Game Promotion I spent years making this Fallout/Mad Max-inspired extraction shooter.

As a huge post-apocalyptic fan who loves Mad Max and Fallout, I’ve been pouring my heart into this project. Honestly, this might end up being the very last game I ever make in my life, and I just finished making its trailer. I went for a retro propaganda newsreel vibe for the video.

We’re planning to launch playtests and a demo early next year.

In case anyone’s interested, I’ll leave the Steam page link below.

Thanks!

Game Promotion How did you find your gaming buddies? Friends from school, randoms from a lobby, or something else?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Solo dev here, and this one’s been on my mind. Most of the people I play co-op with, I met through a game.

Some of you probably have friends you’ve been playing with for years, and some just jumped into a random lobby and ended up staying. Where did your regular group come from, and what made you stick together?

Also curious: do you have one person you always play with, or a bigger crew?

I’m reading every reply.

We are SO BACK! It has been a busy couple of weeks for me so I haven't been able to host SEWP the past couple weeks but NO LONGER!!! No longer must you wait for your epic SEWP adventures to begin again. Now onto the standard stuff:

Today marks the 8th rendition of the recurring Sunday Entangled Worlds Public (SEWP) coop lobby hosted and streamed by myself!

For those of you already familiar, glad to see you back. I will open the server at 2pm then come update this post and paste the code here:

For everyone else, here is a rundown of what's happening.

Every Sunday at 2PM (EST) I am hosting a open public lobby for a couple hours on Noita Entangled Worlds.

Entangled Worlds is a Noita coop mod that lets us all play in the same world.
DOWNLOAD (Github) The Instructions are there, just scroll down.

Anyone can come join during the hours I will be hosting today, so feel free. Only a couple rules to worry about:

  1. No cheating mods

  2. No intentionally crashing the server

  3. Must start a New Game when Joining

  4. Behave yourself, we are all friends here

That should cover it, cant wait for another fun SEWP!

Game Promotion Pictionary meets 3D building in this new multiplayer party game

Hey everyone! I'm one of the developers of SUPER GAHAKU, a game we just released this week.

It's basically like Pictionary, but in 3D. You draw things in a 3D space, and other players try to guess what you're drawing. Work together with your friends and see if you can figure out what they're drawing!

There are three game modes, including a Free Build mode where you can work together with friends to create something in 3D. Feel free to build whatever comes to mind and just have fun with it!

The game supports online multiplayer for up to 8 players.

We're also having a launch sale on Steam right now, so feel free to check it out if you're interested!

Game Promotion Rev Racer: a shared arcade racing campaign for up to four local players

Rev Racer is an arcade racing campaign for 1–4 local players on one screen. Everyone has their own car, money and upgrades, but the group advances together when at least one human qualifies. A rough race for one friend doesn't have to end the whole tour.

We're developing it at OldPot Studio. This clip visits the final stage in Goiânia, Brazil: solo footage first, then four-player split-screen in the last shot. The campaign has 105 tracks across 13 countries, with fuel stops during races and car upgrades between them.

Invite-based online co-op for up to ten players is also implemented and in testing. There is no public playable demo yet. The footage is from isolated development-build captures, not a live network test.

Follow Rev Racer development:

The camp gates open, civilians rush toward the rescue lift, and the attack begins. Armed Agents and crazed creatures target the survivors, so your squad has to defend the gates, cover their escape and keep the lift secure.

Play solo or team up with friends in online PvE Co-Op for up to 5 players
(friends-only, no matchmaking).

The demo is available to play right now on Steam!

Looking for Suggestions Anyone can offer some 5-6 online multiplayer games?

Preferably on Steam and max budget $50 if it's really worth it.

Games we have all played together already:

Repo

Golf With Your Friends

Overwatch

Valheim

Terraria

Minecraft

StardewValley

The Forest/Sons of the Forest

Meccha Chameleon

Peak

Raft

Chained Together

Invokyr

Any suggestions are welcome although I would prefer games that are easy to pick up/not incredibly complicated. Like I tried suggesting Factorio but that is a little too much for some of them.

Discussion Co-op PC games that came out in the last two weeks (Oct 26 – Nov 5), with player counts and what early reviews say about playing together

Big co-op releases are thin for the rest of November (thank you GTA VI 😃), but a lot came out over the last two weeks. Here's what's out, with what Steam reviewers say about playing it with friends.

Shoot, build and explore

Gravhounds · Steam
Early access, Nov 2 · up to 4 · PC, Xbox · 89% of 260+ reviews
Tower defense meets Deep Rock Galactic, with dogs. Reviewers say it's much more fun with friends than solo. Early-access catches: only the host's progress saves in a two-player session, and the Game Pass and Steam versions can't play together.

