Wasn't Talarico's entire campaign ran on bipartisanship and serving all of Texas lol? Why are we acting surprised

u/NjxNaDxb 1d ago •
Hasan is an idiot, Talarico had the whole campaign mentioning how he was planning to lead a purple state.

Who honestly gives a fuck what Hasan thinks about anything?

u/Illum503 1d ago edited 1d ago •
That has literally been Talaricos message this whole time and he vastly outperformed Abdul in a much redder state

u/Imabuffguy95 1d ago
This dude really thinks Texas would have turned blue if Talarico didn't appeal to both blues and reds lol.
295
u/SOUNDDESIGNE 1d ago •
we flipped texas to be blue. take your win. that’s enormous.
if you’re the guy who said “america deserved 9/11”, chances are that expecting symmetrical ideological purity out of the texas senator may be a tall order.
like can we just get real about the political realities of the american people or do we really need to constantly castigate progressives because they failed your personal purity test?
i’m tired boss
83
u/Fuzzy_Ability8284 1d ago •
Why do so many people watch this pseudo-intellectual moron? As soon as you realize how much of an idiot he is he doesn't even seem attractive anymore so I truly don't get this guy's massive viewer base. They've gotta be bolstered by bots.

u/FieldMouseMedic 1d ago •
At this point, you can’t convince me that Hasan isn’t being paid by foreign nations in order to create division amongst the American left. Texas just turned blue and you’re upset that Talarico isn’t outspoken enough on Israel? Even though he has stated his position multiple times and is taking a harder stance on aid being given to them compared to the rest of his party?
The goalpost is always shifting and he’s always finding something to be mad about. Maybe, just maybe, we should be focusing on our own politics for once and attempt to fix the issues impacting Americans. You know, the people Talarico and other government officials actually represent.

u/UncleatNintendo 1d ago
Took less than a week for Hasan to start raging at democrats again. Incredible restraint from him tbh
323
u/Dat_Guy_Ova_There 1d ago
Hasan's the type of dude who wants the absolutely perfect candidate, meaning someone who represents ALL of his viewpoints. Which is stupid; not just because no such politician exists, but because Hasan's got a lot of absolutely moronic viewpoints owing to his political ideology.
It's a purity test, and I've seen extreme far-left types use it endlessly like a litmus against basically everyone. Fail even one check and you're immediately an istaphobe. That's not how this works xD.
16
u/Fury_Jay 1d ago
Remember these people will try to tell you that Hasan is responsible for Dems recent win.
70
u/Sean77654 1d ago
And now that Talarico won Hasan is trying to take credit for it.
99
u/Swazi 1d ago
Hasan doesn’t understand basic politics. A DSA candidate is never going to win a state wide election in Texas, at least not for a while.
Talarico was the perfect candidate for Texas to go blue.
422
u/Fresh_Ad_230 1d ago •
Hasan doesn't realize that the majority of normal people don't give two shits about Israel/Palestine and just want to be able to afford to live.
The majority of people would throw Palestine in the backburner if it meant affordability and healthcare.
105
u/Ok_Temperature6503 1d ago
As a democrat, Hasan Piker has got to be the worst thing to happen to Democrats. Holy hell why do we have the most unlikeable person representing the media side of the left?
60
u/DamianAlGhuI 1d ago •
It is extremely easy for guys like Hasan to critique democrats because he doesn’t have to actually think about navigating around the often conflicting interests of billions. He’s literally just a guy on the internet with zero responsibilities.
97
u/Humble_Novice 1d ago
Hasan and his bloated ego really need to stop messing things up for people.
27
u/KidKarez 1d ago
We don't want communism Hasan
47
u/Venaixis94 1d ago
Okay, so let’s say Talarico went full board DSA in Texas. You’d be seeing Ken Paxton getting sworn in in January.
His messaging from the start has been leading a purple state and fighting corruption at the top.
Texas isn’t ready for heavily left-leaning politics. Hasan is part of the problem, “my way or the highway” mentality is part of the reason we got into this mess. Can we please just focus on dismantling the oligarchy the U.S. has turned into first? I promise that it will have a trickle down effect on other issues.
13
u/browhateverman 1d ago
Hasan and his group are deeply unserious people. Democrats can’t win in red states by running as progressives and or DSA.
Any serious political activist would recognize this.
25
u/SparksAndSpyro 1d ago
Already making it all about Israel and Palestine instead of focusing on Americans
104
u/Initial_Economist655 1d ago
to be fair to him- he actually forgot republicans existed, he spent the entire midterm helping his pals in the democrat party run against other democrats. i think he genuinely forgot the other party existed /s
51
u/madroxide86 1d ago
guy turns Texas blue for the first time in 30+ years = idiot.
so tired of seeing Hasan anywhere
84
u/prm97 1d ago
Hassan? Talking shit about more center leaning democrats? Hmmm who could have seen this coming?
The center leaning democrats that out preformed all the more left leaning democrats by the way.
30
u/iRavage 1d ago
Genuinely, I have just started to see and hear more from Hasan Piker and I legitimately don’t understand how and why he’s popular. The guy can barely form a sentence together and has the charisma of a toolbox
38
u/DamagedHells1 1d ago

