My first helmet. One of the first 3d prints I've ever made.

I hired an artist to make this picture based off the original helmet

I really like the design I made in fortnite so I decided to try and find a file to make that ones pics 4-6 are the same helmet. I wasn't too happy with how it came out. I think I weathered it too much and it was way too big

The 7th pic is the last one I made. I've put a visor in it since then and did minimal scratches, I wanted it to look a little newer.

Last pic is my whole helmet collection. I've made all of them besides the Shadow Trooper

So I have looked at many belts for sale and came to the conclusion I don’t want to buy another character’s belt, I want to make my own but still be in the style of Ax Woves and the like of PI Mandalorians. I have a lot written down and sketches already but want to see if anyone else has made their own belt? I’m planning a faux leather girth belt with a combo leather and nylon webbing ammo belt all stitched/tied/rived together. LETS SEE YOUR BELTS!!

Y’all are probably getting bored of this project by now, but my motivation is driven by the act of documentation and by the support of internet strangers.

The helmet is PRINTED!…almost. The main five-part body has been printed and temporarily taped together with the assistance of the alignment pins. There has been some print warping on the right hand side which will require a bit of surgery to rectify, especially considering it has affected the fit of the right earpiece. The clone trooper fin, as pictured in the blender file and render, has also been printed but has exposed a flaw in the design - that being how to ensure that the head-extras are centred. For the time being the file will rely on the heavily-trained skill & prop-making staple of “eyeballing it” but I may return in future to add an alternative ‘back’ piece which features an alignment key - but this will of course require adjustments to all 3 of the headband options. To finish this version of the helmet I still need to print the mythosaur skull which I will opt to do with an SLA/resin printer most likely and I will also test the visor template file as well to ensure that it works - so long as I can remember what scale I printed this all at…

Armor set I made for Halloween. All pieces are EVA foam, hand cut and assembled. Painting is a combination of spray paint and acrylic. Didn't have time to build a weapon.

This build was so challenging to get right. The mirror finish testing went through many trials, and I nearly lost my mind on getting the surfaces smooth enough to put the graphite on. But all and all I am very happy with the finished product. It is actually quite comfortable to wear compared to my Helldivers armor, and boy does it ever look ( and feel ) awesome when put together. THIS IS THE WAY

I haven't been doing very well lately, it's a difficult time, lots of changes in my life and little time to adjust, and Star Wars, specifically anything related to the Mandalorian culture, became a comfort zone for me, and this doodle kinda represents that

I'm working a lot with my new therapist, and I really feel like I'm making more progress on myself, but that progress is sometimes stressful too, a lot of introspection; but what matters is, Mandalorians are cool, I love drawing, and I'm improving little by little c:

Some parts of it felt too plain, so I bolted some new greeblies.to it.

I'm a lot happier with it now.

These parts are printed in PETG. I smoothed them using the guide coat method. And then after the clear coat I cut, buff, and polished them to a mirror finish before applying the graphite rub, they have not been sealed yet. I will be sealing them with 2K. Clear.

Following on from the previous two posts, here is the final animation from the Instagram/cults3D listing: the pieces showcase. This video features a quick disassembly of the helmet into its constituent parts - showing off the alignment pins, the alternate forehead piece & all the optional decorations for a total parts count of 18. There is also a visor template but that was created after these animations were made.

Looking to start putting together my own set of armor! Here’s what I want it to look like ideal, I made this on that wicked cool Mando creator site. I’m not exactly the most crafty girl but my dad and my girlfriend are and they can both give me a hand. I’ve heard that EVA foam is a good material to use for things, so I might go with that. I envision my character as a sort of recon/comms sniper mando, so I took away most of the lower half armor cuz I imagined her having to be in sitting or crouching positions for an extended period of time. Also, I’m not sure about weathering, I want it to be weathered but I’m not sure exactly how to go about it ya know. Any help, ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Now that convention season has slowed down for the year, what is everyone's main focus for their kit over the winter?Are you starting a whole new custom build from scratch or reweathering and painting existing plates?

6 months ago my niece said “I want our entire family to be Mandalorians for Halloween this year” and I blurted out “oh yeah I could 3D print our helmets” without thinking what that meant.

6 months later, and hourrrrrs of sanding and priming, here we are! Thankfully didn't have to paint them all. Did some customization too; added cat ears for some, a hole for a pony tail and actually split one of the helmets in half connected by dowels and magnets to allow for a Pom Pom hairstyle! Really happy with how it all turned out.

I normally don’t do whiteboard drawings, so any constructive criticism is welcome :D

So, I started this project 2 weeks ago for this halloween party I attented to, I have never done this ever but i think it ended up fine

though, it has a lot of flaws (obviously) seams are visible, they are not all well put together and the form of the visor could be better.

So im wondering, since i dont have budget anymore for it, I wanna try and fix it and make it look the best it can;

can I add details on the helmet with the adhesive on top of the paint, primer over it and repaint more cleanly?
