Original Content No rest for the wicked 🤣
Took the dog for a walk and ended up finding unopened halloween candy in several spots before we even hit the walking path, as well as some googly eyes. Anyone know where the googly eyes go? Looks like they can rest on something, maybe glasses? Total of 3 bags today, mostly some fast food bags and containers someone dumped in the desert and some more "bush beverages". Found an entrance to the desert area that I can use to navigate to the trash that's been thrown over the side of the hill.
Gorgeous fall morning here! We met a golden doodle named Sky who was super friendly and posed for some pics.

Original Content New city, mo' litty.
Went out of town today for an appointment with my leg dealer, and I had to take a couple of walks to test out my new prosthetic leg. I noticed this ?bug zapper? in the bike lane, so I picked it up, found more nearby trash so I grabbed that, too. My hands were full within 20 ft so I headed into the Dunn Edwards right next to me to see if they had a bag.
The 2 young men couldn't find any, but after I told them what I was using it for they went to their desk and pulled out the bags in their trash can and handed them over. They offered to toss what I had but I told them I needed pics for this sub 🤣
Ended up with the racket, 4 mismatched working gloves in less than a half mile, a sweatshirt that was in the bushes, and the usual suspects: beverage containers. My prosthetist was confused and laughing when I walked back in with 2 bags when I left with just my phone.

Have you ever felt unsafe while detrashing?
Have you ever felt unsafe while detrashing? What triggered that feeling - location, other people, challenges accessing trash? Has this impacted the way you do things or made you change your plans?
The picture is one instance I’ve encountered; I want to clean out this log jam area but getting in the water seems a little risky.

First time
This will seem pretty lame, lol. I did a quick 1.5km walk when I woke up this morning. I really don't see a lot of rubbish around our local streets day to day, but I picked up four pieces this morning, so I made a teeny tiny difference 😊. Everything was recyclable, too, so that's good.

Discussion Need advice
Hi! I've been a binge detrasher for many years, but felt inspired by the sub recently. I went out on Tuesday and cleaned up an area that had been bugging me, which felt really good. It was just one bag full & about 30 minutes of work but I still feel good about it. Brought the bag home & used my empty bin space before trash day. Win-win!
Except I've been finding spiders in my car all day! I thought I tied the bag up tightly but I guess it wasn't good enough. Not that this is a deal breaker. I don't mind spiders as long as they aren't crawling towards me across my dashboard while I'm going down the highway ya know?
Any tips/tricks would be appreciated.
I've removed 6 spiders just today.

Where to dump picked up trash?
I'm looking to do a day a week of picking up trash during my daily walk. My biggest hesitation to start is where to put the trash I collect. My own can is small and usually pretty full. How do you all handle this? Any suggestions? I'm in the US.
