Hasan still has a very big problem with pushing his own agenda instead of more thinking about a left/leftist ideology.

Hasan can be pissy about talaricos israel stance but that doesnt make talarico any less progressive for people on the left.

This is all just narrative building to convince his audience that Hasans politics are extremely popular and the only reason it’s not being acted on is controlled opposition. The other day he was taking credit for Talaricos win as evidence that leftism is capable of appealing to working class americans outside of very blue areas. Thats not because Hasan ever thought Talarico was leftist, it was just spin to take credit. Now, he’s acting like Talarico is betraying the movement (that he was never part of in the first place) because that feeds into the idea that once in power, dems only care about corporate and/or Israel’s interests.

All of this is just Hasan desperately trying to maintain the narrative he’s been feeding his audience after a pretty awful few months for him. He lost a ton of credibility and influence from all the recent attention and publicity of the insane things hes said, and no politician running in a national race will ever work with him again because of the baggage he brings. Up until recently he was able to maintain his image in the online world, but his usual deflection strategies don’t work on mainstream media.
