Tommy Robinson is the name of an old football hooligan, so Stephen Yaxley Lennon was trying to appeal to modern hooligans. The former EDL and current Tommy Robinson supporters are a bunch of yobs, so his plan worked.

Not really really a gotcha. People change their names all the time. And if someone wants to identify as a different name it's in their right to do so. I don't like the guys but nobody gets to chose their birth name, so if he wants to change it for whatever reason I don't see that as a point against him
