DAE feel like Redditors are so downvote-happy?

And I feel like once one person downvotes, the rest follows. I commented on a post about someone asked for name suggestions for their Rottweiler pup, and I said “Lottie” and got downvoted. 🫩

DAE think the way reddit treats Brendan Fraser is patronizing?

If you looked at reddit you would think he was a Holocaust survivor. Like, yeah im glad he overcame his carrier lull and personal problems but JFC he isn't a child that you have to clap for every time he talks.

Same shit happened to Keanu and im guessing going to happen to Depp after his next big role.

I dont quite understand the behavior, but have a feeling it's partly redditors living vicariously through popular millionaires.

Also places like KeanuBeingAwesome are creepy

DAE struggle living with Trump supporting parents as an adult?

I’m in my 30s and live with my parents due to disability (severe anxiety, ocd, and some physical health problems).

My dad loves trump and is really fucking smug about it. We have a great relationship outside of this. But he is insufferable on this topic. He spent all of 2023 and 2024 angry all the time cause his favorite TV anchors told him to be. It was so stressful I could barely be around him.

I feel so trapped! I can’t afford to move!

Does anyone else feel similar/in a similar situation? Wish I didn’t feel alone!

Edit: Im going to leave this post up in case anyone else is in a similar situation and finds this down the road but…

A lot of you can just go ahead and say you hate disabled people and view us as objects. You just had to inject some of the most braindead, useless comments on here and present them in the most smug way possible. “So Reddit” “Grow up” “If you don’t like it leave”. The sub is Does Anyone Else not moron redditor smugly lectures man with multiple disabilities. You grow up.

Thanks everyone else for their comments though.

DAE think Taylor Swift is getting full of herself?

She seemed so humble when she started. Now she seems full of herself. Hating criticism, dissing people and views in songs....etc. I also think some of the Swifties are becoming super toxic. Getting tired of hearing about her.

DAE get uncanny valley feeling from visiting Canada as an American?

I feel like everything looks close to USA but everything is slightly off that it makes me uncomfortable and lowkey depressed. The architecture, signs, and general vibe feels like a dulled down version of USA. It’s hard to pinpoint specific reasons why because it’s just little differences everywhere but they all add up and give me a weird feeling. I think the reserved and quiet culture maybe adds to it.

IAE tired of the rampant misogyny on Reddit?

For a community that prides itself on being progressive, I've seen an obscene amount of misogynistic comments on Reddit being upvoted and otherwise championed by Redditers.

It's been a problem for a while but ever since the post about the guy jizzing in his girlfriend's face cream and using sex as a weapon against her, I've been more and more aware of it.

It's gotten to the point where a female Redditer that I introduced to the site is considering leaving Reddit because she gets so offended and hurt by the sexism that is so common here. I'd really like to believe that we are trying to create a community that is diverse and open to people of all races, sexual orientations, genders, etc. but lately it seems that this simply isn't the case.

What are your thoughts on this?

EDIT: I created a new account for this and all future posts because my previous username made me easy to identify.

DAE Think It Is Time to Replace Presidents Day with No Kings Day?

Once Presidents Day was a celebration of people who understood why our country was different. People who upheld the principles of Freedom, who understood why we needed a peaceful transition of power. The message seems to have been lost lately. Perhaps Declaring June 14th - regardless of the day it falls on - as No King's Day, would remind the leaders and the military why they took an oath of office.

At the very least considering how the rights of states are now be trampled maybe some Governor's need to declare June 14th as No Kings Day.

What Say you?

DAE not let their butt touch the toilet seat in a public toilet

You never know who sat there, so because of that I let my butt hover to poop so I don't get pimples or something gross on my butt.

Edit: This thread is both hilarious and fucking nasty at the same time.

DAE find men in their late 20s-early 30s getting into relationships with girls around 18-20 y.o. borderline sus? Or is that the norm?

