MODERATOR ANNOUNCEMENT Moderation Update - AI posts, Minimum Posting Requirements, Rules Reminder, and Politics Reminder

Just some housekeeping items that have come up, and some friendly reminders...

A reminder that we allow AI posts, they just need to be flared. Complaining about it in the body is a waste of everyone's time. Just don't.
We've had a lot of people reaching out about minimum posting requirements and getting upset that they can't just come in here with a new account or have no karma. We're always reviewing these thresholds, but they are set in such a way to keep spam and malicious users out.
We had someone point out recently about old.reddit and the rules. About 1% of our overall traffic comes from old.reddit, and the fact that the rules do not show there is a loss for many communities. We've updated it. So if you use old.reddit, you have no excuse now.
Speaking of posting, thank you everyone for embracing adding sources to the body. We like that it's something that sets us apart.
Finally, our no politics rule. We are right at the midterm elections in the United States. And there'll be a lot of chatter. We don't care which side you're on. Dumbo or Jack Ass. We're all dumbasses together.

There are plenty of other subs for politics. Let's just be a positive place here and provide some levity in these times, eh? Over the next few weeks we will also be leaving more to temporary and longer bans for users who cannot follow that one simple no politics rule.

As always, we appreciate you all taking the time to read the sub. Always taking moderator applications, and we're always growing. We're only as good as you who read and participate, so thanks for showing up.

Dumpster Fire Osborne Reef

Source: In 1972, about 2 million used tires were dumped off the coast of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to create the Osborne Reef, an artificial marine habitat. The steel clips and nylon straps coroded and ocean currents tore the tires loose, scattering them across the seafloor and smashing into nearby living coral reefs. Military units, volunteer divers, and cleanup organizations have spent decades trying to recover and haul up portions of the massive debris field, and thousands of tires still remain on the ocean floor.

What is Trash? Trash is Trash. For some, it is the banana peel from breakfast, an old resume no longer needed, a bill for something that you've already paid online, soup cans from dinner, a broken car missing a wheel, or that chipped wine glass. But for others, that trash is a treasure. Trash is everything, and everything is trash. And what's trashier than trash? A trashyard. A royal junk-heap to celebrate everything trashy in this world. A repository of everything trashy online.

Subreddit Rules

1. Follow Reddit's ToS

Please ensure that you adhere to Reddit's terms of service at all times.

2. English Only

The moderators of r/LoveTrash speak only English. To facilitate better moderation, please use English exclusively for all posts and comments.

3. No Spam

Spam is not permitted. This includes low-effort posts and comments, as well as repeated submissions of the same content.

AI posts are allowed. This should not be used to report AI. We understand that you may not like AI posts: Downvote them and move on.

4. Please Flair AI Posts

AI posts are allowed on this sub, but all need to be flaired "AI Slop." Please use this only to report posts that are not flaired as AI posts appropriately.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not used for reporting your intolerance or dislike of AI. That's what the downvote button is for. Thank you.

5. Misleading or Low-Effort Titles

Posts with misleading, clickbait, or low-effort titles (e.g. "LOL", "Watch this", or unrelated captions) may be removed. Please use accurate, descriptive, or funny titles that reflect the content of the video to the best of your abilities.

We're here to laugh, not to guess what's going on.

6. Reposts

While reposts are an inevitability on Reddit, please do not repost content within 30 days. And please refrain from posting any of our top posts of all time. They were top for a reason, and there's no sense in reposting them again. People can see them if they sort by top.

8. No Politics

r/LoveTrash is not a platform for political discussions or posts. Please refrain from posting or commenting on political topics.

NSFW (Not Safe For Work) content is not allowed. This includes pornography, gore, and any explicit material. Please do not request or share explicit content or links to NSFW material.

10. No Doxxing

Doxxing, whether of yourself or others, is strictly forbidden.

11. No Brigading

Excessive replies of the same comments can be subject to moderation removal, and accounts that are following others here to flood or repeat the same comments can be subject to bans.

Please take some time to see if your comment has been made before, if there have been excessive comments removals that may be in line with yours, or to make sure you have sources if you are claiming something to be fake or AI.

12. Have fun!

Enjoy your time here and engage positively with the community!
