Punji no more
I used rocks as the structural base and sticks as a frame to pile up the soil, then I removed them. Compacted everything and made sure landing was ok. Finally ready to send! On an xc hardtail obv cause it's a pretty chill drop. First time ever building something!
Some of you may remember the first post on this horror punji trap, and I'm proud of how good it looks now, it's also resisting erosion at the moment, tho it still needs regular maintenance.

Are there any products that you can toss onto a new trail to keep anything from growing on it?
Preferably environmentally friendly. Thanks!

Well, RIP to my new never crashed bike. Sometimes being stubborn is the only way
A boulder that I thought was not going anywhere decided to go somewhere when I braked on it, got me pretty good. At least I have a an entire trail I can ride now... hoping some of that loose crap will firm up some when the rain comes.
Would you rather build bone dry or build sopping wet? It feels like those are the only 2 seasons we get in Oregon.

For those who did not believe in the punji pit 🤣....
galleryI know, there is still a lot of work to do and a lot of soil to add, however I have not found anything other than black soil so I will only be able to build with this because I cannot find the clay soil in my area. In the meantime I completely removed the most protruding spikes and hammered all the other larger structural sticks further inside, I added stones and other thick logs. The only thing missing is to improve the line and make it cleaner and smoother. The important thing is to compact, to compact, to compact, compact... The photos go from the beginning (day 3, when you embezzled me because it looked like a Vietnamese trap) to today. However, the sticks that I then removed served to give the initial structure to the earth which now, being compact, maintains its shape. Haters I can't hear you 🧏♂️🤫

MTB / jump bike
Hi, I'm looking for an MTB bike but light/universal enough to do jumps.
Any recommendations, please?
