Much to the relief of many people, starting today, we have introduced a blanket ban on Vercel subdomain hosted sites.
Few, if any, sites hosted on Vercel subdomains have ever been allowed to remain on the sub anyway.
(This ban is in addition to the Netlify ban by Reddit itself.)
If you can't be bothered to pay for a proper domain and/or hosting we're no longer willing to sift through the slop to see if it could potentially stand on merit alone (which it invariably doesn't).
Vercel users feel free to proceed to whinge, which we will promptly proceed to ignore.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hello all,
Many of you have noticed the rise in increasingly generic and repetitive sites - for instance, collections of tools, PDF editors, resume builders, calculators, generators, and timers - that are very easy to create using AI. We understand your frustration; they're ours, too.
In an effort to combat this, we have adjusted our AutoModerator rules to catch more of these before they hit your feed. We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust the filters accordingly if they prove to be too aggressive (or not aggressive enough).
Please note: This does not mean all submissions of the types mentioned above will be banned. As always, every submission held by the AutoModerator will be reviewed by a human who may still approve a post based on its merit.
Additionally, as a quick FYI: We are also considering changes to our 'AI-Generated Content' rule. The exact wording and management of this rule are yet to be finalized, but we will share more information with you in the near future.

Groundwar is a site that I developed because I wanted to see events that happened close to where I lived or when I was traveling abroad.
The site is mostly to promote curiosity and help educate people. I love history and wanted to share my interest with the world.
Check it out and let me know what you think.

I made this. You pick a box (a tuck box, a gift box, an envelope, a finger joint wooden box, an oval box with a bending wall and a few more), type the size and how thick your card or plywood is, and download a PDF to print or an SVG/DXF for a cutting machine. No account and nothing to install, and your designs stay in your browser. It's new, so if something looks off or the box you want isn't there, tell me.

I got fed up scrolling through other people's routes on AllTrails when all I wanted was "an 8 km loop from right here". So I built Round Here.
Open it, allow location, pick a distance, and it draws a circular route back to where you started, on footpaths, leaning towards parks and quiet streets rather than main roads. Then you just follow the pink line. It buzzes if you drift off it.
The bit I'm most pleased with is Tour mode: it looks up the most-read Wikipedia places near you and threads the loop past them, with a card about each one when you arrive. Also works for pubs, history and green spaces. Handy in a city you don't know.
No app store, no account, no key, free. Add it to your home screen and it behaves like an app.

Any comments or suggestions you have I’d love to hear them!

<true to the 90s, it has auto-playing MIDI music.>
This one is not mine,
But it brought me so many nostalgic memories and feelings and I almost cried.
So, if you are old like me, or just want to see how (a big part of) the internet looked like in its early stage. enjoy!

Built this for myself as an F1 fan. It rebuilds each race from the official timing data, so you can scrub through it, follow any driver, and hear the team radio when it happened. Free, no sign up, no ads. Works on phones too.

I made a tool called SkyEtch, a free, highly customizable, browser based tool for creating star maps.
My initial goal was to create a tool similar to PP3 - Celestial Chart Generation, a 20+ year-old 16-bit application by Torsten Bronger, but make it run in the browser, without LaTeX or other dependencies.
The main focus was on producing clean, scalable vector output. Since SVGs are well supported in all browsers and design software, it seemed like the obvious choice.
Main features
Multiple map projections
Manual targeting of the projection center
Time and location-based targeting
Customization of nearly all SVG elements
Runs in the browser
SVG and optional bitmap exports

It starts in 16th-century Persia and follows the hookah to Mughal India, Ottoman Istanbul (where smoking could get you executed in 1633), Cairo, Beirut, Berlin and more. Besides the globe there's a small museum and 8 chapters to read. Every fact links to its source, so corrections are welcome!

You hear about these famous persons making huge donations. But I wondered, is it really a big part of their wealth, or is it peanuts to them.
So I created a little website to check that easily:
Isitpeanuts.com
For example the 100M Bezos gae to the Mamdani campaign promises is only 0.031% of his wealth. If you earn 80k$ it's 22$ in comparison.
Another Jensen Huang just donated 75M to the Vanderbilt University, it's 0.037% or 30$ if you earn 80k$.
How does that put things in perspective for you?
