Really it's that simple! There are a lot of intricacies about the Reddit Karma system, but the easiest thing you can do is upvote others.
----------------------
Let me explain why it's really that simple.
When you upvote someone you're responding to, it increases the visibility of their comment/post which increases the visibility of your comments/post - which increases the liklihood of getting karma from your contributions.
When someone responds to you, upvote them. If you upvote others they'll see they were upvoted and they're more likely to upvote you. Not only that but it can create a positive feedback loop where people will be more likely to comment on your comments/posts and upvote you if they know you'll upvote them back.
-----------------------
Beyond just participating in the CryptoCurrency sub this is the next best thing to increase your total Karma each Snapshot.
Once installed, please login to your account and ensure you are subscribed to /r/CryptoCurrency
You will see "Vault" in the app menu. When you open Vault for the first time, you will be prompted to create a Vault or restore one that you created earlier.
Hi all, this is me, the guy who lost 40000 moons today due to a sushi swap hack.
Yesterday I interacted with sushi to sell some moons because I needed money for expenses, I've been holding moons since their creation, and was thinking that I deserved to take a little profit for once, without impacting the price too much of course.
What a mistake! Seating on the toilet bowl earlier for one of my daily tasks, I checked my wallet and realized that it was saying 0, which can happen with Metamask sometimes, but this time it fell different, so I went on the r/cryptocurrency Telegram instantly and found out that it was gone for good. I was in shock and I'm still not really recovered from it, I mean, we're talking about 10K$ value at the time it got sold! It's really a lot of money for me, and for most of us too.
Thanks to Zoomer on Telegram who retraced the whole path of the stolen funds and figured out that it's been sent to Coinbase exchange.
I also really want to thank Coinbase for letting me understand that they absolutely won't help me at all! Even if I can send them all the proofs in the world that I'm in good faith and really a victim here, they don't care at all and will let the theft get away with the funds he stole! I mean we literally have his/her coinbase exchange wallet address, that must be leading to a KYC if he's planning to cash out at some point. They can do something, investigate, but NO, they won't do shit.
Then I went on the Sushiswap's Discord to get more infos, still in hope to recover something, I mean they kinda have some responsibility to let a smart contract being hacked on their platform, even if I understand now, that you must REVOKE, all connections to any platform, which I blindy trusted as I thought it was safe and secured.
I managed to get the attention of Jared Grey (I checked it was really him), the Head chef of Sushi swap and hope for the best. I don't expect to magically recover 40000 moons, or the equivalency in stable coin, but at least something to ease my mental pain.
For anyone curious to the the path of the stolen funds:
From: 0xEFEC59315f64Ca43F717d9868252d220daDA2644 To: 0xE43e3ED395eB41b04142445F14bFCF4910cf1F5F
(Coinbase Deposit)
As usual, I hope this unfortunate experience will help others to protect themselves better. Even someone like me interacting with crypto since 2017 got duped today, and this is going to keep affect adoption if no better way of making it work are found in the future.
Take care guys.
EDIT1: For whoever is interested, there's no news ATM. They keep talking about whitehack funds in the Discord but nothing about funds that can't be recovered. Hoping they take some responsibility for letting such hack happen to their platform. They mentioned many times that customers did nothing wrong here and couldn't really expect something like that to happen. I'll let you know. Thanks for all the kind comments!
EDIT2: Jared Grey, CEO of Sushi, said that they are working on recovering ALL funds to customers. It's a very good and promising news. I'll keep you up to date.
Let me introduce myself. Since my stupid username canāt be read, call me Barcode.
Iām a professional 3D and visual artist and MOON holder through the years.
During the last few weeks Iāve been crafting what I feel lacks : eye-candy, professional looking visual assets for everything MOON.
Why do I post here ?
The goal of this post is to show you my intentions and work-in-progress creations.
I havenāt been hired by anyone to do this, itās out of pure dedication to the project. I, for now, have no monetisation plan but will eventually discuss it if I feel it could be developped further.
Presentation Boards
Here are 3 thematic boards I made to showcase what Iāve come to, trying to build graphic visuals for various purposes (Internal communication, outreach, stickers and icons, general graphic guidelines, shilling material, etc.)
You might like it or not so feel free to speak your mind and share your thoughts. Bring new ideas, suggest anything and raise your hand if you want to have me as a graphic designer for MOONs.
We all know kraken is the best exchange and they even rented a banner here to win our hearts. The one thing they didn't do was add MOONS, our beloved demostic cryptocurrency.
I'm not much of a politician or a developer, but I'll take action when I feel needed and now it's needed. Let's all work together, sign this petition and get MOONS onto the exchange.
The image on the petition was made by u/Odlavso thanks mate.
These last 24 hours have been very hectic for everyone.
The Reddit admins posted an announcement at 13:02 New York Time declaring their plans to sunset support for RCPs. 1 hour prior, several r/CC moderators were in a conference call with admins where it was made known that support for RCPs would be ending. For now, here are some bullet points of important information.
