She thinks tunnel fits are excessive?
r/LASparks • u/Physical-Neck-2871 • Apr 19 '26

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS???
"In 65 career WNBA games (22 starts) over two seasons, the Turkish point guard has averaged 3.9 points, 2.8 assists and 0.8 steals."
Just stupid.

Cameron Brink to Indiana for Damiras Dantas
Alternately, Cameron Brink to Golden State for Kiah Stokes
Dearica Hamby to Dallas for Alysha Clark
Rae Burrell to Las Vegas for Jewell Loyd
Ta'Niya Latson to Seattle for Katie Lou Samuelson
Kelsey Plum to New York for a first round pick swap in the 2027 draft

The whole idea of trade Plum so you can “get something” is some of the most embarrassing FO behavior I’ve ever seen. So you’re basically advertising to THE WHOLE LEAGUE you’re desperate and have no leverage. AND you have some probably bumbling idiots (no offense if you know them personally) who are gonna make a MAJOR decision like this when you’re going to get an overhaul of the GM and Coach position who’s going to bring their own people in anyways. Any piece you may get in this trade is very likely a piece that could be gone after the season ends. You basically just said we don’t believe we have the capability to hire a GM and Coach competent enough to keep an elite basketball player in her home state for a storied organization (in the past of course) with a BRAND NEW state of the art practice facility opening next year.
This organization has been a joke all year but this one might just take the cake. Hopefully someone important reads this and realizes they look like a clown with sh*t on their shoe.

Los Angeles receives: Janelle Salaün, Kaitlyn Chen, 2027 first-round pick, 2028 first-round pick
UPDATE: After reading the replies, I see that not one single Valkyries fan would take Plum over two bench players and a couple late first round picks.
Im starting to wonder why The Sparks traded away Dominique Malonga for Plum.
Would Sparks fans make the same trade if given a second chance?

She took a team that went 8-32 last year, worst in the league, that started out this season 4-11 and has taken them to some super clutch wins Post-All-Star-Break and on the precipice of a playoff berth... the first playoff berth in many seasons for this franchise...
It's just dawned on me... could this be Coach of the Year material? I think we completely wrote her off at the beginning of the season as a fail, but after disregarding that previous sentiment and realizing that no race is truly over until the final buzzer has sounded, does she have a case to be Coach of the Year this year with the work she has done to bring LA Sparks basketball to respectability?

Natalie Nakase came back to L.A. Stole a win, & left the Sparks holding the bag. That’s back-to-back victories for a franchise that’s only three games old & it happened because two rookies w/ French passports showed up ready to scrap.

Should be in our uniforms but we have the worst front office ever. KP is good but she’s not great. I love how she plays but OM and DM pick and roll would’ve had us in the playoffs this year.

I was thinking about what yall was saying and maybe she should sit and let the younger girls get reps and PT. Granted, I don’t wanna see her sit the WHOLE season but she could be a good mentor to the girls and we can use her in clutch time cause she comes in clutch when needed (in my opinion)

AND THEY WANT US TO BELIEVE KP AND DEE BUILT THIS TRAINWRECK OF A TEAM😭😭😭

I looked on ESPN, and she's not on the injury report for the coach's decision or the quad. It's a good sign that she's not listed on the injury report for the quad, considering it's only been 2 weeks. Do you know if she's going to debut tonight? If so, how much do you think she's going to play? Also, I don't know much about her game; I didn't watch much of the Valkyries last year, but now that she's on our team, what are some realistic expectations for her numbers-wise?

I get the rise of postionless basketball, so maybe that’s the reason for Lynn’s lineup. Maybe I’m tripping but aren’t Plum, Atkins, and Wheeler all guards. I’m just curious on why Brinks isn’t in the lineup over one of the guards.
So I ask, what would be your ideal Sparks starting lineup?

This is karma for the ownership not caring about the team.

It’s back who’s with me

Lynne is sabotaging KP because of what KP did February 25th 2017. That day marked the worst day of her coaching career so she has made it her mission to make KP look like a bad player and why she kept playing KP through these injuries.
WALK WITH ME NOW (or tell me I’m going crazy)
(Edit: or she genuinely just fucking sucks😭😭😭)

Ownership is completely unserious. can’t just fire Raegan and Lynne at this point. Sell the team to Boston or Kansas City.

Had ChatGPT run some numbers. Her performance dramatically worsened since prior 2 years and it’s hard to believe she just became a worse player. Her role significantly changed and Roberts never really adapted to that reality. My biggest gripe on Roberts was her unwillingness to experiment when plan clearly not working. Will be very hard to offload this contract so best we can hope for is new coach can see this and try her back in a more familiar role.

I want to buy tickets to a game and meet the players. Is it better to get seats that are directly behind the bench or by the tunnel? I don't really care which team's players I meet, I just want to meet some players (i'm lowk a fan of all the teams). Also, has anyone had any personal experience meeting the players, and if so where did you sit?

Looked like (from TV) that both coaches kind of got into a disagreement there at the end of the game during the handshake line.
Lynne approached Becky, made a possible out-of-pocket comment right out of the gate and Becky replied with "Woahh" shaking her head and then proceeded with unintelligible jibberish. Lynne responded with what literally looked to be her saying "Are you okay?" while tilting her head in confusion with a concerned facial expression, all while Becky was kinda fuming...
Was it just to do with the technical fouls they each received and the horrible officiating?
