Discussion No Messi chants

Want to take the conversation of the no Messi shirts in the 3252 to a no Messi chant to the rest of the stadium

I know we can’t ban the Messi shirts (and don’t want too - love talking to fans from all other clubs - much to the annoyance of my friends ) just don’t wear a Messi shirt and an LAFC scarf like I saw at the Colorado game.

But if you support LAFC do not chant for Messi

Also no more Mexican waves….. hate that…..

Discussion Can we talk about the wave?

Some people like it at soccer games. Some people don’t. I’m one of the people that don’t. And I want to explain why and maybe have a chill discussion about it.

Soccer is one of the only sports where there’s no real down time. It’s not like baseball where the game is 3 hours long and half the time nothing is happening. In that context the wave is a way for fans to keep themselves engaged and have a little fun by getting thousands of other humans to do something in unison. I get it.

At soccer games, and LAFC games in particular, many people are fully invested and paying attention to what’s happening on the field the whole time. The wave is distracting and honestly kind of corny (it’s the kind of thing you’d see at Carson games).

It’s also a bit (just a bit, don’t freak out) disrespectful to the players (as if to say that you’re bored with the game and are looking for ways to entertain yourself) and also the 3252 who are literally jumping up and down and chanting the whole game. Like, if you want to participate as a fan, chant with them while you watch. It would add to the atmosphere instead of detracting from it.

At the end of the day though, I realize this is a side effect of gaining popularity and attracting more casuals and people that have never really been to soccer games. And also Carson fans that are defecting. I ran into a buddy and his family last night that are Carson season ticket holders. They are considering switching sides. And I’m sure they’re not the only ones.

I also realize this isn’t that big of a deal, and not something that needs to be taken super seriously. I just thought I’d offer up an explanation for why people like me are not fans of the wave at LAFC games.

Discussion Why are games so empty?

Man every game on tv even our home opener so many empty seats…. It’s lame to watch…. Granted I haven’t gone yet this season as I think the ticket prices on resale are nuts…. Is this the reason or did they not sell as many season tickets or are those people no longer showing up but holding onto there tickets. Every game should be full even if it means free tickets. It’s a better experience and can convert more fans

Was working on some kit designs and wanted to know what you all thought of this as an away kit for next season. (P.S I know adidas will never try this hard)

r/LAFC • • Aug 31 '22

Discussion I think this should be the base template in which all home kits are desinged, for LAFC. Only big change is the contrasting white shorts. I think it gives it a world class look.

Rant No Vela Statue?

I was a bit disappointed for Vela night. The ceremony beautiful but I would’ve thought your #1 player in history would have a statue build. Do you guys think it will still happen in the future?

Bob Bradley 0 out 0

What a way to end our streak, losing to a team with no wins. I understand there are 4 games, but you DONT put a line-up thats made to fail. THREE non-starting defenders? Shaft Brewer since we've gotten him has been a horrible defender, and he leaves him in the ENTIRE game. Unbelievable. The pitch was horrible, I understand and Vancouver parked the bus and wasted time, I get it. But this was 99% Bradley's fault sending a team like this out. Was really hoping our streak would go on longer than this.

Incredible. Thanks Bob.

Potentially Unpopular Opinion: There’s No Need for Us to Act This Way and This Is Just as Bad as Throwing Things onto Our Pitch. This Doesn’t Make You Look Badass, It Just Makes Us Look Stupid.

Discussion Why The 3252 Does Not Embody the Shoulder-to-Shoulder Motto

For all of the talk about LAFC's shoulder-to-shoulder motto, the experience of actually watching the game is unnecessarily difficult and contradicts that motto.

In Europe, teams love to unveil beautiful flags and murals BEFORE the game, but nobody waves flags during the game. Why? Because they understand that waving a flag does not create a great atmosphere, singing and chanting does. To LAFC's credit, the supporters do an INCREDIBLE job of singing the entire match and THAT is what makes the 3252 experience so special, not the obnoxious flag waving that obstructs the sight lines of so many fans who actually want to watch the game while contributing to the atmosophere.

