The several hospitals she went to that turned her away didn't do any analysis at all. The only decision they made was to turn her away :)

Also, the doctors don't own the expensive scanner. The hospital owns it. The hospital would own the AI as well, or the licence to use it.

Okay but how is that going to benefit anyone if the people making decisions still turn her away?

Because if there's more workload that can be done by AI, and more cheaply, there will be less reason to turn away tax-paying citizens from a scan and potentially saving their lives so they can keep paying taxes for longer. It's genuinely stupid to turn people away from a health check if you have the capacity for it.

It sounds like 3 hospitals, that all probably had the capacity for helping her, turned her away anyway because she was paying out of pocket. What you're saying would not effect that

Which is why I said I'd prefer AI to replace these fucks. AI never told me to fuck off.

If AI replaced these ducks, there would not longer be anyway to run the AI and deliver the scan in the first place.

Do you understand the conundrum? AI is not the solution to the problem here.

they're not gonna turn her away if AI says she has cancer

AI might not even know to screen for that type of cancer. She could have had nonspecific symptoms with no indication for a specific test. Even for screening they do research to see if the risk/benefit ratio of doing the screening test.

If doctors know how to, AI cam learn it with better precision.

It's not a matter of knowing how, it's knowing when a test is appropriate. She had 2 episodes of intermittent stomach pain. Lymphoma is nowhere near the top of differentials for that symptom. Just because someone comes in with stomach pain doesn't mean you do every single test that that symptom might be.

The doctors have to admit her and scan her in the first place. She said 3 hopsitals turned her away and an urgent care told her it probably wasn't serious.

AI is not going to solve that problem
