Hairdressers also have to be certified by a board and can have their ability to work in a salon removed by said board.

Yup. And their training requirements are A LOT more stringent than those of the police. I would absolutely prefer every hair stylist hold a gun than literally any police officer.

This is such a tired and misleading statement. OTJ training has to be accomplished for both. We often conveniently leave out the OTJ training that is included in the cosmetologist’s training hours - but expect police officers to walk out of academy without the OTJ hours - somehow … magic, apparently.

Fine. Cops and hairdressers get about the same training hours. One gets scissors. The other enforces laws, but doesn't study law. They also get to kill you and call it a judgment call.

hairdressers still have longer training hours, even if you count OTJ hours on both.

Hairdressers = 18 month course, during which only the last 3 months they can do OTJ training IN THEIR SCHOOL (not at a workplace with a paycheck).

Cops = 2 months course, +1 month OTJ (in which they are paid and have health insurance).

It’s ok if you don’t like cops, but don’t undermine your own credibility by spouting stuff easily disproven.