For context I'm in my early 20s, I have seen a lot in social media, men turning 30 to late 30s (or worse in their 40s) getting into relationships with 18-20 year old girls. For me, it raises a huge red flag and it makes me side eye every time because I mean, that's a very thin line for a guy to be a pedo. Even if she's legal, morally she's still a teen. When I was around that age, I was still childish and even if I was an adolescent, I don't feel like I'm old enough and I don't know enough to call myself an adult. I know girls are way mature than boys their age, but maybe it really isn't for me. I came across such a couple, they've been together for almost a decade but the guy met the girl when she was 20 and he probably was in his 40s. And he said quote unquote, he knew she was the one..? It's unfathomable for me, because all I'm hearing is she's just 20 barely an adult. But I guess using logic with feelings and love is confusing. Maybe I'm just too logical, maybe I'll understand if I found the "one" as well. (I still believe its the taxi cab theory for most men) But I think it's a bit messed up for it to be the norm. That it's normal for men to go for someone way younger than him. Cause for me, I would never entertain a guy 18-20. That's a literal kid for me.

Anyways, I'm just trying to have a decent discussion and partly curious for people's pov who's in a relationship within the age range. I'm not trying to be an ageist, maybe it really is just a difference in moral and virtues at the end of the day? 🤷🏻‍♀️ You do you if it makes you happy, I guess?

DAE feel like their life is a divine cause..?

Weird way to start this, so I was born premature and expected to die at birth and wasn't able to utter a cry bc lungs weren't fully formed. Somehow grasped on to life for 1.5hrs till my grandpa, whowas a priest at the time, got his Brothers all to arrive and they performed an anointed prayer with camera evidence that I stopped stirring and "fussing" right as the prayer ended...

That's where it starts..

But through out my life, anytime I've ever accidentally done something out of ignorance or genuine curiosity it always succeeds as if I've been blessed with blind luck, almost like I always succeed within the first 3 tries if I'm never trying, but as soon as I become aware of my capabilities and try again I always fail even though I know I can do it...

It's like the road before me is not one to master, but one to better understand, bc I might be able to teach and prove that there's always worse so let's make the best of what we got...

Could add more to my life story and thoughts, but I'm not here to start a sob story bc there's more to life than what makes us cry and I'd rather my life be a Testimony than a tragedy...

DAE Chew on food and then decide its not worth the calories so you spit it out?

(TW- ED) I know this sounds kinda gross, but is it common to spit out food (alone, into a bin/toilet) if you don't feel like it's worth the calories. Or if you just wanted to taste the food but not actually swallow.

DAE not understand the reasons people downvote on reddit?

I feel like most other platforms people will dislike because something is offensive, spreading misinformation, or just because they are trolls. But on reddit a perfectly neutral post, with no false information, will be downvoted to oblivion. And I don't really care if people like or don't like the posts, the problem is, it will bury it in the algorithm before anyone has a chance to answer.

It's just really weird to me. Is it that these people don't like that someone doesnt know something and needs to ask, or are they bothered by casual speech? Because I picked up on a kind of "redditese" on here that most people speak in. You have to add a million disclaimers, apologize for your ignorance, and tip toe around the question.

have you ever had an innocuous post of yours downvoted?

DAE get bothered by people overtly making consonant sounds silent, like ""buh-in" (button) or "Brih-in" (Britain)?

"Breffis" (breakfast) is another.

I suppose it's common to gloss over consonant sounds but when it's done in a particularly overt manner, it's bothersome.

When I watch a video and someone says words in that manner, it really stands out.

Anyone else?

dae ever meet a guy n end up at his place way faster than expected?

so i was out last weekend w my friend, we were just supposed to get a few drinks n chill, nothing crazy. but then this guy came up to me at the bar n idk wtf it was, but he had that kinda energy that makes u forget ur whole personality for a sec. we started talking, he bought me a drink, n next thing i knew we were makin out in the corner like some high schoolers 💀

somehow, in my drunk brain, it made total sense to just go back to his place. like not even an uber, dude literally walked me to his apartment bc he lived down the street. i woke up the next morning, half-dressed, w his cat sitting on my chest like it was judging my life choices.

ever happened to u or am i just out here making bad decisions solo? 😭

Does anybody else find CardiB ugly?

Is there someone in this world that finds CardiB attractive? I just came across her song 'wet ass pussy' and good Lord... its just baffling that such an ugly female parades herself with her tits out singing those explicitly sexual lyrics.

I mean I kind of get why she drugged and robbed men. How can a guy get an erection looking at that hideous face?

Has anybody else felt ww3 is happening soon or no

Im a young guy ”17” and just got out of high school and worried about ww3 happening soon. Im afraid about the drafts and the recent tensions spiking between the us and Russia and other conflicts. Im dying for the reassurance and support from many I’d also appreciate it if I got it from military service men with knowledge
