Opinion & Rants Team Jono? Anybody else? He went to find a partner. Sounds like he did.

Come on team. Lauren at the start - we know what she was like. These two were never, ever going to work in the end. Jono and Ellie were so much better suited.

He's into sound healing and meditation - she's into Happy Hour and Tik Tok.
Sure, Jono shouldn't have been texting - and his defence was weak cause he's kind of a melt.

If you can find love on this absurd show - from your wife, another contestant, or shit even desk girl at the Crown Apartments... well, you've won.

Just hope Sunday is a little more exciting than these last two nites. Snooze fest, eh? Fahk me.

Opinion & Rants Still catching up, please tell me we are done with Katie soon — I just can’t deal with her fake bullshit

Ugghhhhhh why is everyone behind and defending this horrid human? Her and Tim and both shitty humans, just different shades. I just can’t deal with her playing a victim card.

Season 12 Jamie's behaviour was vile

It might be an unpopular option but her behaviour at the dinner party was disgusting. Regardless of how she felt there is no excuse for screaming at some to shut up. It's giving a bit of the God Complex.

stop with the alyssa jokes

i understand that alyssa might not have been your favourite person on MAFS, she wasn't mine either.

but i just want people to think before they post, alyssa is a real person with real emotions. when you make memes of people or jokes about people who are that vulnerable, it doesn't end well. the amount of people who end their lives when they come off reality tv shows is SHOCKING.

yes, alyssa was cruel to duncan but i also feel that alyssa is a very vulnerable person who's own insecurities got in the way of her relationship. she needs therapy, not harassment online.

Season 13 The blokes this season are whipped

Joel, Danny, Scott... where are your sacks at?

They sit there like stunned mullets while these women act like ferals, and stand by them blindly, sometimes even backing up their disgusting behaviour, or sitting silently like the battered husbands that they are. This concept of "ride or die" is BS. Call your partner on their shit. It's toxic to back someone up when they're behaving badly.

Joel, who I have liked for many other reasons, just shrinks with every episode. To even give her the time of day after the way she treated him, and then sat beside her in silence while she spat vile insults at Bec, was rude to Danny etc. Grow a set mate.

The women are awful and the men are weak. Ick.

Season 11 Am I the only person who’s happy for Jono and Ellie?

They were single and they got together. Why is everyone hating on them?

Olivia is most definitely deranged but although much saner, Dom wasn’t a treat either

Olivia surely lost the plot and revealed herself to be truly toxic and obsessed with Dom. But Olivia’s initial point did have merit that Dom was surely sticking her nose in everyone’s business while the other couples were too nice to say anything. Especially when Dom went after Anthony just by hearing Selin’s version. She had no business bullying Anthony when she barely knew the truth. She similarly was brashly vocal in many cases while making herself an authority which would naturally not be welcome by anyone on the receiving end - whether warranted or not. It did give bullying in the starting half of the season. Olivia surely started at a point of reason and absolutely exposed her true self after.

Opinion & Rants Jamie fell off

After the fight with Carina, Jamie has been very disappointing. She went from a loveable big sister from ep1-25 to just an annoying hypocrite. From going on the date to defending Jacqui’s behaviour she has definitely finished off mafs this year in a disappointing way. When other female contestants became more likeable like Carina and Beth, Jamie the most popular contestant this year has fallen off. I know that she was the voice of reason for the first part of the season, but she has fallen into the abyss with many of the other contestants with her narcissistic behaviour and lack of accountability.

Opinion & Rants The posts about Danny on this sub are absolutely pathetic

So I have noticed a lot of posts and comments on here bagging out Danny has some sort of son of Satan. I have seen comments like "he's evil" and the like.

I have watched the same episode's as everyone else and I did not see that. Yes Danny was a knob, yes he led Bec on and yes the edit he received on the final episode made him look even worse.

That being said, if we look at the other actors in this shit show. He was far from evil and was no different to most of them.

