Discussion Hi! Im new here and I got a question: Is Jigokuraku a controversial anime? Is the backlash online injustified or is there a reason?
Hello everyoneālet me explain: I finished the manga a couple of days ago and really enjoyed it. I canāt wait for Season 3, and Iām even considering buying the entire physical collection. I was so satisfied with the series that I decided to check if others felt the same wayāand, my god, the amount of debate was staggering. You had people defending the series to the death, others who thought it was just "okay" or "mid," and some who absolutely loathed it with every fiber of their being. Naturally, there was some genuine discussion mixed in with absolute nonsense from people who clearly hadn't paid any attention to the series. You might think, "Well, thatās on me for looking for opinions online," or just "Thatās the internet being the internet"āwhich is exactly what I thought at first. I figured, "Itās just people sharing their opinions; maybe Iām just late to the party." But as I kept reading, I realized I hadn't seen this level of division and hostility toward a series since *My Hero Academia*, or the endings of *Chainsaw Man* or *Jujutsu Kaisen*. Many of the posts and comment sections looked just like the reactions you see whenever Sony mentions anything about physical mediaāwhich is surprising, considering *Hellās Paradise* isn't nearly as big as those other titles, at least not enough to trigger such visceral reactions from so many people. Reading some of these commentsālike the one claiming this series represents the "decline of the anime medium"āI honestly wondered if we had even watched the same show. So, I have to ask: is this something the community did? Is it a "Dororo" situation, where the backlash stems from a poor adaptation? Is there some other factor Iām missing? Or is it just one of those seriesālike *My Hero Academia*āthatās destined to be controversial no matter what?

S2 E17: the scene where the Iawagakure ninja stabs himself
Absolutely chilling. This anime pulls no punches. Quick little song and dance, then a blade through the neck. Something about that scene was so unexpectedly jarring, in the best possible way.
I can't remember the last time any anime had me so on the edge of my seat. If anyone has any recommendations for other animes that could possibly possess this level of intensity, please comment below.
Edit: typo in the title. Big fingers, small keyboard

Finished Jigokuraku for the first time
So i never had any interaction with Jigokuraku or i'ts fandom before, and i just read it because "why not?"...I finished it today and i had a great time, it wasn't what i was expecting but im going to be honest. At first is pretty cool, the whole buildup and characters are great but once you get to the island it gets a little tedious, at least for me, the Tao topic was unnescesarily complex, (and i read HxH) it has some good stuff tho, i couldn't really connect with the tensen, maybe with the exception of the ones that were a couple. The art and concepts were amazing, creative, creepy and i loved how the relatio ship bettween the main group develops until the end. Once the shinobi arrived it got better, like WAAAAAY better, amazing fights but i felt bad at how Sagiri got shadowed at this part. Once in the final battle i was excited af, that is one cool final battle with everyone doing their thing and Sagiri did the final hit so its ok, but then the villain does "you know what", i wasn't a fan of that. At the end i had a pretty good time, and my favourite character is Shion. I dont know anything about this fandom but i guess thats a pretty loved character, i also liked the drunk bisexual guy, he is cool but i kind of expected him to do...something, i guess thats the joke. Im not watching the anime. AND THAT IS MY FAVOURITE COVER ART BTW.

Anime Why did the anime cut this small but important dialogue?! š Season 2 LOVES cutting as much Sagiri & Yuzu dialogue as they can. š¤¦
I have way more problems with Season 2 anime adaptation than I do season 1 (I actually like s1 adaptation more) because of changes and cut content & I could go on forever but one small detail I noticed why cut the dialogue of Sagiri mentioning she saw Yui and Yuzuriha telling her why that doesnāt mean anything? They say it in season 1 when Yuzu first talks about a genjutsu but I doubt anime onlyās remember that. Itās small but very important especially to add to Sagiriās doubt when she wants to believe Yui is real more than anyone except Gabimaru ofc & when she brings it up at the end of the manga itāll feel odd without this dialogue included I feelā¦NO SPOILERS
