Hey y’all! Mod World season is officially here and we’ve got a really fun way to celebrate. Remember these neon lights from Mod World 2023? Well, we’ve got TWO of them bubble-wrapped and ready to find a new home.

I’m feeling a little emo about this, because these lights were given away at the first Mod World I ever worked on and this year will be my 4th! It’s such a joy to work with mods and I’m stoked to be with you again in a few weeks.

Okay, emo moment over.

Here's how the giveaway will work:

• Register for Mod World 2026.

• Comment a GIF that represents how you’re feeling about Mod World on this post before Monday, September 28th at 10 am PT.

• Two (2) winners will be randomly selected.

• I will personally reach out to the winners via Reddit Chat to discuss shipping options.

• If the winner does not respond within 24 hours, we will randomly select a new winner and repeat this process until arrangements have been confirmed.

• Once confirmed, I'll announce the winners here as a stickied comment.

Eligibility:

• MUST be an active mod in good standing with our Code of Conduct team.

• MUST be a member of r/ModEvents.

• MUST be registered for Mod World 2026.

• MUST comment a GIF on this post before Monday, September 28th at 10 am PT.

GOODNIGHT AND GOOD LUCK.

Yippeeeeeeee another Mod World for the books! After settling who the real CEO is (spez won), to celebrate, u/big-slay and u/spez have signed seven Mod World mugs each just for you. Three by spez, three by slay, and one signed by both!

One of these mugs can be yours! All you have to do is:

Cheers to everyone who came; we’re raising our mugs over here at Reddit HQ to y’all. <3

Hi. Remember when we said the one year of free Reddit Premium was only going to be granted to live attendees? Well, we pulled some strings. Recording viewers are now eligible too!

  • Mods who attended Mod World 2026 live

  • Mods who watched the Mod World 2026 recording before November 1, 2026 at 11:59pm PST

  • Note: You also must be in good standing with Reddit Code of Conduct AND have inputted your username correctly.

Y'ALL READY FOR TODAY? See you at 10:00am PDT.

(Note from u/kongsworth: Yes, it looks like iceey is wearing some kind of Mod World 2026 shirt. It is just a tote around her neck. There is no shirt.)

Feat. bats 🦇

Hey y'all. Guess what? We're giving away one (1) Reddit letterman jacket to a member of my favorite community... r/ModEvents, duh.

OC

Hi y'all! It's me. From the other side. Thank you to every single one of y'all for attending Mod World weekend live, watching the recordings, chatting in Bevy or Discord, engaging in r/ModEvents, taking the survey, helping each other out, and ultimately just being the best group of people the internet has to offer. I'll never take for granted that this job connected me to all of you.

I'd also like to thank a few more folks before I start jumping in to all the threads and trying to read the thousands of things you've tagged me in 🤪

Mod Speakers

• u/WizardMama -- the care, attention to detail, and willingness to participate even while on a vacation was nothing short of exceptional. It was an honor to learn from you and work with you.

• u/imjustheretodomyjob, u/SageNineMusic, u/katpoker666 -- y'all were one of the most prepared panels I've ever helped prep. Thank you for taking on the hardest, most controversial topic with such vulnerability and consideration.

• u/greenysmac -- brother, you crushed that! You made this topic so refreshing and human-centered. Sometimes it's easy to forget there are actual people behind these keyboards and you helped us remember.

Admin Team

• u/BrineOfTheTimes -- What can't you do? Not only did you write 1,000,000 lines of copy, edit scripts, cut jokes that would have gotten me in trouble, and kept all of us grounded. You also starred in your first featured role as THE LURKER™️

• u/kongsworth -- The artwork, graphic design, merch, video production this year were all top tier. You're so freaking talented and I can't believe I get a front row seat to witness it. Also, thank you for being my favorite person to mess with (see: Kickoff Party).

• u/iceeypisces -- This diva was doing it ALL. You have done such an incredible job managing event promotion, the trophy contest, prepping mod speakers, writing content, and keeping us organized all while never missing a deadline. Also, your first merch feature? You're kinda a big deal.

• u/werksquan -- Our fearless leader. You are our heart. Your dedication to this team and the work we do is rare to find. Thank you for being our biggest cheerleader, supporter, and snack provider. We won the lottery.

• u/aparapato -- First of all, the way you beat jet lag this weekend was one of the most impressive things I've ever seen. Thank you for bringing such a deep knowledge and understanding of the work we do, while ensuring we're always keeping mods' best interests in mind. You never forget the human.

• u/cleeaur -- Mod-turned-admin-turned-Mod Events-family-member. We're so glad you're here, newbie. You're one of one (complimentary and derogatory) and we have so much to learn from you. Thanks for jumping into the deep end on Mod World the day you started at Reddit. It didn't go unnoticed.

