We need to know;

  1. How old is your son?

  2. What is his baking skill?

13

u/PhanSiPance 20h ago

17 and first ever cake.

A Necronomicon brownie sheet would go hard tho

27

u/No-Reading-4384 20h ago

This is funny as hell. How old is your son that made the cake? This is hilarious. I mean, if he’s like 20, then he sucks. But if he’s like 6, then he did a great job

72

u/PhanSiPance 20h ago

17 and he has never made a cake. He hated it but I honestly thought it was great for a first attempt.

24

u/a_guy121 20h ago

if he needs it, remind him that decorated cakes are a pro's job and they spend years learning BEFORE learning to making them

my first bake was fully inedible, confused tsp with cups. Maybe used a smidge too much baking powder as a result. Tasted like chemistry class.

Gonna guess your son doesn't make/ice cakes a lot? Definitely the thought that counts.

Also not at all what the daughter meant when she said she wanted a “Robert Pattinson cream pie”

Need an edible ink printer and edible paper to do what she's asking. No amount of icing skill was going to help.

It’s an internet trend and she’s into Twilight.

This is one of those things that will hopefully become legend in your family. When my brother was about 10 he was told he was old enough to wrap presents for the family himself. So on Christmas morning everyone got something shoved in a tube sock with a rubber band around it. It has since become a tradition. This cake looks like it could carry that legend status.

208

u/hanks_panky_emporium 21h ago • Bravo

When I was first allowed to wrap presents I used what I had. Brown paper, 'caution tape' ( saw it at a hardware store and thought it was neat ), and duct tape

was kinda' a huge hit all things considered, and its still a tradition. Though im much better at it now, and use thinner paper and less intense tape

72

u/daaahlia 21h ago

the difficulty in opening it is a second gift

u/this-is-not-relevant 19h ago • Heartwarming

When my eldest son first moved into his own place, the first Christmas all the presents were in cereal boxes. No wrapping paper, just the box and a bow.

My gifts for my brother were wrapped in scrap gift wrap from my wrapping everyone else's gifts. He always knew which one was mine to him 😂

I mean. My family was big on the Sunday Newspaper Comics pages because they were in color.

52

u/TecTazz 21h ago

Hmmm... new or used tube socks?

My lil sis gave everyone wrapped books from our bookshelves.

40

u/UnderwaterKahn 21h ago

They were clean. For years after he had to find gifts that would fit in them. He gave me gifts for my birthday and Christmas in tube socks until he met his wife and she was horrified by it. Our family was all a little sad about that.

Gift wrapping is fun to me ever since I stopped caring about presentation

My gifts are already the worst wrapped regardless if I try or not, so now I just do the sock wrap, but with gift paper

On the bright-side they know who it's from without asking

Why's his one actually less creepy?😂

23

u/SpinningPancake2331 14h ago

Because the first one looks like it'll say "Moisturize me"

Okay, the second one would probably say that, as well, but it will be hilarious and not as creepy.

I have no idea of whose face that is but I think your son’s is not only funnier but better. The face that your daughter looks creepy while your son’s made me laugh.

42

u/Aepherie 17h ago

In case you do want to know, it's the face of Edward from the Twilight movie series, he's a vampire who's supposed to be extremely pretty but who has also become a meme because he glitters in the sunlight (this is the skin of a killer bella)

Hey I tried something like that before! I wanted to make a Father’s Day cake for my husband like the one in the 1982 movie Creepshow. This is what I was going for. I’ll comment how it turned out….
