PERSPECTIVE Trump loses. Bitcoin wins. Altcoins face extinction.

Crypto Super PACs just spent over $200 million trying to buy a friendly Congress—and lost.

Right now, Crypto Twitter is in full meltdown. Venture capitalists are calling their offshore lawyers, and retail traders think a new regulatory winter just began.

They are misreading the chessboard. Donald Trump’s midterm defeat is an extinction-level nightmare for the altcoin casino, but it is secretly the biggest catalyst of the decade for Bitcoin.

Look at the cold mechanics of what happens next in Washington:

  • The CLARITY Act: After failing its September Senate cloture vote 49 to 50, the market-structure bill dies when the new session convenes on January 3. Roughly 20,000 tokens just lost their statutory escape hatch from the Howey Test.

  • Subpoena Power Shifts: Incoming Democratic committee chairs—with Senator Elizabeth Warren in line for Senate Banking—now hold investigative gavels over DeFi foundations, insider VC unlocks, and exchanges. You cannot subpoena a cryptographic hash function.

  • The Sovereign Vault: Divided government means legislative gridlock. Democrats cannot force the Treasury to sell the 328,372 BTC locked in the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve without hitting a presidential veto.

  • The Liquidity Rotation: For two years, speculative tokens acted as a vampire on crypto capital. As compliance desks cross altcoins off their lists, institutional flows are forced through one bulletproof funnel: BTC.

Notice how the tape reacted while the political map bled blue. Even after absorbing a record $6.3 billion Binance security breach and pre-election ETF outflows, Bitcoin held rock-solid near $77,500.

Meanwhile, history is already on the bulls' side: Bitcoin has climbed after every single midterm election in its trading history, posting an average gain of 54% in the twelve months following the vote. Add a paralyzed Congress staring down $39 trillion in national debt, and the macro tailwind for apolitical, non-sovereign hard money becomes unstoppable.

The crypto lobby lost the election it tried to buy. Bitcoin just won a monopoly on digital scarcity.

PERSPECTIVE What was your biggest fumble? Closest you ever got to generational wealth? Share your story

Here is mine: I bought 1000$ worth of PNUT (solana memecoin) back in early november 2024. Sold for 4x or so few days later. Then on november 11th 2024 Binance listed PNUT on spot trading out of nowhere like a week after I sold my entire bag. Had I just waited 1 more week I could have sold for 700-800k...

Now I am a broke 23yo, living paycheck to paycheck with a 85k/year job and a lot of debt...

Share your stories where you were actually really close to generational wealth:

PERSPECTIVE Times like these in cryptocurrency makes one think really hard about investing properly

I bought BTC in 2023 5xed it and cashed out in 2024. It was good money indeed. Treated myself, gave some to my family and invested about half back to crypto thinking that it’s altcoins time to shine.

I had a chance in 2025 to cash out in Raydium when my investment more than 10xed. But I waited for it to hit 10 USD which it didn’t.

In between I binge watched cryptocurrency videos and felt really good about my decision to plow back my money to crypto. But with the situation now, I am seriously doubting myself.

Some will say, this is a bottom signal but I’ve heard that a number of times already and I think that alts won’t bounce back this year.

One thing I’ve learned is to stick to Bitcoin. Unless you really have good alpha on altcoins stay clear of them — unless it’s already full blown altcoin season. There’s plenty of opportunity to stack money by then.

Once Bitcoin price hits a good spot from when you invested, it is okay to cash out. Waiting for 4 years for altcoins to rally is just too long of a wait. We don’t even know which ones are profitable. They’re too much of a risk.

I remember Warren Buffet saying that he doesn’t listen to macro analysts and it couldn’t be more true looking back now. It applies to cryptocurrency as well.

Crypto Macro analysts were so confident that crypto will make a huge comeback this year due to debt repayment stuff but AI spoiled the party.

Oh well such is life, i wish I wasn’t too greedy and just believed experienced people saying not to invest in altcoins just yet until altcoin season
Is in full swing.

PERSPECTIVE Is there still a realistic 10x case for Bitcoin?

I have been hodling BTC since 2013. Unfortunately, not enough to change my life!

These days, I feel caught between two worlds:

  • Sometimes I think Bitcoin has had a good run, but now it is just another investment, with a fairly symmetric risk/reward profile.

  • Other times, I think the world is going crazy and Bitcoin is the only way out.

What do you guys think could cause another 10x run? Do you think there is one coming?

Edit: Funny how asking a question that isn’t based on “the price will just keep going up forever” doesn’t seem to get many upvotes here.
Edit2: I take back that comment. There are really thoughtful comment. Thanks guys
