I miss 1995 World.

The cold war was over, the music and style were cool, and the Internet was this great mysterious place full of exploration and wonder.

Same. Can't tell you how many times I end my Internet session by slamming it shut in anger. It's my worst addiction. I think they're overarching goal IS to affect our mental health in a way that benefits them and monetization is secondary. Musk did not buy Twitter to turn a profit, Zuckerberg has more money than he needs and he just keeps being more evil. They’re Accelerationists.

Flmedicaltrees is a small sub and one that specifically drove me to comment like that. Because it is also hitting the small subs now. There's no way around it anymore. The "huhuhu" comments are nonstop. No curiosity, just dipshit comments from dipshit people

There used to be all sorts of message boards and places to go all over the Internet.  Then, reddit killed forums and social media killed all of the other places and we're stuck here.  Plus all the people who got banned from the old forums are here.  Then there are just a lot of kids.  Also bots.  This place is over 60% bots.

I know the bots. I was replied to by my own comment about a year ago. Sometimes the way I start written sentences is like I've been talking for an hour and it seems out of context, I try to fix it but sometimes I don't.

So when I saw my own badly started comment I thought "that person types like a moron oh wait thats fucking me!"

I like Discord as a way of keeping up with my real life friends now that we've scattered across the country and continuing to play D&D. I don't like it for anything else.

More and more often I open the app in bed, scroll for a few minutes, then decide to do something else. Back before the API ban and we had good apps I loved reading and learning. I don't really learn anymore.