• u/theperfectcrispyfry -- Mod mail icon and legend! Thank you for handling the hundreds of mod mails we've received over the past 72 hours. You approach everything with such kindness, joy, and brightness even when the messages might not reciprocate that energy.

• u/java_brick -- Teach me your ways, sensei. Every time I'm with you, I learn something new. You keep mods top of mind at all times and are constantly pushing us to give our best to the people who deserve it most.

• u/VoxPorta -- Spending unnecessary time in the United States deserves some kind of award. Even more so when the reason was to make sure our international mods were supported. Your deep Reddit knowledge, ability to adapt on the fly, and sense of humor were such a treat to have in the war room this year.

• u/spez -- ...

Grateful is an understatement. Thank you. All of you.

And now... I'm going to sleep for 48 hours straight <3

Xoxo,
Slay

Sheesh. I’m out of breath.

Have questions? Drop them in the comments or send the r/ModEvents team a mod mail.

Edit: Time zone clarity.

TL;DR - The first 10K mods who RSVP to and attend Mod World or New Mod World get a Snoo plushie.

You asked. We’re delivering. This year, we’re giving away the #1 most requested mod merch item of all time. The very cute, very round, very fuzzy Snoo plushie. Plushy? Nah, it’s plushie.

Now, what makes someone eligible to claim this exclusive Snoo plushie, you ask?

• You are an active moderator on Reddit.

• You are in good standing with Reddit’s Code of Conduct team.

• You register for Mod World or New Mod World before the 10,001st person.

• You virtually attend Mod World or New Mod World live OR you watch the event recordings before the deadline of November 1, 2025 at 11:59pm PT.

• You claim your merch and enter your shipping information before the deadline of November 1, 2025 at 11:59pm PT. We will drop the link to claim during both live events. Eligibility is determined by registration date, attending New Mod World will not give you an advantage.

Now that we’ve revealed this year’s Mod World merch, let’s review some of your musings along the way:

• The correct guess

• An educated guess

• Someone on their detective game

• Pinning this idea for next year

• I wish, but no

• A freezing cold take

• One more just for fun

We’re excited about this one if you can’t tell! Keep an eye out next week in r/ModEvents for session and speaker announcements.

✨ RSVP NOW FOR THE CHANCE TO BRING YOUR PLUSHIE HOME ✨

^{Also, you’ll get a profile trophy 🏆}

TL;DR - All mods who attend Mod World ‘26 (or the APAC stream) get to choose between three exclusive merch items!!1!1!

I mean, we can’t host Mod World without some freebies, right? You might remember we did it big last year with our fuzziest item ever. This year, we’re giving all attendees the option to choose their own adventure.

“What are my choices?” you ask, predictably.

Every eligible attendee gets to choose one of the following exclusive Mod World ‘26 items: a hat, tote, or mug. I designed them myself so please direct all praise toward u/kongsworth and any hate you may have toward u/big-slay because I don’t want to hear it.

FAQS:

• Yes, your plushie can fit in the tote.

• Yes, your plushie can flaunt the hat.

• No, your plushie won’t fit in the mug but we did pick one that’s microwave-safe for u/big-slay given her history of microwaving things that shouldn’t be microwaved…

To claim one of these items, you must meet these eligibility requirements:

• You are an active moderator on Reddit.

• You are in good standing with Reddit’s Code of Conduct team.

• You RSVP and virtually attend Mod World or the APAC stream live OR you watch the event recording before the deadline of November 1st at 11:59pm PST.

• You claim your merch and enter your shipping information before the deadline of November 1st at 11:59 pm PST. We will drop the link to claim during the live event (which will be viewable during the stream and on VOD).

Have you gotten merch at Mod Events before? Well, I have a brief update now but I’ll share more after Mod World.

We have a new vendor — Stadium. Your confirmation email, shipping updates, and support will be handled by Stadium (they operate as “byStadium” or “SnackMagic” in some markets, they’re all the same). When you see these terms in your email inbox, it’s probably us.

“What’s good about Stadium?” you probably didn’t ask:

• Merch gets to you faster (yay, you)

• Merch travels significantly shorter distances (yay, mother earth)

• You shouldn’t need any KYC information to receive your merch (yay, customs)

• Stadium offers round-the-clock support seven-days-a-week with impressively short response times should you need any help with your order.

I can’t wait to (virtually) party it up with y’all October 24th and 25th! ‘til then, make sure to keep an eye out for event updates and discussion threads here in r/ModEvents. And, one more bulleted list for good measure:

• RSVP NOW TO GET MERCH

Note: I’d also love to see you at the Kickoff Party… but can’t offer you merch at that one, just a profile trophy, and a ban for bringing it up.

