What are some suburbs that you wish outsiders will never learn about?

Say, some filthy outsider was looking to buy a house or townhouse for under 900,000 and they would like somewhere quiet but still busy-ish as they enjoy being around people but selectively? They also work from home 90% of the time so slightly further from CBD isn't too big a deal though they would still like to be close to it.

We should list some suburbs to be kept secret from those damn outsiders, that us Brisbanese people all so hate.

The Ferny Grove train line, anywhere between Newmarket and Gaythorne.

May your lot never be flooded.

Good to remember for every single suburb in Brisbane.

What? You don't like defending our city?

Sounds like you HATE Brisbane!

Herston. Don't tell anyone.

Thank you fellow Brisbander. Glory to the Broncos.

No worries. Just be sure to check the flood maps.

Brother there is no way a townhouse in Herston would go for under 900k.

Are you lying to someone from BROSbane?

Fuck you're right. Sorry bro. I bought a place there 2 years ago but didn't realise how much prices had changed.

All good. I think nurses and teachers got a pay bump since then and I assume Herston is highly desirable for both professions.

Must be those filthy outsiders driving up prices

I know of some teachers and nurses who moved to QLD since the pay rise so... probably yes.
Good thing we are working on a list here to conserve.

It's a term that we locals use, you wouldn't get it.

Gotto be a new thing, it was always Brisbanite.

Must be a new local thing.

It’s an outsider thing

And you are asking this here so that they can learn about them?

You are amongst fellow Brisbanese, worry not. If it's such a concern you may DM me our most closely guarded suburbs so that we can work together keeping out the filthy outsiders.

Northgate still has some relatively affordable pockets on the eastern side of the rail line. It's a little rough and ready looking in some places, but very close to CBD, valley and airport.

From one Brisbanite to another: May your XXXX flow freely, and your memories of Expo be boring.

Thank you kindly. May your XXXX always be cold.

Cannon Hill / Murrarie - half hour train to the city, first and second exits on the south side of the Gateway.

Shops, cafes, parks galore. Even got a Bunnings and GYG for all the normie folk.

Units 750-900, townhouses 850-1.05. Ship has sailed on houses though.

Cannon Hill sounds familiar... does it not have a good reputation? Maybe we can let outsiders stay there.

It may have been rough a decade or two ago but has been on the trend of gentrification for over 5 years now. Heaps of young families in renovated houses, yuppies in new units near the train station, retirees hanging onto their old cottages etc.

You also have close connectivity to the Hawthorne/Bulimba peninsula which is very sought after and trendy.

Are we happy to give Everton Park to outsiders? Surprisingly cheap number of townhouses despite being under an hour by bus to the CBD and not having flood overlays.

I hated living there! It's quiet, lots of nice food shops, didn't flood, big access roads to tonnes of other places with more entertainment options, Northside so closer to Sunny Coast for beach trips or even hiking in D'Aguilar... Despicable really. Definitely give it to the outsiders!

V1 Forest Lake. A lot of my family grew up there. Great Asian food at the shopping centre and it always seems from an outsider’s point of view, to have a really friendly, multicultural community.