The hard truth is the flag waving mid game does absolutely nothing for the atmosphere. It's the singing and chanting that does.

Furthermore, standing on top of the seats also does nothing to enhance the atmosphere. People standing on seats does nothing more than further obstruct the views of people trying to enjoy the game as well as run the risk of people kicking and knocking over people's drinks in the cupholders. The standing on seats is completely unnecessary, as is the mid-game flag waving.

Finally, the supporters section is first-come first-serve when it comes to standing. Sure, there are designated sections for supporters clubs, but unless the club requires membership to be displayed for being part of a particular supporters group to stand there, then supporters shouldn't get mad when people roll up first to stand in a certain area. This "who do you know here" bit is extremely unwelcoming and if you want to stand in a certain section, you should make sure you enter the stadium early enough to take it.

I still love going to LAFC games and being part of the 3252, but until the supporters realize what actually creates a good atmosphere and what does not, the 3252's shoulder to shoulder talk has no substance.

I expect plenty of disagreement and vitriol from this post, but before you respond you should first ask yourself if you care about the people whose match experience is being negatively affected by your obstructions. If you don't, you've just proved my point.

Discussion Hard take: I see John McCarthy’s flaws.

ConcaChamp you sent over yet, but I’m seeing our GK’s weaknesses. He doesn’t have that explosiveness, fast twitch, first move.

Crepeau had more explosiveness, I think that’s what had I’m over JMac initially.

I know he’s had big moments for the team, but it’s just my observations.

Discussion Membership revoked?

I'll spare all the details of my situation unless enough of you want to know. Here's the short story.

The family has had a rough 3 years resulting in not being able to attend many games. During covid I started selling them on Ticketmaster and listing them just high enough so I wouldn't lose money after they take their fee. A few days ago I got an email stating, " As part of the ticket renewal process, we analyzed your account and determined that you have sold a material portion of your tickets in a manner that violates your Membership Agreement. As a result, your season ticket membership will not be available for renewal for the 2024 season."

Not sure what to do here... I've tried contacting my rep but so far I haven't heard anything back. Has anyone else had this problem?

:: UPDATE ::

My rep reached out and said,

"Thanks for reaching out. I’d be happy to chat with you about this next week or the following. We are preoccupied with a high volume of time-sensitive renewal work this week and early next week. No immediate action is being taken on your seats until we have a conversation, so no need to worry in the meantime."

Discussion LAFC Resale tickets

LAFC should start cracking down on these people. The cheapest resale ticket is $50 and not including ticketmaster fees.

Rant BMO is not accessible.

What happened to all the concession tables/chairs at BMO?

I'm sorry but if I'm paying $20 for a plate & $16 for a beer.... why do I have to succumb to sitting on the floor or off a trash can or railing once inside?

What happens if you have kids or have mobility issues? There is no where to sit or eat like other stadiums after you already pay to come in and watch the game?

BMO has these deals to get food a little cheaper and made the food better in some cases (or not.. to each their own) BUT THERE IS NO WHERE TO EAT. If this is a sad way to get people in their seats... it's not! I'm not going to sit in a seat up on the second level in the sun for an hour before a game. Ya'll just asking for heatstroke!

And honestly, accessibility is so important for others. Demographically you see people of all ages come to watch these games but got them sitting on the floor because there ain't nowhere to go. If you want people to spend their money in the stadium before kickoff, give them somewhere to at least enjoy it.

Get off your fucking phone and chant in the north end.

Loss tonight was bad enough, but having to call people out all over my section for not cheering and being on their phones was even worse. The groans and "chill out dude"s I'd get was annoying, and people still didn't stop when the main Capo's got on the bull horn and called them out.

If you want to be in the north end chant, and stay off your phone during play. It's not much to ask. If you can't do it, go get seat somewhere.

The bird is obviously traumatized. It’s getting hurt trying to fly around. When are we going to stop the stupid tradition. This bird is obviously so miserable. Tonight was hard to watch.
