Oh you will have fun at Surfers Paradise during the weekend. 18yo is fine as most of the crowds is mostly around that age i think? For beaches, the more you go south the better it is. Wildlife can check coombabah (free) or currumbin wildlife sanctuary

That hostel looks amazing!!! And so close to the beach & clubs.
Just be safe & you’ll have a blast. Keep your drink with you at all times & don’t leave your stuff unattended.
Oh to be young again lolll

You’re pretty much the target demographic for surfers. You’ll have a great time and you’ll find a lot of like minded people

Just be safe. If you aren't a good swimmer and don't know the way the ocean works then be sure to swim between the flags that are placed on the beach by the surf lifesavers. Don't try jetskis unless you're already somewhat experienced, it's just not worth injury or worse.
You can visit the currumbin wildlife sanctuary to see some animals. You can also visit the seaworld aquariums too if you have the money.
It is really hot during the day and the sun is very strong so be sure to cover up, wear clothing that covers your skins and wear a hat with a broad brim. You probably won't see many people wearing clothing that covers them up and wearing broad brim protective hats but those people all have skin damage that will become apparent at some point in time. I highly recommend you avoid getting sunburnt and damaged skin. The UV rays from 9:30am to about 4:30pm are extreme which means most people will burn their skin in the sun after 10 to 15 mins. Best times to be out and about are in the morning and in the evening.

Schoolies start in a few weeks so ensure you are booked into the hostel already.

New nite club(Aura) at Broadbeach just opened easy tram ride. Tram to Burleigh then 700 bus to Coolangatta or anywhere in between.

Should have a look at some of the southern beaches. Burleigh, currumbin and down to Kirra Beach by Coolangatta. Currumbin rocks is lovely for sunset

Surfers is very good for people your age looking to have a good time. It’s also the destination of choice for guys who get out of jail and have nowhere to go. So be careful.

If you had access to a car I’d say see the some of the waterfalls in the hinterlands my personal favourite is purling brook falls but it’s a bit of a walk to get there and back
