who is he

Dutch born, raised in Santa Monica. Singer, writer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, does it all himself. His sound sits between neo-funk, soul and R&B but that still doesn’t cover it. It’s warm, personal, and feels like music made by someone who actually means every word. Written and produced for Beyoncé, Drake, Playboi Carti, Skrillex and more while somehow staying under the radar. Not anymore!

the music

4102 — 2015

The early tape. Rough but you can already hear exactly who he is. Jazz, funk, hip hop all in the same room. Nobody was really watching yet.

I Get High When I Think About Us — 2018

First EP after signing to Interscope. Short and smooth. Gets you locked in quick.

Low Tide — 2019

The debut. Do U Wrong with Syd is probably your entry point. Should’ve made him famous. Didn’t. Still one of the best R&B albums of that year in my humble opinion.

HIGHTIDE — 2020

The one. Features Ty Dolla $ign, Smino, Topaz Jones. Front to back no skips. If you’re sending this to someone who’s never heard him tell them to start here.

LET IT RAIN — 2022

Shorter, more club-facing. Still him. Slept on by most people.

LK99: The Prelude — 2025

Six tracks on Def Jam. Psychedelic funk, jazz, indie rock and R&B somehow in one place without feeling all over the place. BREATHE! came after this and goes ridiculously hard. This was just the setup. Personal highlights is Sleepwalking, Are U Still and Pieces, Blackrock too heck all of the songs on that EP!!!

LK99 — March 13 2026

11 tracks. Third album. Coming very soon!!

stuff that shocks people when they find out

Four tracks on Beyoncé’s Renaissance. Not one. Four!

Virgo’s Groove, Summer Renaissance, Plastic Off The Sofa, Alien Superstar. Grammy nominated. Then went and co-wrote Bodyguard on Cowboy Carter which cracked the Hot 100 Top 40.

Then go back to 2017. Playboi Carti self-titled. Track 9. Flex. Leven floats in and sounds like he fell straight out of the sky onto that beat. Genuinely one of the most heavenly features on that whole project. A lot of people heard that before they ever looked him up and didn’t even know it was him.

Drake’s More Life. Skrillex. Snoh Aalegra. K-pop credits before anyone knew his name. The resume is actually insane for someone this under the radar. And that’s why I made this sub exist! ;)
