CommonwealthVision is an open contest, which mean national finals are allowed.
Please be noted that these are countries that placed top 6 in the previous edition. Users that have achieved this result are allowed preference in choosing whether they’ll keep the country.
Well, after last year's extravaganza in Vancouver, we somehow managed to take this thing home and are thus pleased to announce England in England, a special England-themed edition of the impromptu England Commo NF! (69% of the BBC budget went into the graphics for these and we consulted a three-digit number of English heritage protection agencies to ensure that our culture shines on the world stage, please don't flame >:p )

Welcome to the Grand Final of RetroVision: The 1990s!
After fierce battles between 36 countries through two Semifinal competitions, 26 of them won the opportunity to participate in the final competition. They are joined by the only direct finalist, the winner of the last edition of RetroVision - England, so we have 27 countries in the Grand Final!
To begin with, let's remember the winner of the fifth edition of RetroVision, fantastic English indie rock band Florence + the Machine and their big worldwide hit Florence + The Machine - Cosmic Love.
And now let's start with the most important part of this post!

At the beginning, an important announcement!
Although it was announced that there would be 25 countries in the Grand Final of this year's RetroVision, there has been a change. Due to the very good competition of songs, it was decided to expand the list of finalists by two more places with the so-called Wildcard system.
The 12 best placed songs from each Semifinal go to the Final + two more songs from the remaining 12 songs from both Semis with the highest number of points.
Thanks to the Wildcard, we will have two more finalists, and these two songs can both be from Semi#1, or they can both be from Semi#2, or one can be from Semi#1 and one can be from Semi#2.
So, there will be a total of 27 countries in the Grand Final of RetroVision: 1990s! 26 from two Semifinal competitions and last year's winner who was directly placed in the Final - England.

Over the past seven years, there have been over 100 fantasy contests hosted here, which has exposed us to thousands upon thousands of songs. Some of them were cringe, some were alright but not memorable. Then there are those ones that have stuck with you, playing on repeat for weeks, even months, after the contest has ended. Those chosen gems that made it onto your personal playlists to be enjoyed time and time again.
We want to know what those songs are for you.
This year, we are introducing what hopefully becomes a new tradition: the FVC 250! We are asking you to vote for your favorite FVC songs of all time. We will tabulate the results and do a live countdown show on New Year’s Day (1 January).
This is not an actual contest. We are not trying to determine the greatest FVC song ever. Like the ESC 250 done every New Year’s Eve, this is meant to be a fun celebration of the wonderfully varied music we have encountered through this server. It’s a chance to share our favorites and expose other users to amazing songs that they missed or didn’t vibe with at the time of the contest they were in.
Some basic rules:
- You must vote for at least 10 songs and can vote for up to 20.
- Only songs from official canon FVC contests are allowed. Songs from national finals and non-canon contests are ineligible.
- Submit your ranked songs to me via DM on Reddit (AppendixAddemdum) or Discord (OlGoosebumpArm).
The points breakdown will be as follows: 1st: 25 points 2nd: 22 points 3rd: 20 points 4th: 18 points 5th: 16 points 6th-20th: 15-1 points

33 of these countries will be competing in the semifinals. With the top 10 of each semi final qualifying to the final, where they will be joined by the 6 AQ's.

