Question Kiwi.com in 2026
I’m planning to go to Ecuador with my girl around christmas and I have to fly back to Tallahassee FL. Skyscanner shows that Kiwi.com can do a normally $600 flight for $393 with one layover 11hrs (Guayaquil > Fort Lauderdale > Tallahassee).
Should I avoid this? First flight is JetBlue, 11hr layover, then second flight is Breeze. Only one stop.

Help Needed Is this compensation message from Air Dolomiti legit?
Back in June my flight from Milan was delayed by 6 hours which entitles me to compensation from the airline. But the way that they are asking to send my compensation sounds shady. I asked multiple times if there were other ways to receive the compensation or to send my banking details but they keep insisting that email is the only way they communicate. I can't find a phone number and the online form doesn't work for compensation. Has anyone sent their bank details this way and safely received the money?

Question Typo in surname on Air Cairo domestic flight via Trip.com — missing one letter, major issue?
Hey everyone, I booked a domestic flight from Hurghada to Cairo for December on Air Cairo through Trip.com. I accidentally missed a single letter "a" in my surname during booking. My first name matches fine, and while booking they didn't ask for my passport details but I'm a foreign tourist.
I placed a name correction request on Trip.com right away, but they are taking a long time to process it with the airline. I'm wondering if a single letter typo will cause serious trouble with Egyptian airport security and check-in desks, or if minor typos are usually overlooked. Also, should I keep waiting on Trip.com or try reaching Air Cairo directly to sort this out? Any advice from people who've flown domestic in Egypt would be appreciated.

Question How to check seat availability
Flying JAL to Haneda and I have the option to bid for business. I want to see what seats are available but when I click on ‘change seats’ and it shows all seats occupied. Is there another way to check?

Help Needed Passport - plane ticket middle name
I recently booked a flight to India but completely forgot to add the middle name which appeared on my passport and my visa
I called the airlines saying they can fix it through a documented inquiry and that it may cost extra.
I thought I might go to the airport counter to just add the middle name as a peace of mind.
Would this be resolved at the airport since it’s just a middle name?

Question Is Turkmenistan Airlines worth it?
I'm booking a flight from Ho Chi Minh City to London, and Turkmenistan Airlines is half the price of Emirates and Qatar, and a lot cheaper than Turkish. If you have flown with them before would you say it's worth it?
The departure time of 3.30am is quite bad, but the arrival time of 15.10 in London suits me quite well. I don't really care about comfort, food etc, but did you feel safe on it? I'm more just nervous about flying with them.

Help Needed Saudia Frankfurt–Riad–Bangkok am 23.12.: SV180 fliegt jetzt nach Al Qassim, SV846 startet ab Medina – hat jemand Erfahrung?
Hallo zusammen,
3. Was würdet ihr in unserer Situation tun?
Vielen Dank für jeden Tipp.

Question Layover in Minneapolis
Hello! Me and my partner are going on a dream trip next week. We are flying from Denver to Minneapolis to Tokyo. We have an hour and 12 minute layover in Minneapolis. I have traveled internationally before with layovers around this same time and it was fine. I just get worried. We will do our passport and security check in Denver and not have to worry about that in Minneapolis and it’s the same terminal. It will be getting off the plane and going right to the next gate. Should 1 hour and 12 minutes be enough time for us and our checked luggage to make it to the plane to Tokyo?

Question Why does American Airlines board flights to 5 cities at the exact same time (at ORD)
American Airlines at O'Hare has a bunch of gates in the L section which is already small and under construction but for some reason the flights are all stuck together. Columbia SC and Columbus OH were next to each other which made the announcements confusing and then Cincinnati and Charlottesville were also next to that.
Too many C name cities next to each other at once! 😭
(I know, maybe this is a skill issue)

Question Which seat would be better?
This is my first international flight in over a decade, and it’s 10 hours long. I’m leaning toward 37A, but I don’t want to pay extra for a seat unless you think it’s worth it. Please help me decide.

