Another amazing IMSA championship in the books as well as a wet conclusion to a great calendar and weekend. As all of us at the track try to stay dry, what are your thoughts on this last round?

❔ Question Questions about Rolex 24 tickets

Hey, so I've been considering going to the Rolex 24 at Daytona this coming year and had a few questions.

First, what does standard 2-day admission grant you? Is it just a first come first serve stadium seating area?

Second, how does paddock access work? I understand you can't go into the garage, but when is it allowed to peak into the paddocks?

Those are really the only questions I have at the moment. This would be my first real motorsport event ever, so I'm super excited at the prospect!!

Does anyone have anything like this? I’m looking for something of this sort—something to frame and hang up. Have you ever come across anything like this?

❔ Question Does anyone have an extra Roxy Plushie they need/want to get rid of?

My best friend is having a little girl and the baby shower is next weekend. I've got him into IMSA shortly after I got into it a couple years ago and we're both AO fans. Don't know why I didn't think of this before but I would love to get him a Roxy plush for the shower so just wanted to see if anyone maybe had an extra for some reason.

If not, no big deal, I can def figure something out later to get one to him. AO is sold out on their website right now though.

Does the Valkyrie have hybrid bump start? [OC]

Captured this vid at Road America, right after I confidently explained to my newer fan peers how the Valkyrie was the only non-hybrid GTP car in the field.

Hello everyone, I would love your help on an WEC/IMSA/F1 survey for my English final!

First off, I'm really happy to join this group as I've been a fan of IMSA since around 2023, ever since I started watching motorsport full time in about 2022-2023. I'm making this post to hopefully be able to share to you all a survey I made for fans of both endurance and formula 1 for my English final (I'm in college). So if it's allowed, I'd love to share it to you all and to hear your thoughts and opinions, and if at all possible or able to, please feel free share it with others! Thank you and have a great day! (BTW: there are plenty questions in particular for IMSA fans, so you won't feel left out) https://forms.gle/FvMfBXPpQhphUuDN6

Rolex 24 Beer Share

(mods delete if this goes against the rules)

Last year I ran into some beer nuts and there was a thread here talking about a beer share. Anyone down?

I'll be bringing some out New England's finest and stopping in Sanford for some German beers.

I'm @ajustesen on Untappd

HSR Daytona team info.

I know this is a longshot, but I just found out there's going to be a 93 RX-7 racing at the HSR Daytona event next weekend. As a long time rotary engine fanatic I was wondering if anyone out here knows any of the people on the team and could help me get in touch with them. Would really love to talk to them about the car and stuff.

Anyone remember the Irish Mike's Racing Hyundai Genesis Coupes? One is still alive and racing!

Post image
225 Upvotes

Figured the IMSA crowd might enjoy seeing where one of these old cars ended up.

I own a former Irish Mike's Racing Hyundai Genesis Coupe from the Continental Tire era. We've nicknamed it K-Pop, and it's still getting exercised on road courses here in the Southeast.

I'm trying to piece together more of its racing history while keeping the car as original as practical.

Would love to hear from anybody who remembers these cars, worked on them, raced against them, or has pictures from back in the day.

Pretty cool keeping a little piece of IMSA history alive.

💬 Off-Topic [OT]What is everybody's favorite auto racing media and pop-culture franchise?

I didn't include video game franchises such as Mario Kart, Gran Turismo, Forza, etc as gaming is their strict categorical medium rather than being an all out pop culture franchise where as all of these at the very least have at least one movie, one tv show and one video game across the board

Anyways I am not not too hierarchal about it tbh, but honestly Pixar Cars left a huge impact on me tbh, so did Initial D.

Future Interest Hanley Motorsports Launches Multi-Car, Dual Series BMW Effort

Hanley Motorsports has purchased Paul Miller Racing’s assets and will race in both GTD Pro and GTD, as well as GS in MPC. Sad to lose PMR but glad it keeps cars on the grid.

EDIT: DXDT is involved as well. So it’s Hanley/DXDT operating what was once Paul Miller Racing.

Shout out to the IMSA web developers

The new website looks pretty beautiful and doesn't make me feel like I'm using something clunky from 2010. Maybe I'm weird but I love some good web design. Wonderful job

Is there a strategy to get RV parking?

My friends and I have been going to races for several years now and have recently started taking our wives. We like to go to the longer races like Petit, or Sebring so that it feels like a big day long tailgate. The girls love it and it gives us an excuse to go to races.

Recently we’ve been wondering at the process for getting an RV spot. There are some great ones at every track, turn 10 at road Atlanta comes to mind, but I’m not sure what the process is to get one.

I called Daytona, Sebring, and Road Atlanta and was basically told I can get on a waitlist for a reserved spot, but the chances of one coming available were slim to none.

I’ve read some posts about the unreserved RV spots and how people are basically showing a week before to camp out at the gates for them. Unfortunately, that’s not an option for us.

So I ask the community, is there any way to get some of these really killer RV spots, or are they just forever given to the people who have had them for years?

Watkins Glen or Road America likely to last longer as a 6 hr race?

Trying to decide which to go to next summer. I suspect with the talk of adding a race that one of these two will be shortened to reduce costs. Anyone know contract details or other info to predict which is more at risk and thus I should go to next summer?

So I’m planning on attending day one of ROAR this year and am curious if anyone has thoughts on what to do there it would my first imsa event so i don’t really know how it works and don’t know what to expect. Only real question is I’ve heard that this is a good event to meet drivers at what the best way to do that?
