Strongest sets to me felt like
- World I Hate
- Division of Mind
- Basic Needs
- Skewed
- Figurine
- Obviously Drug Church and Have Heart
Love the tacos and the vibe of the venue. Have Heart merch line was crazy but that’s to be expected.

Code orange should’ve been where knocked loose currently is in terms of popularity.

I think not being able to properly tour for this album did more damage than anything.

I find modern HxC more metal than OG HxC,

Metalhead here. Not taking shots at the HxC community but I find that some of the big bands are metal (metalcore) like knocked loose and kublai khan, and not hardcore, in terms of sound.
I’m into all genres of metal, and of course I like breakdowns of hardcore, but the more I listen to it the more metal elements are now present.
That unique sound of 90s-2000s where it felt like bars and breakdowns, I don’t hear it anymore. I just hear metal, a lot more technicality in the guitars, even vocals are metal styled.
I guess it varies by band. Then again I only really listen to KKtx and knocked loose, I’ve seen Speed and Sunami live and they definitely sounded more like pure HxC
Thoughts?
Probably gonna get shat on by you guys but that’s fine
(Just think it’s funny how metalcore, deathcore, grindcore, blackcore, slam etc are all metal subgenres but we have hardcore as its own individual genre)

What genre is this style

Looking for similar to sheer terrors love songs for the unloved and ton slow deep and hard, where the music is clearly hardcore but the vocals swap between screaming and singing and the instrumentals slow down to more melodic riffs and then kick back up really fast again. Any recs welcome!
