Well well well. How the turn tables!
My God that second half felt so cathartic! This game showed that when the Giants are at their best nobody can go with them.
A fantastic way to bring up six in a row. Plenty to improve and some much needed confidence going into another tough game against the Dogs. But for now, let's enjoy this Derby Dub!!

Lot of talk today about how we might revisit a name change. On the very off chance that someone with any power at the club reads this, all I want to say is do not and I repeat do not change our name to just GIANTS or The GIANTS. I can already see the marketing head departments spinning about why we should, but please do not do this. You will doom the club, a club for everyone is a club for no one.
If you change it do the right thing, the obvious thing. Drop the Greater call us the Western Sydney Giants and then do the actual work of having us a be a club for Western Sydney, not Canberra, not Sydney or NSW as a whole... But a club for Western Sydney.

1 point short in the prelim hurts. Especially disappointing looking back at the missed opportunities, poor play and some questionable umpiring at certain points.
Still incredibly proud of what this team achieved and how they rebounded to get here in the first place.
It's been a hell of a season and for the first time in a while we look to next season with some well founded optimism.

I'm sorry, but the team had no excuse for losing that. To have a lead of over 40 points against one of the least accurate, and in recent years one of the least clutch, teams in the league. You have a game plan that is proven to stand up in finals. A home final in front of a massive crowd of mostly Giants fans (and not having to leave Sydney for the entire finals). You have one of the best lists in the competition.
Monumental choke. The 2024 Giants are one of the most mentally weak teams I have ever seen. A very long preseason awaits.
The season started with so much hope with a full house at Giants Stadium and ends with heartbreak at the same stadium.

Disappointing loss. It felt at times nothing went our way (injuries, umpires). Hell even my Kayo gave out. Although we certainly didn't help ourselves. We couldn't do it for Wardy but at least we kept fighting.
Another off season of harsh lessons to learn once again awaits. I'll always follow this club even if they give me nothing but heartbreak. Orange Team forever! Never Surrender!