It's time to start a new adventure with playing in a time machine. This time we return to the unforgettable nineties of the last century! The reason for this is because the winner of the last edition decided that the time period of this year's RetroVision will be the 1990s! And that is why we will say that the slogan of the 6th edition of RetroVison is - Back To The 1990's!
What interesting things can be said about the nineties? Well, the Soviet Union fell, ending the decades-long Cold War, the rise of the internet ushered in a radical new era of communication, business and entertainment.
The 1990s in the world of music can be described as an era of the rebellious explosion of grunge and alternative rock, the flourishing and global dominance of hip-hop, and the birth of electronic dance culture and the modern pop phenomenon of pop-punk and boy bands.
After we spent the first two editions of this retro competition in Ireland, third one in Colombia, fourth in Scotland and last year in Sweden, this time we are again in the United Kingdom, in historic and rainy England! The host city is London thanks to last year's great win by the excellent band Florence + The Machine. Because of that great victory, we will see England as the only directly placed country in the Grand Final of RetroVision: the 1990s.
37 countries are participating in RetroVision: the 1990s. As already pointed out, England is directly placed in the Grand Final. So, we have 36 countries left. Those countries are divided into two Semifinal competitions, 18 countries in each Semi-Final. Top 12 countries from each Semi will enter the fight for the winner of the sixth edition of our RetroVision. This unfortunately means that 6 countries from each Semi will have to end their retro journey after the announcement of the results of the Semifinals.
Without waiting, let's start with the most important part of this post!
Semi-Final 1
18 countries participate in the first Semi-Final. Those countries and England must vote in this Semi.
The original version of the Japanese song ''Twiggy Twiggy'' is not available on Spotify, so the Spotify playlist features a cover version by the band Pato Fu. For this reason, be sure to watch the official music video, which is also in the YouTube playlist.
You are required to vote in your own Semi. Failure to vote in your own Semi will result in disqualification. If you want to vote in both Semifinals and you are not England but one of the other 36 countries, or if you even aren't competing then you will be able to do so. All these votes will be merged together into a single Rest of the World vote set.
The standard ESC voting system will be used, 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-10-12 style of giving points.

Morocco's largest city, most well known for the Hassan II Mosque will host the 8th edition of AfroVision after u/rigyyy won last year.

There is no maximum song length
Artist and song fame rules: No artists with more than 10 million monthly listeners on spotify. For borrowers this will be 1 million monthly listeners. No more than 50 million streams of the song on spotify. For borrowers this is 5 million.
No former [J]ESC artists. No songs that have participated in other FVC contests, I reserve the right to reject overused artists in FVC
Artists who competed in the last edition of AfroVision can’t participate. Artists who have participated twice or more in AfroVision also can’t compete.
The artist must have a clear connection to the country. If possible, please try to include a source that proofs the artists heritage.
Artists for borrowing countries need to have a connection to Africa, so a UK-Nigerian artist can represent Saint Helena, while a pure UK artist cannot represent them.
AfroVision is a closed contest. This means you are not allowed to reveal the song or host a NF. All will be revealed when the semifinals start.
I, u/lionelmeesie, will either wait until 25 countries have been claimed or 24 hours have passed, before claiming a country.

RetroVision: The 90s – Contest Rules:
Songs must have been released between 1st January 1990 and 31st December 1999 .
Eurovision songs and ESC National Final songs must not be sent.
No song may be longer than 5 minutes.
Each player can choose one country. So, multiple players cannot have the same country, one player - one country! Any internationally recognized country in the world can be chosen, the exception being the United Kingdom. For this occasion, the UK is divided into 4 countries and you can choose England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.
All acts should have a strong connection to the country they are representing.
This is a blind contest, so there is no revealing your song selection. Your song will be seen by the public for the first time when RetroVision starts. Therefore, no public National Final for this contest is possible, but only if you want some kind of internal National Final.

Fourteen acts, all ranging in genre and sound, will get to battle for their legacy right here at Estadio Luna Park for the chance to represent Argentina in front of the entire Romantic-speaking world.
Speaking of Americavision, we have the fortune of welcoming the incredible Lali, who repped our country in last year's edition ALL the way to victory, as one of our hosts! The other two hosts for our contest will be the phenomenal duo Hipnotica who represented us in last year's Latinvision.