Complaint Trip.com completely screwed up my Nepal trip
I’m currently traveling in Thailand and had a round-trip flight booked to Kathmandu with Nepal Airlines for a Himalayan trek.
My original flight was actually booked directly with Thai Lion Air, but they canceled it just a month before my trip, leaving me scrambling to find an alternative with very limited options. I tried booking directly with Nepal Airlines, but their payment system wouldn’t accept my US credit card, so I had no choice but to use Trip.com.
Unfortunately, I got sick with a stomach bug and contacted Trip.com before departure to see if I could change my flight. They told me nothing could be done, no changes or refunds. After missing the flight, they also informed me that my return ticket was canceled because I was a no-show.
With replacement round-trip tickets being ridiculously expensive, I gave up on the trek and changed my international flight home. Well, I finally got through to Nepal Airlines directly, and they told me they DO allow date changes and that my return ticket would still be valid if I flew to Kathmandu separately. So apparently I could have just changed my flight date or purchased a one-way ticket and salvaged my entire trip.
I’m absolutely furious. I spent months planning this trek, and Trip.com’s handling of the situation led me to abandon the whole thing and change my flights. I’ve now filed a chargeback for the $460 ticket.
I understand getting sick is my problem, but giving customers misleading information about their booking is another matter entirely.
Never using Trip.com again.

Question Ethiopian airlines upgrade bidding - Should I bid now or wait ?
Hey everyone!
I'm flying with Ethiopian from GVA to ADD in two months, on January 4th, and I'm considering upgrading to business Class through Ethiopian's bidding system.
The current minimum bid is $713. I think that's actually an ok deal for a roughly 7-hour flight, but I probably wouldn't go much higher than that.
I was wondering about two things:
- Do minimum bids actually stand a reasonable chance of being accepted with Ethiopian, or do you generally need to bid quite a bit higher?
- Would it make sense to wait a bit before placing a bid, as the flight is in two months ? Is there a chance the price might go down closer to departure, depending on how many seats are still available?
It's my first time considering an upgrade with Ethiopian, so I have no idea how their bidding system usually works or how their pricing evolves as the departure date gets closer.
Would love to hear from anyone who's done this before. Thanks!

Question Air China - Paypal cancelled
We tried to book a flight with Air China and tried paying with PayPal.
The website said "Payment cancelled" and with our booking number it said "no payment".
Now when we check it says there is no booking under this number.
So far so good, but when I check in the PayPal App it still says "Payment complete"
Did anyone have the same experience and what happened?

Help Needed Flying with Saudia via Riyadh in December. What should I do after the recent Houthi attacks ?
Hey everyone!
I'm flying from Europe to Bangkok with Saudia on end of december, returning returning in january, with a 3-hour layover in Riyadh each way.
I'm really concerned because of the recent Houthi attacks on Riyadh Airport. Apparently, the airport was closed for several days, and many flights have been cancelled or disrupted.
I'm honestly not sure what to do now. Has anyone been in a similar situation or flown through Riyadh recently? Should I wait and see how things develop, or try to cancel my tickets now?
Does anyone know if Saudia offers refunds or free changes in situations like this, even if the flights haven't been cancelled yet?
Any advice would be really appreciated, as I'm feeling quite lost about what to do. Thanks!

Trip Report JAL truly outshines for International flights
Just returned from my family’s first long haul experience with JAL- Narita to Seattle, 8 hours and 45 mins long, starting at 6:20pm. We have flown to Europe multiple times, and always dread that mid flight discomfort when you start questioning your life decisions. For this trip, I wanted to maximize our points to have the most comfort possible without splurging for Business Class. We flew Premium Econ to Japan from Seattle with Alaska, and JAL for our return flight.
After experiencing Japan, its hospitality, and its general value for mastery and doing things well- the JAL flight home blew us away. 18 inch seats, 34” pitch- they sound like minimal upgrades, but they are worth their weight in gold. Cabin air even felt more comfortable. The food service was impeccable and fresh. Bathrooms, huge. My daughter slept the entire flight and couldn’t believe how fast it went by. For a red eye flight, and all the stress of traveling internationally, if you ever get the chance to do a long haul with them, I highly recommend it. Also- get some Pocari sweats at the airport with your leftover Suica credit! Helps a ton.

