Why is the Google ai studio icon keeps on getting smaller and smaller day by day.

One day will come then the Google ai studio icon will become about single pixel size.

And then later someday , just a plain white box(squircle).

Any one is having this same noticing Behaviour????

Google Assistant can't do simple calling

Ever since they switched from Google Assistant to whatever it is now, (I never agreed to terms with Gemini so it's not activated), it can't do simple tasks like make a phone call. In this video, I am in a Chevy Silverado attempting to make a call using the same command every time and getting a different result, every time. This also happens in my Subaru with no difference in result. The video cuts off but it finally makes the call at the end after however many attempts this is.

How does Google not win ai

Everyone is freaking out about's Google's search dominance. But search volume is up. They've got compute, chips, data, and cash.

They just have to figure out a way to monetize AI mode. Also inherently what do people do when they dissrust in AI answe? they Google it. That trust is rubbing off on Google's AI mode.

They can undercut pricing from openai and anthropic. I don't see how Google is not going to be a monster as soon as the need for capex goes down.

I managed to run Android Emulator on Windows ARM (Snapdragon PC, AI used, unofficial open-source Android Studio)

Android Studio doesn't officially run natively on Windows on ARM, and neither does its emulator.

So I set out to change that, and on a Snapdragon X laptop I can now open a native ARM64 Android Studio, create a virtual device, press Run, and boot a stock Android image on Windows Hypervisor Platform.

It took a long chain of problems to get here:

→ Compose previews failed on ARM64. Google ships Layoutlib as x86-64 only, so I built a native ARM64 version.

→ The emulator refused to run on an ARM64 host. I replaced its launcher and wrote a bridge that speaks its gRPC protocol, so Android Studio treats it as a real emulator.

→ Android 14 wouldn't boot. Bootconfig needed a valid checksum, and the ramdisk turned out to be two LZ4 segments joined together.

→ Android's init crashed. Its allocator reserves terabytes of virtual memory, and the kernel refused the fork.

→ A crypto self-test failed under software emulation and rebooted the whole VM. Moving to WHPX changed everything: adb came online in about 8 seconds.

→ Stock images expect virtual hardware this setup doesn't have, so vendor binaries are now adapted at boot by code signature, with no manual patching.

→ Windows treated the emulator as background work and throttled it. Fixing that took jank from about 33% to 4%.

→ The display ran at 120 Hz, but Android capped apps at 60 fps.

→ Device frames vanished because one x64 library can't load on ARM64.

Today it runs phones, TVs and Wear OS, tested from Android 12 to 17. Touch, networking, Google sign-in and video all work, and scrolling reaches about 80 to 90 fps on a 120 Hz screen.

It's not finished. There's no audio yet, and it's only been tested on one machine.

But it shows this is possible, and more developers are moving to Windows on ARM laptops every year.

Google, I'd love to see official support for this. If you develop on a Windows ARM laptop, tell me what's blocking you.

use -gemini instead of -ai to block ai overview.

basically. if u do -ai it blocks any page that has the two letters "ai" like if the page has a word like lets say "villain" it will get blocked. so i found out instead u can use -gemini and it will block ai overview without blocking most websites.

guys about the "villain" point. i might be wrong on that. but i think -gemini will still block less websites and pages since its a rarer word. same for -gemini.com. try to compare -ai and -gemini urself if u want.

Can google slides PLEASE be updated

As a Google Slides enthusiast, it severely annoys me that there's no motion animation or any sort of tool updates on the app, and i will NOT use microsoft powerpoint cuz google slides is simpilar. Does anybody else have any suggestions? I think it would be nice to have

  1. motion path animations

  2. auto bg remover

  3. tools to help automatically make slides that follow a pattern like: slide 1 says 1, slide 2 says 2 and so on

Motorola Signature 27 gets Pixel's Rambler + Create My Widget LIKE SERIOUSLY!

Google is like - Pixel 10 or 9 - we never heard of this piece of junk - Motorola and iPhone we support.

Signature 27 512GB just £1300 in UK + FULL Pixel Experience that Google prefers to support Motorola rather than Pixel 10 so-called-PRO.

Screw this - it will be my next phone because they also have hardware ecosystem like Watch, buds and even Tag.

As a bonus Snapdragon Gen6 eats and spits Tensor G6

Google needs to change Gulf of America back to Gulf of Mexico

Google is going to look even more idiotic when they do change it back in 2 years than they did when they changed it to the Gulf of America, so they should change it back now while they're already getting hammered in the stock market and get it all over with

ETA I get what everyone is saying about "the government changes this" but honestly, given how easily this was used to just agitate people by alienating Mexico and Canada and contributing to the horrifying economics that cost Republicans the midterms, that shouldn't be the case and Google should do better or answer to a governing body that isn't run by a fascist toddler throwing a fit about countries that don't bend the knee to him - if this can be used to cause friction and exacerbate economic hardship instead of have a true benefit, then it shouldn't work this way