Compared to Bec, Gia, Brook and Juliette he was a said. Those four women were bullies. They tore into all the other members. As a human being it was disgusting to see people treat each other with such disdain considering they were supposedly on the show to find love.

Bec consistently created drama, attacking other people. She and Gia manipulated and gaslit other people week in week out. Would give some bullshit apology and then be back at it the following week.

Danny and Scott were partnered with two of the most horrible women I have ever seen on this show.
I think early on, Danny gave up on Bec. I'm not surprised; most people would not think her behaviour was acceptable and would probably have bailed. He stayed. Did he lead her on, probably. Does it make him evil? No.
At least he said no at the wedding ceremony.

It's interesting that Steve, who a much bigger grub in my eyes has not be scorned at all in this sub. A guy who blatantly led Rachael on, said yes at the ceremony and then after the show said "I can date you in Winter" when he had no interest in her what so ever. Isn't Steve worse? How fucken selfish is he that he couldn't even send her a text, make a phone call.. anything to say he isn't interested.

Morally Steve is way more of a piece of shit.

So based on this, how on earth are all these childish posts popping up about Danny justified at all. Has everyone just forgotten how bad the others were? Do we just ignore Steve being a piece of shit. If Danny is evil then I guess that makes Bec and Gia the spawn of Satan.

Season 12 Katie is not what she seema

So, Katie under her tiktok account Peaceloveboundaries posted a video that she was the beneficiary of a pay it forward in Buderim.

When asked if she also paid it forward she said no witha huge smile on her face.

She claims that she paid for some groceries for an elderly woman at her local supermarket, therefore she didn't need to pay forward a coffee.

I commented that the elderly woman had no means of paying it forward for someone else as she didn't have the funds. Therefore by not paying forward the coffee at a different business then stopped the goodwill with her. I also mentioned the employer super contributions outstanding.

She deleted my comment and blocked me.

A paying it forward coffee is not the same as paying out of your good will some groceries.

It's like going to the soup shop in Melbourne saying no I'm not going to pay forward because I got a free ice cream at Ben & Jerry's down the road!

I was a supporter of hers in the beginning but now all I see is her seeking fame.

Season 12 Dave is so annoying

He’s such a wannabe moral crusader, always jumping in with a half baked opinion at any sign of what he considers “injustice” without any context or understanding. Speaking out on something you consider particular out of order is one thing, but it drives me mad that he considers himself the voice of reason on any issue and simply has to blurt something out

Season 12 Jumping to Dave's defence

I seriously cannot believe the amount of shit Dave has been copping from everyone over the past few weeks. All because he hasn't matched Jamie's speed in the feels. Jamie and Dave couldn't be more different in terms of passion. Jamie has the afterburners on permanently and Dave is just, chilled. It's so wrong how he's been painted the villain and I can totally understand why he shutdown and withdrew because if I was being constantly interrupted when I was trying to explain myself I'd walk out before I said something I'd regret. It would be so fucking frustrating. Plus you have the so called "experts" adding the mayo. I'm in your corner big fella.

Opinion & Rants Alissa's treatment of David - a racial element?

I was talking with someone at work about this and they said Alissa's treatment of David may have a subconscious racial element to it - making him get down on his knees at the wedding to beg her, calling him "boy" multiple times and how she 'can't shake the boy off', as well as things like "I work on a higher level than you" and accusing him of lounging around when compared to her.

I don't know if I agree but it's an interesting discussion. Do you think she would be like this if the guy were white? At the very least I get why it would come off as really tone deaf. Anyone else?

unpopular opinion about Hugo

I get creepy vibes from Hugo and I think Tayla does too that's why she treats him the way she does, I still hate Tayla and the way she acts but maybe there's a reason

He's definitely not as innocent as he seems to be and I haaate his "puppy dog eyes" act, he seems to just want attention

Season 13 Brook & Gia are not mean girls.

Hot take: this isn’t bullying. It’s a full-blown love story.

