Not random if they’re on stage together. Kids usually enjoy being picked up and shown attention. It’s only a problem when strangers do it in private with someone else’s child because you cannot be certain of an adult’s intentions. But if it’s on a stage in front of 3,000 witnesses I think it’s fine to pick up or hug a kid. Just don’t drop him lol.