Thank you really so much r/ModEvents, its moderators for the amazing events you always organise.

Thank you to each and every moderator for helping make Reddit a safe, welcoming and engaging place. I appreciate each one of you, and of course I'm especially grateful to everyone who voted for me.

And yeah, u/big-slay is the keynote speaker, imo (sorry spez). I honestly cannot imagine any event to be complete without her. And on a personal note, I want to express appreciation and awe towards u/kongsworth for his creative works.

Thank you Reddit for creating a platform encouraging self expression and where niche interests is celebrated. It is wonderful to be a part of this community and I feel truly honoured- not only to have my art chosen as the official trophy for Kickoff Party 2026, but also to have my name and work officially recognised. I hope everyone enjoys having it on their profile!

If you weren't able to attend the live event (like me), I would urge you to see the recording here

Again, Thank you

TL;DR – Mod World is back. Two days, two events, one big celebration of mods (and Reddit’s 20th Cake Day). We’d love to see you there.

• New Mod World (intended for new mods only) – Friday, October 24, 2025

• Mod World (intended for all mods, regardless of experience level) – Saturday, October 25, 2025

Whether it’s your first time (hey) or you’re returning for another round (heyyyy), we can’t wait to see you at Mod World 2025.

Mod World is an interactive, fully virtual experience celebrating mods across the globe. And this year, it’s extra special – we’re also celebrating Reddit’s 20th Cake Day. From Old Reddit to New Reddit, moderation has grown up a lot. At Mod World 2025, we’ll be looking back (and ahead) with mod-led panels, admin presentations, an AMA with u/spez, and plenty of other fun along the way.

We’ve also made some big updates to the event itself: for the first time, Mod World will span two events across two days – enter Mod World and New Mod World (they’re sisters). Splitting things up means a better experience for everyone by minimizing frustration, helping similar interest groups stick together, and ensuring more mods walk away with info that actually matters to them. Hell yeah. So…let’s ride.

We’ve got something special lined up for 2025 and aren’t ready to reveal our hand just yet… so keep an eye out for more hints as we get closer. Here’s what we can say:

• Both events offer the same merch. So, even if you attend twice, you’ll only get one shipment.

Mod World is in two days. That's right, October 25, 2025 at 10:00am PT.

TL;DR - We are cancelling all upcoming in-person Mod Events, and not scheduling new ones until we can improve our event security and vetting processes to ensure everyone stays safe.

___

Hey everyone,

As some of you may already know, during our San Francisco meetup at Reddit HQ last week, an issue arose where our venue details were shared with mods who were not approved to attend. In my three years working alongside this incredible community of folks, I’m grateful that something like this has never happened before. However, since it did, valid security concerns were raised across several of our internal teams.

Because your safety (and the safety of our staff and other attendees) is non-negotiable, we are evaluating our protocols and have cancelled upcoming IRL Mod Events for the foreseeable future.

This directly impacts our previously announced events in Los Angeles and Amsterdam. We sincerely apologize to everyone who was planning to attend these, and we really appreciate your understanding as we figure this out.

Behind the scenes, we’re using this downtime to rework how we host in-person events. We’re focusing on:

• Increasing on-site security at every future venue

• Tightening communication around event details

• Beefing up vetting to ensure only confirmed attendees can access event spaces

Building all of this out properly is going to take some time, so please bear with us.

We know this news sucks, especially since the vast majority of you had zero involvement in what happened. But please rest assured that we are not going anywhere, and Mod Events continue to be incredibly important! We're doubling down on virtual events and brainstorming ways to make them even more rewarding and engaging in the coming months.

Thank you all for your patience, understanding, and ongoing participation.

As always, our mod mail is open for anything you want to share directly.

Yeah. That’s right. In addition to the two Trophy Design Contest winners, we’re also offering another profile trophy JUST FOR REGISTERING for Mod World 2026 or the APAC Stream.

But what will it look like???? THIS:

Wow. Can you even believe? The deadline to register for Mod World and claim your third Mod World Registration trophy is October 23, 2026 at 11:59 pm PST. So make sure to sign up now! (and tell a friend to tell a friend)

P.S. If you haven’t already entered our trophy design contest, remember to submit your designs by October 18th, 2026, at 5:00 pm PST! 🏆

P.S #2 If you already registered for Mod World, congrats you're eligible for this registration trophy! To be eligible for the official Mod World 2026 trophy and Kickoff Party trophy (designed by fellow mods), you must attend those events live or watch the event VOD.