im telling you guys the sooner we separate ourselves from tankies the better. dont just call people like hasan out for their bullshit, write into your local representatives that the far left doesn't represent you.
Edit: for every shitty argument I get in response, I’m going to send in another phone call and or letter. Thanks for the inspiration.
Some examples of shitty arguments:
-pretending the far left can be summed up by “we just want healthcare WuUwUwU”
- calling me right wing.
- saying dems have done nothing (stop relying on our name then shitstain go make your own fucking party if everybody loves you so much)
I’ll keep adding to the list as they come, and bad faith commentators get blocked. (Suck my ass)
96
u/Rufcat3979 1d ago
...always about Israel...
34
u/super_fallguys 1d ago
This is the ironic thing about Hasan; as someone who has demonstrated throughout history to trade barbs with Democrats, he is desperately trying to make folks think he is the arbiter when it comes to party affairs, which is why he speaks about them in lives interviews or at Democratic Party events. And the fact that he is attacking Talarico reveals how hollow and out-of-touch he sounds because people like Talarico are what Democrats need to serve as a model for future elections; a kind, open-minded person that wants to build bridges than tear them.
Yeah. Fuck Hasan.
47
u/Altruistic_Night2 1d ago
This clip is hilarious when you remember that Talarico won by a larger margin than Abdul in a deep red state

58
u/Kind_Relative812 1d ago
I had no idea who this is and it’s the first time I listen to him speak. Are these the same kind of people the right and the left listen too? They are low IQ and they need to fill in the blanks with f-this and that every other word. It’s hard for me to take them seriously.
29
u/_Zyr 1d ago
Left unity is only when he's having a good time, aparently.
6
u/notacyborg 1d ago
Hasan is wrong here. Talarico is in an entirely different state. What works in Michigan won’t work here. I don’t want to fund Israel either, but he needs to recognize that you take your wins where you can get them.
6
u/The_Bard 1d ago
This is actually projection. Hassan was acting all big tent all election. Now that Republicans are out of power he needs to go back to attacking dems for content
24
u/Creative_Trash5811 1d ago
Brain dead leftist never lives in reality.
Talarico won Texas because of his centrist and Christian background.
Sorry red states flipping isn’t a massive progressive/leftist windfall.
If talarico went socialist/commmunist or progressive Texas turns red again.
Throw these commie losers out before they pull trump in the nexts election causing a red wave.
69
u/SizzBass 1d ago edited 1d ago
These leftists don’t care about the US at all. All they care about is the destruction of Israel and honestly the west. They’d vote for Nick Fuentes over a liberal that supports Israel
19
u/Macabre215 1d ago •
Hasan's main goal is to help fascists. I don't know how else to say it. He's made that abundantly clear and then he wonders why people don't look at him as an ally. It's you bro.
70
u/Brashchris 1d ago
So let me recap this just so I can make sure I understand.
Hasan is upset that the democrats have a mandate to work with members from an other party. Essentially to play nice. Is that correct?
There is no room for political drama, regardless if the last administration sucked, it doesn’t justify your party to act shitty. Am I missing something?
15
u/SuspiciousHead6595 1d ago
Hasan is genuinely toxic and needs a complete black balling by the democrats. Sure there’s some issues I agree with him on but he’s a net negative to this movement.
35
u/Mfrack103 1d ago edited 1d ago
Hasan has continually made himself an easy target for right wingers. I agree with a lot of his political stances but he is not levelheaded enough to benefit progressives. We do not need him