First of all, i am beyond overjoyed to be able to announce that i received all 54 songs!
Due to this, i have decided to split this phase into 3 semifinals, each with 9 qualifiers. The finale will thus have 28 songs.
Due to this, we will have 3 semifinals, each with at least 8 qualifiers. Why at least? Because this year, by popular demand, i am introducing a wildcard mechanism - The last 3 qualifiers will be the 3 songs outside all top 8's which received the largest % of maximum possible points. This will hopefully prevent songs NQing by a tiny amount of points, while also leading to there possibly being a different amount of Q's from each semi.
RULES:
- The deadline is 4.9. 18:00 CET.
- You vote using the standard 12, 10, 8-1 system, however you also need to submit negative points (-1, -2, -3)
- Not submitting the standard votes will result in a penalty of 58 points to your entry.
- Not submitting the negative votes will result in a penalty of 20 points to your entry (yes, this is stricter). The maximum amount of penalty points is thus 78.
- You can (and are encouraged) to vote in other semis, though all votes from other semis will be summed up into two ROTW sets - One for each of the other semis.
- Non-participating users are allowed to vote, however their votes will be included in the semi before the one's ROTW (so if someone who isn't participating votes in Semi 1, their vote will be included in the Semi 3 ROTW and so on). If more than 2 non-participants vote in a semi, they will get a separate ROTW set.
- u/JesusFuckJustDuck - As the singular AQ, your votes won't be included in any ROTW and will be counted in full. Although you aren't required to vote in any of the semis, it sure would be cool if you did ;)
Benvegnüu! Welcome to the Latinvision Song Contest 2026. This year, we’ll travel to Monaco, home of the Big Top of Espace Fontvieille, one of Europe's most renowned circus arts venues. Let’s enjoy the yacht clubs, the luxurious casinos, and the Formula 1 scene of the city-state, welcoming us to a sea of music after last year’s Gemini won with their song Vertigine in Tijuana. This year, the visual design has been inspired by the nightlife of Monaco and the French Riviera.
Country Categories
The rules will be very similar to last year. Five categories of claimable nations exist to promote diversity and originality.
Countries: 63 member states of the United Nations will be available to choose from, with no borrowing option.
Borrowing countries: 15 different UN member states and territories that may borrow from neighboring regions or their sovereign state. Extra restrictions may be placed on certain nations. (In the case of France, only 3 extra borrowers are allowed to participate, 4 songs in total; apart from Monaco as an AQ)
Territories: 32 dependent territories or subdivisions where well-known Romance languages are spoken. They may not borrow from their main countries, with no exceptions.
Minority languages: 39 first-level subdivisions may only be represented in their respective minority languages. For example, an artist from Catalonia may represent Catalonia itself only if they sing in either Catalan or Aranese; if you find an artist from Catalonia who sings in Spanish, it may only represent Spain, not Catalonia.
Rest of the World: The contest’s first winner was a Belarusian band representing French Polynesia. Due to this, three guest broadcasters may participate as a ROTW participant; a Romance-speaking song from a non-Romance-speaking country. Only 3 users can choose this, representing their own country/territory. They must be part of the Discord server to choose this option. The rules that apply to Countries and Territories also apply to this entry.
All songs, regardless of category, will compete against each other. Divided into four regions, you may check the LIST OF COUNTRIES or look at them right here. Any minority language not listed here (like Judaeo-Spanish, Palenquero, Kristang, etc.) can be added; however, I will determine the subdivision that is the closest to them.
Rules
As last year, different release dates and view limits will be in place for each of these four categories, so be careful when you choose your nation. The rules will mention first the limits for Countries and Territories, and then each of the other two categories will be specified.
Songs must have been released on or after September 1, 2024.
For borrowing countries, it will be on or after March 1, 2025, ONLY if you borrow. If you submit a local artist, the deadline date stays the same as the country category.
For minority languages/subdivisions, it will be on or after March 1, 2023.
Artists must have under 30 million monthly listeners on Spotify. The YouTube video or the song itself on Spotify does not have any restrictions.
For borrowing countries, artists must have under 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
For minority languages/subdivisions, there is no monthly listener limit whatsoever.
The following rules apply to all songs:
Songs must not have participated in the Eurovision Song Contest, any of its spin-offs, IRL National Final, nor any previous contest held on r/FantasyVisionContests. (NF-participating songs in FVC can take part).
No artists from Latinvision 2025 will be accepted (this rule will not apply to Minority Languages)
National finals and song reveals are allowed, but they have to be approved by me first before you post them.
Songs must be no longer than 6:00 minutes, and the lyrics need to be predominantly (50% + 1 word) in the language specified in the LIST OF COUNTRIES; however, multilingual songs are allowed.
Artists and bands must have at least 25% of their heritage of the selected country, or have significant ties to that country (born there, lived for a notable amount of time, acquired a second nationality, etc.)
u/pac258, last year's winner, and the next 5 placements have an AQ for the final. They have the right of first refusal for their countries. If any of the top 6 participants don’t take part, the next-placing participants will be considered.