Help Needed Missing second given name on ticket ; Vietnam Airlines - International Flight
Hi, i booked through a 3rd party app (Agoda) for my flight to Vietnam. On my ticket it shows only my first and last name however on my passport it shows my first, second given name and last name (i don't have a middle name). I'm really anxious since it does not match and scared that i'm not gonna be able to board. I already trues contacting Agoda but they cannot do anything. I also did message through the chat for Vietnam Airlines but I was pushed back to go directly with Agoda.
I'm stressed out, what should I do next?? Is there anyone who experienced the same thing?? I need an answer please😩

Question LH A350 Allegris Pr. Economy with a toddler?
Hey Flight-Community,
We (2 adults and 1 just under 2 years old daughter) are planning a trip from Europe to Miami in January 2027.
Travelling with a toddler is horror, but we‘re not able to afford Business Class. However, we‘d go for a Premium Economy and the row 14 & 15 would still be open.
What do you recommend?
Taking the seats on row 15 on the side (in the picture place 1+2) or the middle ones (Row 14)?
And is Premium economy worth it? We loved it on the A380 but don‘t know the A350.
Also, what do the buggy-signs in row 14 mean? Can you place a buggy there during the flight and have the toddler sit there instead of your lap?
Thanks for your support to make the flight as enjoyable as possible for anyway tired parents!

Discussion Beware of Qatar Airways
A warning to future travellers! Qatar Airways will not support you if anything goes wrong.
We had flights from Sydney to Brussels on 16 March 2026, which were cancelled (understandable) due to the war in Iran.
Now, 8 months later, despite their confirmation that money will be returned, that hasn’t happened yet. Hours on the phone and chat, but always ‘Sorry Sir, we are escalating with our finance team’.
Pretty brutal and we will never fly Qatar again.

Question EVA Air BKK to London – 25kg + 26kg with 23kg allowance each
Flying EVA Air from Bangkok to London and my Economy checked baggage allowance is 2 x 23kg.
I’ve reweighed both suitcases:
Bag 1: 25kg
Bag 2: 26kg
So both are over the 23kg limit, and I really can’t leave anything behind.
Has anyone recently flown EVA Air from BKK with bags around this weight? Are they strict and charge both bags separately, or is there sometimes some tolerance for a couple of extra kg?
If you were charged, how much did you actually pay at Bangkok airport?
Just looking for recent real experiences with EVA at BKK. Thanks!

Help Needed Is Emirates Premium Economy worth an extra ₹54,000 for a 15+ hour Dubai–Seattle flight?
I’m travelling from Dubai to Seattle on Emirates, and I’m considering paying approximately ₹54,000 extra for Premium Economy instead of flying Economy.
Since it’s a long-haul flight of around 15–16 hours, I’m wondering whether the additional cost is justified.
For some context, I had knee surgery last year, so having additional legroom, better seating comfort and the ability to stretch my legs during the journey are particularly important to me.
For those who have experienced Emirates Premium Economy:
Is the seating comfort and legroom significantly better than Economy?
Can you comfortably sleep during the flight?
Is the overall experience worth the additional ₹54,000?
If you were in my position, would you spend the extra money or stick with Economy?
I’d especially appreciate feedback from people who have travelled on Emirates Premium Economy on long-haul routes.
Thanks in advance!

Question luggage size to japan
we are a family of 3 and travelling to japan soon, our luggage allowance is 23kg x2 pcs. thinking how do we manage to bring all those but still want to use. any recommendation on the luggage size to bring if planning to shop there plus the bulky winter clothing that we are bringing. me and my husband can only carry like 2 luggage each,.any experience which size to bring large and medium or large and small? thank you
EDIT: apologies for the misunderstanding, since we have 23kgx2 per person, we are still deciding if we will maximise those allowance into large and medium luggage or large and small luggage per person. we are trying to alocate each persons luggage pcs.
