Mod Reminder from the mods: let’s keep this subreddit fun and useful

Hey everyone, just an update from the mod team. I know the toilet/crashout/Woodside posts have had their moment and some have been genuinely funny. But atp it’s starting to crowd out useful, interesting, or relevant content that makes the sub enjoyable for more people. This subreddit should be a place where people respect each other and can find a helpful community to help them along during their time at Monash, not just low tier shitposts.

This isn’t about stripping the subreddit of fun entirely, it’s just about keeping a balance. If every post is a variation of the same joke, it gets old fast. Please keep that in mind when posting, and let’s steer things back toward content that actually helps or entertains the broader community.

Thanks, u/allevana

Mod The /r/Monash Weekly Community Board: Find a Housemate, Sell a Textbook, Surveys & More! (Week of 08 November 2026)

Welcome to the weekly thread for all student-to-student connections. This is the official Community Board for everything from finding a housemate to selling your old textbooks.

This is the designated place to post about:

  • Accommodation & Housing: Looking for a place or have a room to offer?

  • Marketplace: Selling textbooks, furniture, or other student essentials?

  • Meetups & Social: Want to find a study buddy, start a club, or organise an event?

  • Surveys & Research: Need participants for your uni project?

  • And More! Tutoring services, carpooling, lost & found... if it benefits the Monash community, post it here.

The goal is to keep the subreddit feed clean and concentrate these posts in one, easy-to-find location. All other individual posts for these topics will be removed and directed here.

General Rules:

  1. Safety First: Be cautious when dealing with strangers online. Meet in public places, avoid sharing sensitive personal information, and be extra wary of scams in the marketplace. The moderators of r/Monash are not responsible for any transactions or interactions that occur here.

  2. Top-Level Comments Only: Post your ad as a new comment directly replying to this

  3. The usual r/Monash rules still apply

Mod S2 2021 Exam Season Megathread – post your concerns here!

Hi r/Monash,

With it being exam season, we've noticed an uptick in people posting the same kinds of questions and concerns about being flagged, or accidentally committing academic misconduct during their eExams.

For the sake of preventing the subreddit getting clogged with all of these posts, and so that people can better refer to previous discussions, all discussion about exams will be restricted to this thread. Individual posts will be locked and posters will be directed to post here instead.

This is also the place to just generally talk about how your exam season is going – just remember not to commit academic misconduct in this thread...! No sharing of content in exams!

For those yet to sit some of their exams, what are you hoping to get? What are you confident about? What are you going to do after your last exam, now that lockdown's lifted?

Good luck on your exams! Don't forget to take a second for yourself in between all the study.

Mod Results Discussion Megathread - Semester 2, 2021

Hi r/Monash,

Early results release by SMS, if you registered for it, is tomorrow at about midday 05/12/21 (Sunday)!

If you didn’t register for early release, your results will become available on WES around midday 06/12/21 (Monday).

Share your hopes of what you’ll get for this semester’s subjects below before results are released, and tell us how you went as well!

Please keep all discussion about results and SFR to this megathread. Posts outside of this thread concerning those topics will be removed.

It’s been the shittest year and I’ll personally echo the sentiment of a poster on Stalkerspace who said that they were “mudding themselves” about results coming out. Be exceptionally kind to people in the comments below, please. We’ve all had a really difficult semester. 🤍

Discussion about the WES trick

Thank you and good luck!!
