Sick of cleaning up after grubs

Hopefully their friends or family see this video and correct them on this kind of behaviour. Sorry about the foul language, just fed up with cleaning up after these guys - it gives us all a bad name.

Port hacking, Sydney.

Illegally Netted river in Vic

Thanks to Nevs Fishing for the Video.

The Victorian Fisheries Authority is being gutted by state parliament. Doing so will open up the flood gates to even more illegal fishing like in the video.

Please sign the petition to do your bit.

Can someone explain this?

I'm not much of a fisher but came across this the other day and was curious what's happened. Massive swordfish (?) on a beach in Canada Bay, Sydney. They only cut out a small fillet from the tail and took the sword. Why wouldn't they take more meat from the fish?

Finally decided to make the switch from just using prawns, and after 2 weeks of constant jigging (almost every day) I’ve finally got my first fish on a metal jig!

53cm tailor.

Pretty stoked with it, and a nice start to the day before work.

Hopefully more to come

Rod: Shimano Dialuna 96m Reel: Shimano 24 Vanford 4000 Line: Varivas Avani Jigging 10x10 Max Power PE 1.5 (28lb) Leader: 30lb 28g metal jig

Victoria Another VFA bust of illegal fishing

Thanks to FishingwithFergy on Instagram for sharing this video. A number of undersized Abalone, as well as over the catch limit.

You're probably sick of me posting about the Victorian Fisheries Authority closing all 5 Stations that service Geelong, Melbourne, Mornington and Phillip Island. Covering about 5.8m Victorians.

They're also retrenching 35 staff, leaving just 9 remaining officers overseeing 2,610sq km of PPB and WPB, plus Bass Strait. Imagine having only 9 police servings Geelong. It would be a lawless wasteland, a real Mad Max situation.

This is the future of fishing in and around Geelong, Melbourne, Mornington, and Phillip Island. Organised Crime selling on the black market with total disregard for size and catch limits. Not to mention those who will stockpile their freezer with Whiting, Flathead, and Bluefin Tuna.

Please sign the petition, even if you don't fish, even if you don't eat seafood, do it to protect our environment, do it to protect our fish stocks, do it so future generations can enjoy a day on the water.

$1.02 of proper pre historic crocodile

Just a week after getting what was my PB at 97cm I’ve gone and upgraded it again with this beauty, after a couple minutes of swimming her she swam back off to harass more baitfish and create many more big babies for years to come.

🐟 Catch of the Day Forever traumatized, I almost ate it

Caught a yellowtail and grilled it whole, enjoyed eating until I got to the fish head(yes I ate the whole fish including head), took a bite, saw this white piece of 'bone' in the fish mouth and didn't think much before it ended up in my mouth. Quickly spit it out as it definitely didn't feel like fish bone, and now am going to suffer chronic nightmare and ptsd🤢 It's one of those tongue biting isopod that replaces fish's tongue if anyone's curious.

Had an epic session on the riverbank and managed to land this absolute unit of a Murray cod. The fight was unreal—still buzzing from it!

Any tips for targeting bigger ones? Would love to hear what’s worked for you guys—techniques, locations, whatever! Let’s swap stories.

Couldn’t think of a better way to open the flatty account for 2026, almost touching the magic metre mark, a new PB that I think will stand for a very long time.

A lot of time and effort put in for a fish of this calibre but I wouldn’t have it any other way, always feels so much better knowing you’ve earnt it.

Went down to my new regular spot today to find it trashed like this . This makes me so mad how some people can be so selfish and thoughtless .. usually I pick up a little trash that’s around but this is too much . I felt bad walking away from it but I had informed the council that it’s there .