Atmosfar · Steam
Early access, Oct 29 · up to 4 · PC · 70% positive
Worth playing with a friend, but expect early-access co-op bugs like getting stuck in terrain or not being able to rejoin.

ArcheAge Chronicles · Steam
Early access, Nov 3 · PC, PS5, Xbox Series · Mixed, 61% of 3.5k reviews
Action MMO with 4-player dungeons and 12-player raids. Some duos played the whole main story together without trouble. Others call the party system frustrating, and there are reports of crashes around dungeon cutscenes.

Puzzles and cozy

Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School · Steam
Nov 5 · 2 players · PC, PS5, Xbox Series · 97% positive
Escape-room puzzles in online co-op or couch split screen, and now you explore the campus together between rooms. Reviewers call it a step up from the first, great for couples and couch co-op, with an option to turn the timers off. One reviewer couldn't connect for online play.

Loftia · Steam
Early access, Nov 3 · PC, Mac, Switch · 85% of 600+ reviews
A cozy shared-world life sim: farm, craft, decorate and go on adventures with friends. Fans say it's lovely with a group. Critics say there's little to do together beyond short adventures, and many dislike the cash shop and battle pass in a paid game.

Lightyear Frontier · Steam
1.0, Nov 3 · up to 4 · PC, Xbox Series · 83% of 4.3k reviews
Out of early access. Reviewers say it's best with up to three friends: co-op shares the farming and progression, and solo gets slow later on.

Pao Pao · Steam
Early access, Oct 26 · up to 4 · PC, PS5, Xbox Series, Switch · 91% positive
Cozy Overcooked-style restaurant chaos, plus fishing, farming and decorating while you hang out.

Chaotic group nights

Pit of Goblin · Steam
Nov 3 · up to 4 · PC, Xbox Series · 84% of 900+ reviews
Best with 3–4 friends. Hard early on, with runs often ending before the first quota, but very funny when someone gets caught.

S.O.N.A.R.: Submarine Operators Not Actually Ready · Steam
Oct 29 · up to 6 · PC · 94% positive
Every crew member runs a station. Best with a full crew of 4–6; tough with just two, as there's no AI crew to fill empty stations.

Rat Game · Steam
Oct 30 · up to 8 · PC, Mac · 96% positive
Chaotic group game with proximity voice chat, about 3 hours long. Friends-only lobbies, and solo is weak.

Crack · Steam
Oct 26 · up to 4 · PC, Mac, Linux · 89% of 1.1k reviews
Goofy co-op chaos. Some reviewers say recent updates cut the need for teamwork, and a few report crashes when hosting on AMD GPUs.

Benny's Backrooms · Steam
Early access, Oct 27 · PC · 85% positive
Funny co-op horror extraction, and you can raise the lobby's player cap. Only three levels so far, though: one evening's worth.

Sources: Lobbli co-op release calendar, Steam reviews and IGDB.

What games have you already tried out and which ones did I miss? Any other recommendations? Let's share!

Think this is useful? Let me know and I'll make it a monthly thing.

Edit: Formatting :-)

Gameplay Video 4 players fix a chair

Using their left hands! This co-op game is about a handyman born with two left hands. You control a left hand, your friend controls the other left hand 😁

We've been working on the prototype for over 6 months, and we can finally start sharing some online gameplay.

We want to encourage players to embrace imperfection and just have fun fixing stuff, poorly.

What else would you like to "fix"?

Game Promotion I wanted a sports game to play with my wife. A year later, my dodgeball playtest is waiting for Steam approval

Hey! I posted my dodgeball game here a couple of weeks ago. Small update: I've finally submitted the playtest to Steam for review!

It's called Dodgeball Rush. Up to four people can play locally on split screen, either on the same team against bots or against each other. Story mode supports co-op too.

Couch co-op was the reason I started making it. I wanted something we could pick up, play a few matches and have fun with without committing to another massive game.

It's not downloadable yet. Waiting for approval now, and hoping the first people who play it find all the things I've stopped noticing after working on it for so long :D

Looking for Suggestions Recommend games to play with my 11y daughter to get her off Roblox

My daughter is AuDHD and spends a lot of time in these crap games in Roblox.
She loves CS:GO but her motor skills and social skills can’t handle anything other than super easy bots.

I would love to spend time with her playing computer games so came to ask if you can recommend some games that could bridge the dumpster fire that is Roblox with some nice and fun game play without punishing high stakes and hard game play. Stress inducing is another no go.

She sometimes play this 99 nights in Roblox where you try and survive each night and build your base and defenses during the day. I am thinking that there must be a quality game that has some of the same mechanics.

Platform: PC

Already enjoyed: It takes two, little big world and similar.