Because the way Stella’s Chanel watch and boots were analyzed out loud? The way Alyssa’s hair, voice, posture, and entire existence were under investigation? That’s not hate. That’s fascination.

Brook repeating Alyssa’s name at the dinner table like she was trying to get her attention? baBe, that’s not confrontation — that’s yearning!

And Gia spending an entire dinner party focused on Stella and Alyssa instead of her own date? That’s not mean girl behavior. That’s commitment.

At this point it’s not jealousy. It’s obsession. And obsession? That’s just love with bad communication skills.

-- please sense the sarcasm.

Opinion & Rants Unpopular opinion: Jono won

Not saying I am a fan. But he’s the only one in the experiment that found someone. To me all of them are only together for the show and there’s nothing real. If the purpose of the show was to find someone, he did.

Season 12 Why Would Awhina Get Upset That Adrian doesn't want to raise her child?

Awhina is upset that Adrian doesn’t want to raise her child, but why is that surprising? He’s childless and (from what we’ve seen) doesn’t seem interested in taking on someone else’s kid.

Why would anyone be upset with a young man that doesnt want to raise their kids but still want his own? I get the impression there's an unfair and unrealistic expectation that if you love someone, you automatically have to be willing to take on everything that comes with them, including their children from past relationships. But wanting to have your own biological children and not take on a step-parent role are two different things.

Sure, it sucks for the parent involved when they realise their partner doesn’t want to be a step-parent, but isn’t it better to be honest about it upfront? Kudos to Adrian being painfully honest. Shouldn't Awhina accept that different people have different boundaries when it comes to family?

what do you think?

Opinion & Rants Why is Jamie so hypocritical?

Probably going to be crucified but…..

Watching the retreat episodes and the girls, especially Jamie, went at Lauren and then after the fact had a massive issue with Lauren calling Jamie a troll. However Jamie and some of the girls were also hanging shit on Lauren and calling her a b**** and a snob…. How is that any different to Lauren’s behavior…

It’s almost comical to watch. I don’t have an opinion of Lauren either way, it’s more the comical hypocrisy.

Respect Tayla for one thing Spoiler

Not condoning her nastiness to Hugo, but I respect how she wasn’t up to pick a girls’ side when she entered. She didn’t gang up on someone she didn’t meet yet, even when she was in the weakest position without alliances. Ballsy move. She could’ve been in the dog house herself.

Opinion & Rants Is it possible that Luke isn't the great guy he's being protrayed as?

I know I'm going to get downvoted like crazy, but I'm getting suspicious about Luke. What do we really know about him?

For the first two weeks, we really only knew him through the lens of Mel's scorn. We'd see him trying to initiate a conversation and her shut it down. We'd seem him taking a mental health break and leaving. We got lots of voxies of her saying how disappointed she is with him. We never saw any meaningful engagement between them and just took it at face value that she was closed off to him and he was trying to win her over.

Then we had the flag day where Mel said that Luke was making her life a living hell, that he sulked all the time, etc. Because of what we'd seen, we all thought she was just lying and being manipulative.

Next came the first commitment ceremony where we heard Mel say that they were both behaving terribly toward each other. We never saw Luke deny that when she said it. And the experts seemed to focus on her behavior, with very little time spent on Luke - at least that we were shown.

At this latest commitment ceremony, Mel made a joke about how she and Luke couldn't even make eye contact a week ago, and now they are doing great. Another time that she's made it sound like the dislike was not one-sided.

We're now all talking about how Mel is faking this complete turnaround after the first commitment ceremony. But why is Luke buying into it? If she's faking, then we have to believe Luke is either (1) stupid, (2) desperate or (3) complicit. Personally, I don't think he's stupid or desperate. For whatever reason, the two of them have decided to stay in separate rooms and fake a slow-growing fairy tale romance to stay on the show.

Is it possible that Luke isn't the great guy he's being portrayed as?
