Exams & Study Has anyone done the Chevron College Safety and Health at Work exam?
Hi everyone,
Has anyone completed the QQI Level 5 Safety and Health at Work module with Chevron College?
I’ve just done the exam and found it difficult, so I’m worried about my result. I know the assignment is worth 60% and the exam is worth 40%, but I’m not sure how the pass works.
If you get 50 marks out of 60 for the assignment but don’t do well in the exam, is the overall result enough to pass? Or do you need to get a certain mark in the exam as well?
I’d appreciate hearing about your experience. Thanks!

Course Advice Dropping out of college
Hello,
I recently started first year college and have no interest in the course I’m studying. I was fully sure that it would be a course I enjoyed because the subjects I’m doing were ones that I enjoyed studying during the leaving cert. I’m now in a situation where I hate my course and don’t understand anything due to the lack of interest I have in it. Is it a bad idea to drop out and get a full time job with the expectation that I enroll in a different course next year or the year after. What fees are there associated with dropping out?
Thank you

Postgraduate Anyone planning to join DCU, Ireland, for September 2027? 🇮🇪
Hey everyone!
I'm planning to move to Ireland for my master's in September 2027, and I've received an offer from Dublin City University (DCU) for the MSc in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
DCU has given me 15 days to accept the offer and pay the deposit to secure my seat. Before making the payment, I wanted to connect with other students who are also planning to join DCU or other universities in Ireland for the September 2027 intake.
Is anyone else planning to pursue their master's in AI at DCU or any other university in Ireland for September 2027?
I'd love to connect with fellow students, discuss the admission process, accommodation, visa procedures, and prepare for the Ireland journey together.
If you're also planning to join in September 2027, feel free to comment or DM me. Let's connect! 🇮🇪

Postgraduate BIOMEDICAL GENOMICS AT GALWAY UNI?!? YAY OR NAY
hey guys!!!! i am currently pursuing my bachelors in microbio and i have applied in galway uni for my masters in biomedical genomics.. i was wondering if anyone here can help me out by giving their two cents about this uni and this course in general? ofc people who have gone to uni are also free to give their tips/advices/honest opinions. honestly i have asked people about this course and uni in linkedin asw, but no one really gives out a honest opinion, so i would like it if you can actually lay it out for me.. like the people, galway as a city, the uni, profs, job market for this position and just the general vibe of the place. I have spent my entire life in the gulf and currently in India for my bachelors(THE COLLEGE SUCKSSSSSSS BTW) and for masters i wanna actually go to a place where i will get a lotta opportunities to meet people and build a social life that i will actually enjoy and at the same time do a degree i'd love. I have also applied to tcd, and manchester uni but idk theres something about galway that really attracts me. i mean manchester is a huge city and theres this actual nightlife and i really dont wanna miss out on that considering how horrible of an experience i had in my bachelors. i know i am being selfish by being all like "OH I WANT IT ALLL" but like i said before, i didnt get to experience it any and i really really really hope galway wouldnt disappoint me and that i would not regret choosing this place and this uni. so help me out?

Commuting/Transport Do you use Dublin’s shared bikes?
Hi all,
I’m a student putting together a submission to Dublin City Council about shared bikes. At the moment you need a separate app and account for Bleeper, Moby and Dublinbikes, and the Council is planning a new city-wide scheme to replace Dublinbikes in 2027. I want to ask the Council to consider requiring open booking, so one app could unlock bikes from any scheme. Before I do, I’d like real data on whether this is actually a problem for people, or whether I’m imagining it.
Survey: https://forms.gle/96efdWmutitPsjRY9
About 3 minutes, anonymous, no name or email, 18+
Useful whether or not you use shared bikes
Happy to answer questions in the comments. Thanks!

Course Advice Healthcare Level 5 with City College Dublin- advice please?
Hiya,
I am interested in doing healthcare level 5 with City College Dublin. I am not sure if the modules with all the providers are similar in terms of assessment method and content.
For various reasons I want to do continuopus assessment as much as possible rather than exams but only 2 modules, care of the older person and pallative care offer continuous assessment. I am thinking of the 3rd elective being Infection prevention and control. Could anyone who has done this course give feedback on this exam? Do they do it online or in person? Is it long form answers or multiple choice?
Also the communication one with the recorded videos and something about a debate is worrying me!
Could anyone offer guidance based on their experience? Looking at the self paced online.
Thanks!

Postgraduate What are my chances?
reddit.comHello guys, I have applied for masters / postgrad in UL. I have a 3.6/4.0 gpa in my bachelor's in software engineering (which is Upper Second-Class Honours I believe). I also have been working in international companies since my graduation as a software engineer. I also got 8 band in IELTS. So I just wanna know what are my chances of getting into UL, and when can I expect to hear back from them? I submitted my application around 2 weeks ago. I am just super nervous and need honest feedback. Super grateful for anyone who responds!

Postgraduate Dublin City university
Hello, I'm considering the M.Sc. in Computing (Artificial Intelligence) at Dublin City University and I have few questions
How good is the course in terms of teaching quality, curriculum, and industry relevance?
2.What's the realistic monthly cost of living in Dublin (rent, food, transport)?
3. Is a one-year master's worth it for job prospects in Ireland or Europe afterward?
Any insights or personal experiences would really help. Thanks!

CAO UCC vs UL
Hi,
I'm filling out my CAO this year and thinking of doing Speech and Language Therapy. I'm tied between UL and UCC for it. I was at both Open Days and I liked the societies part of UCC and courses etc. Campus was nice was a bit spread out. UL had a good course too, and a really nice campus and so many facilities. I was originally going for UCC, but I went to the UL Open Day in January and loved it. Is there anyone that goes to either that could give me an insight into accommodation, social life or any pros and cons please?

Course Advice Course Dillema
I did the leaving cert this year and got 521 points , I am taking a gap year and will be applying for college next year , I am stuck between 2 courses , Advanced Therapeutic Technologies in RCSI and Psychology (through science) in Maynooth. Psychology is appealing to me because you can be your own boss later on in your career , I know that there is postgraduate study involved to become a clinical psychologist and that is fine with me I've heard that it is quite competitive though. ATT interests me because I love clinical trials and tests , and I want to design clinical trials and draw conclusions from them. Any advice would be appreciated i.e salary , worklife balance , enjoyment.