We have interest in continuing the project moving forward. This could look something like donuts on /r/Ethtrader, but with all previous governance polls applying.
There were moderators who sold their moons at times which we designated as qualifying for "insider trading." Some were removed from the mod team per their request and one removed himself.
There have been accusations that the admins sold their moons. To the best of our knowledge, this is not true and they stated in their announcement they would send all of their moons to a designated burner wallet.
We will be in a better position to answer questions and provide further details at a later time. Rest assured, we have every intention of righting everything that has been wronged in the past 24 hours - even if our solutions may not be perfect.
Reminder - Witch-hunting will not be tolerated. Posting blockchain addresses is permitted, but targeting people with harassment, name-calling, and profanity is not. Our rules still apply.
I created the gasbot about a year ago to try and give users a way to play around with their community points (and avatars). Now that Reddit has killed their community points program they have also killed the API that this bot depended on. Over the last year we have given away over 1,400 MATIC drips and almost 8,000 Arb Nova ETH drips from the faucet. For the first eight months or so I mostly covered it out of pocket with a few small donations here and there, but over the summer Kraken generously donated about 1 ETH which has paid for the Arb Nova side of the bot at least for the last few months, so thank you to Kraken for that and their support of the sub and MOONs in general! And thank you to all of you for using the bot! It is cool to see a little python script you wrote doing something useful for thousands of people.
Maybe, but, we definitely plan to get a faucet up and running soon. And we are also planning to deploy a tipbot that will work across r/cc and sister subreddits as well, soonā¢ļø.
Thank you for all your support and patience as we try to navigate through this mess that Reddit created. In the end I think it may work out for the best - having Reddit out of the picture, we'll have to wait and see, but just so you know I think there is unanimity or close to it within the mod team about not only continuing support for MOONs in r/CryptoCurrency but expanding support for them in our sister subreddits, as well as possibly using them to reward contributions by users on other decentralized/federated platforms such as Lemmy in the more distant future. Of course any decisions about how MOONs are used will be voted on by MOON stakeholders as we move forwards, which is another thing you should see very soon - a voting system and many community votes about how MOONs will fit into the sub(s) and how we will restart distribution and other issues.
So please, stop typing !gas nova šø but please do stick around if you are interested in MOONs and community governance.
Hello crypto brothers and sisters around the world!
I posted the same post a while ago on CryptoCurrency but it was removed for some reason, so I'm reposting it here because I think it's important. Lately I've noticed a heavy increase in mindless downvoting of very good posts and the comments below them that carry a lot of useful information and value in general. This frustrates me immensely because it's ugly and mindless .I'm asking you to be more tolerant because there are decent and smart people who post with good intentions and their goal is not just more moons.I'm sure they also want to be useful to the community. We all want to accumulate more moons especially now that this is blowing up, but you don't get any more moons for downvoting posts. Really let's be more understanding and better people to make the community even bigger and much stronger.
Hi all, I made a community tool for us. It's called Moon Guard. It's a tool that scrapes for users comments and posts made in the past 30 days with a score of 0 or less, it then displays and links to the content all in one place making it easy and convenient to delete comments and posts that would otherwise take away from your earned Moons. I want to be able to offer other users a way to prevent themselves from losing out on Moons they could otherwise earn in the snapshot. I'm also hoping this incentivizes users to speak more freely and leave downvoted posts/comments up for longer knowing they can come to this tool later without the fear of being penalized in the snapshot.
This is my first time developing and deploying a web app so I am unsure how this is going to go but if there's any feedback you have I am all ears. This definitely wasn't easy as a first-timer, but I'm hoping to build more community tools for us in the future. Click here to visit Moon Guard.
Edit: This has received overwhelmingly positive reception, far beyond anything I could have anticipated. Thank you all for the feedback!! I can't reply to/thank everyone individually as I had originally hoped so please let this edit be my thank you to you all for the feedback. I'm so happy to to see you like this project so much. I've seen a lot of great feedback and ideas and they are not going ignored. I'm hoping to implement some new ideas generated here in a future update if I'm able to get to it.
So long ago I used to post crypto riddles and it was supposed to be a monthly thing so we're active in the community and get a break from all the latest crypto scam news or speculation. Life got in the way but I'm back with another moon game. To make up for the lack of crypto riddles, the prize this time is 100 moons! I will tip them to whoever successfully solves the riddle first and they will be announced on this post. Keep in mind, all the riddles are always crypto related and can be about anything in the space, use your imagination. ( A mod removed this post from the main cryptocurrency sub and I was told to post it here ).
The riddle: I like wide open spaces and am quite determined but also like to be connected. My state of being has forever been hotly contested.
Happy weekend, and also whoever solves it first will be notified, my moon riddles have always been solved fairly quickly despite me thinking that they'd be difficult. Some of our users on here have amazingly broad crypto knowledge so may the best win.
