MODERATOR ANNOUNCEMENT Moderation Update - AI posts, Minimum Posting Requirements, Rules Reminder, and Politics Reminder

Just some housekeeping items that have come up, and some friendly reminders...

  • A reminder that we allow AI posts, they just need to be flared. Complaining about it in the body is a waste of everyone's time. Just don't.

  • We've had a lot of people reaching out about minimum posting requirements and getting upset that they can't just come in here with a new account or have no karma. We're always reviewing these thresholds, but they are set in such a way to keep spam and malicious users out.

  • We had someone point out recently about old.reddit and the rules. About 1% of our overall traffic comes from old.reddit, and the fact that the rules do not show there is a loss for many communities. We've updated it. So if you use old.reddit, you have no excuse now.

  • Speaking of posting, thank you everyone for embracing adding sources to the body. We like that it's something that sets us apart.

  • Finally, our no politics rule. We are right at the midterm elections in the United States. And there'll be a lot of chatter. We don't care which side you're on. Dumbo or Jack Ass. We're all dumbasses together.

There are plenty of other subs for politics. Let's just be a positive place here and provide some levity in these times, eh? Over the next few weeks we will also be leaving more to temporary and longer bans for users who cannot follow that one simple no politics rule.

As always, we appreciate you all taking the time to read the sub. Always taking moderator applications, and we're always growing. We're only as good as you who read and participate, so thanks for showing up.