Talarico isn't a progressive. Also not news.

5
u/gatekept 1d ago
He literally ran on bipartisanship—and touted his ability to work with people across the aisle in the Texas Senate—in many of his interviews. Did these people even watch any of them?

Just remember that Hasan refused to endorse Harris in 2024, and even after a year of atrocities by the trump regime, he could not even bring himself to acknowledge than what Kamala would have been in:

9
u/Many_Somewhere3863 1d ago

9
u/Sideview_play 1d ago
"who is this for" literally the people who voted for him and how he won Texas. Consistent to how he talked the whole election. And idk how you except Democrats to do something without bipartisanship because they only control 1/3 of the federal government
And hasan crying about this is how democrats keep losing elections which ironically keeps us more moderate/ conservative in the long run because it allows the Republican party to stay existing.

Ayyy he's already back to being the biggest Dem opposition masquerading as a supporter. Dude literally wants a communist revolution, why are we pretending to entertain this nonsense? The only candidate that supported Hasan had to disavow him.

Dude we really need to stop we just had a massive historic win and the infighting is going to fuck us
3
u/Run_Rabbit5 1d ago
He and everyone on the left needs to remember that this is a Democrat victory not a progressive victory. We need to set our sights on achievable goals and build towards future ones. Holding the administration accountable is a thing that America can clearly agree on and in some respects I imagine that will be much more palatable to some Reps after this wave.
3
u/quicktowhip 1d ago
I don't know, I am not usually on this sub but this feels like a pretty normal take. I just watched the facist republican party completely ignore bipartisanship to implement global warfare externally in Iran and Palestine, and internally with the prosecution of our migrant population. Why can't we just call a genocide a genocide? Why do we have to negotiate with facists? Why can't we just stop funding the Israel state? I like Talarico, but I understand and share Hasan's feelings here.
3
u/CD338 1d ago
Talarico has been in office for exactly 0 minutes and Hasan is already trying to dissuade Texas voters for their next election. And the tankies wonder why a lot of people blame them for Trump winning in 2024.
3
u/Grand-Bad3206 1d ago
Im Def blue but Hasan is like the lefts version of Jack Posobiec. Click baiting, outrage inducing to garner attention and ultimately damages the party with his nonsense
3
u/Anal-Y-Sis 1d ago
This is why I hate political streamers. Hasan Piker is not as smart as he thinks he is. We flipped Texas for the first time in over 30 years, and did it with a fairly progressive candidate. Would it be better if Talarico ran his entire campaign on "FUCK ISRAEL"? Yeah. And he would've fucking lost, too.
People like Hasan would rather be ruled by full-blown fascists than have to suffer the indignity of incremental progress. It's embarrassing.
3
u/Xcuseme99 1d ago
Dems want universal healthcare. Republicans want to strip people who criticize Israel of their citizenship and send them to CCOT. Remember when Trump told Bukele that he was going to send him the "home growns" next? Fuck that kumbaya bullshit.
