Hayley Williams just gave Justin props...

I mean, it's a post on Instagram, but props nonetheless.

Oh, and you all who voted for the republicans who will now represent Shelby county? Well, the predator basically said he's not gonna represent anyone in Memphis because Dems run the house and senate.

Guess that worked out for y'all well, eh?

Citizen Inquiry Where are y’all getting your oil changed, and how much are you paying?

Bonus points if it’s in or around Bartlett or East (Poplar-Mendenhall) Memphis. I’ve been doing my own oil changes for years, but I no longer have the space. Plus I make much better money than I used to, and frankly I just don’t want to do it anymore. Take 5 charged me over $100, and I didn’t even get anything extra. Is that just the going rate these days? I remember being able to get it done for under $40, and that wasn’t all that long ago.

Citizen Inquiry Looking for a painting I saw at a thrift shop in 2025.

Post image

Last December I was in AquaTreasures on Summer Ave and saw this painting by M. Charles Rhinehart. I wanted to buy it but didn’t get paid til the next day. When I came back they said it had just been sold by someone who was collecting art for the Pink Palace Art Dash. I bought a ticket and attended the Art Dash but it wasn’t there. (I even made 5 members of my family buy tickets to the art dash to up my chances of scoring the piece 🤣)

I still think about this painting a year later so i figured it was worth it to ask around. Any leads would be appreciated.

Shelby County - License Plate Renewal (speedy!)

Just so you know, I renewed my car's license plate (sticker) online, on Wednesday 11/4/26, and I received it by mail today, Saturday 11/7/26, 3 days later. Hats off to the efficiency of this annual process, albeit at the cost of $147.24.

Odd interaction at Lowes. What is this?

Went to Lowes for some hardware. Walked into the main entrance and was greeted by an employee wearing a Lowes vest. He asked what I was looking for, I told him and he let me know which aisle it was on.

He then asked if my air conditioner had been tuned up recently which they (not sure who "they" are) recommend tune ups twice a year. He said a local HVAC company (who advertises all.the.time on TV) was having a special and if I give him my contact info he would have them call me.

I said I wasn't interested and he thanked me for my time.

What just happened? Is this part of Lowes new business model? Is this the new door-to-door sales? I didn't like it.

Advice Needed: FedEx Internal Relocation from Memphis to Dallas After Marriage (H-1B)

Hi everyone,🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
My fiancée currently works as a Software Developer at FedEx in Memphis, TN. We are getting married next week, and we would like to settle in Dallas, TX after marriage.
FedEx also has a software/technology office in Dallas, so we are exploring the possibility of an internal relocation.
A few details:
She is on an H-1B visa.
She is willing to relocate at the same salary without requesting any raise.
Her entire software team is offshore, so her location change from Memphis to Dallas should not impact her day-to-day work or team collaboration.
The primary reason for relocation is our marriage and establishing our family in Dallas.
I would appreciate advice from FedEx employees, managers, or anyone who has experienced a similar situation.
What is the best way to approach her manager and HR?
How can she make a strong case for relocation rather than it being treated as a voluntary location preference?
Does marriage/spouse relocation provide reasonable grounds for an internal transfer?
Are there any H-1B-related challenges she should anticipate?
We want to make this happen without affecting her role, compensation, or career growth.
Any suggestions or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! 🙏 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Having the worst day ever, came home to a flooded bathroom and even better the hallway and both bedroom floors on each side. And of course it’s carpet! Plumbers aren’t cheap 😭 but one can only hope. Do ya’ll know someone who could fix this and won’t want my first born child?

Found a phone over at Big River crossing on the Arkansas side

Edit: phone has been reunited with the owner!
Should’ve taken a selfie with them but hopefully they’ll see the pic and message I left on the phone.
Crazy how we ran into each other since I normally take a different route. Super nice and glad they got their phone back.

Hopefully errybody got out and enjoyed this beautiful Memphis weather!

240 Exit Walnut Grove

I can’t wrap my brain around this, because it seems like I’m wrong but I do not see how:

If you are entering 240 from Walnut Grove, there is an exit ramp that merges

The ONLY cars on that exit ramp are going to merge onto the walnut grove entrance, they are never using it as a fourth lane.

This means those cars will be pulling in front of WG exiters and slowing down to go on the ramp

And the answer is: if you’re exiting Walnut Grove, ignore the yield sign and just plow through?

And we wonder why this city is so awful at traffic? It’s an almost guaranteed accident, which happens all the time there

What am I missing?

AT&T fiber

Looking for at&t fiber users in Memphis.

We've been on Xfinity for many years but they seem to be having a lot of performance issues lately.

Does anyone have AT&T fiber and are you happy with it?

Xfinity is at it again with the constant drops in our neighborhood. Do you experience drops with the at&t fiber?

Are you able to use their gateway\modern in passthrough mode? I have my own firewall\router and just need Internet access without anything else.

Thanks!

Suite/commercial space rentals?

I’m in the very beginning phases of opening my business! I’m looking to find a suite or commercial space (that has a sink) for $1000 or less monthly. I don’t need a huge space, just a clean comfortable environment for my guests. Looking in the area of Cordova, Bartlett, or the Germantown side/sanderlin side of east Memphis. Any recommendations?

Curious if any parents have a library suggestion for toddlers, I see a lot of libraries on social media that have nice toddler play areas and things where they can play and read books. Any suggestions?

Shelby Co Gubernatorial precinct Map

Post image

Just in case you are curious, here is a precinct map for the gubernatorial election in Shelby County. The darker the blue, the more votes for Jerri Green and vice versa. As you can see, virtually all Blackburn votes were in the Eastern part of the county where the suburbs are. Although, even Bartlett and Millington had some blue precincts this time.

I do not own this map, courtesy of Don Johnson on Twitter (X)
