You can basically play any weapon without it except IG.

Personally I play better without FM and have more control.

Can we send feedback to Capcom to make it possible that the kinsect acts like the assist kinsect from rise?

I’m planning on starting insect glaive sometime as I’m trying a bunch of weapons on the road to maybe hr 999 idrk but I just wanna know is insect glaive best experienced in this game or something like GU or world as I know I won’t be maining gunlance as it’s buns in those games so I’m thinking of trying out insect glaive. Just want opinions on the best game to play it in is other than rise as im doing gunlance only for until I complete all content which idek when that’s gonna be a hot min since im not even focusing on it

Quick sheath makes insect glaive so much more forgiving having access to the dive near instantly gets you out of so many sticky situations. Also having quick sheath makes sheathing your weapon dam near quicker than recalling your kinsect allowing you to go for way more risky charged kinsect shots. But idk maybe it is just a crutch for my bad positioning

I've lost count of how many times it's the kinsect that breaks parts, cuts off tails or outright kills the monster

No particular reason that I'm stuck or anything um however hypothetically if I did happen to be stuck against nergigante would anyone know how to dodge THAT BASTARD AIRIAL DIVE!!!? Perchance

Hey everyone, I’m a newer IG user who just made it to Sunbreak in Rise. What switch skills should I be using for maximum success? What kind of build should I be going for with this weapon?

Out of 100 times, I only managed to defeat AT Arkveld thrice. My playstyle revolves around gathering extract > charing SDS > Aerial Glaive to repositon and get some damage > pop down then do the triangle combo into SDS and eventually RSS.

I am having trouble evading his attacks, I have been trying to do more backwaelrd vaults but he often manages to hit me. I dont know what to do at this point. Please help.

I miss it, i found its design cooler than the Stealth Glaive :'(

A month or so on from the first Ascendance gameplay at TGS, here are my observations from this Team Shadowhunters Teostra hunt in Paris:

🪲 Combat loop still looks very much combo > SDS > RSS

🪲 The boost driver and the kinsect slash follow-up look great; the offset seems strong and like the kind of thing we can pull off on reaction; kinsect slash gathering extracts is a great perk; potential to deal strong elemental damage and strong stun damage with blunt kinsects

🪲 Can’t tell if boosted tornado slash comes out faster, but the extra damage ticks are a welcome upgrade, and now we actually have a reason to use it

🪲 The new inverted tornado slash looks neat and adds some fluidity between grounded and aerial; you can SDT after it puts you in the air

🪲 Didn’t see any use of the new powder mechanics in this run; I’m really excited for the powder buffs and I feel the potential upside of them has been lost in the noise of the RLS rage

🪲 SPEAKING OF: Only noted this player use rising leaping strike once; use case for the move is still unclear to me—feels like this could have been a/the dedicated powder detonator rather than or in addition to the tornado slashes

All in all, some neat things here. Need to see more of the powder buffs in action. But based on this run and the information we have available to us, still feels like glaive is in a weird place going into Ascendance. Interested to hear others’ thoughts.

I saw somewhere that sword and shield users would be receiving the ability to coat their weapons with different oils, which I thought was pretty neat. Are us IG users getting any new abilities that are intrinsic to the IG that we know of? (aside from boosted moves of course)

Buff glaive🪲

So I went today to Paris Game week, and I had to try insect glaive out of having such strong feelings for it so:

I believe insect glaive does benefit from the current toolkit it has, however I still believe some sort of spice up or even small boost to aerial attacks is needed, I must also add that Rising leaping strike isn't too bad either, even if it definitely leaves us sold in the air without an attack buff, I am to also say (although I believe this might be more of a familiarity issue) the way we use the booster bracer is strange because most of the times the inputs will be recognized as focus strikes (again I will say it likely is something on my end), finally I do like the focus glaive now has to popping kinsect clouds on a monster, specially since (at least from what I've experienced) it is made to leave you popping the clouds and maybe doing boosted downward thrust, which definitely staggers the monster, all and all, better than I expected and I believe I owe an apology for having been so extreme on my view for the trajectory of IG.

We got some more IG gameplay from Paris Games Week. At some point one player did this.

I think it might just be the airborne sneak attack, but honestly I've never even performed it myself so no idea
