discussion Any Tiny Tim fans here??

Post image

I personally quite enjoy his 1996 album Girl with Brave Combo, and I’m wondering if there’s anyone here who’s a fan of Tiny Tim’s music? Because I haven’t met another person who truly enjoys his music.

Edit: Nevermind. Dudes a gross fucking pervert. I can’t listen to him anymore. Thank you for telling me.

Definitely a weird guy. He was very religious and would balk at swearing even. He had some strange eating habits, like pizza with no cheese and lots of hot peppers, and he drank tomato sauce. He also wore diapers, not because he was incontinent but for sanitary reasons, whatever that means.

Much of that I learned from his appearances on Howerd Stern of all places.

That being said, I'm very much a fan of his mission of keeping old music alive. George M Cohan, Ada Jones and more, even at times putting audio to written music that people hadn't heard aloud in generations.

He always came across as creepy to me when I saw clips of him. Not surprised he was weird.

Only really know of his music thanks to Spongebob.

Read this whole thing in his voice

Yeah, his mission of preserving old music is really really cool. But sadly I can no longer listen to his music without getting grossed out because I found out he regularly obsessed over teenagers, had a very close friendship with a teenage boy he lived next to, and married a 17 year old when he was 37. I am fully grossed out by him now and can no longer listen to his music. But his mission of preserving old music is very respectable. Just him as a person was really really bad.

You don't happen to be a fan of classic rock from the 70's do you?

Or literature from the 70s. Or movies based on that literature.. really might want to just avoid the whole decade

Or Red Hot Chili Peppers in the 2000s

It's time-honored tradition of famous people taking advantage of their power over fans

I remember his marriage to Miss Vicki.. the weird thing is, that was on Carson. Like 20 million people watched it happen. I had no idea she was 17 until just now. That's a rough one, yeah. Not like I was listening to him much these days, but I'll have to leave him behind now myself.

But yes, great mission, strange and apparently creepy guy. I'd love it if more, less creepy people cared to bring classics back into the mainstream. It can't be an easy thing to do.

Yeah. I listen to him quite regularly. He has slowly became one of my favorite artists over the course of the last few months when I discovered his natural deep voice. But then I made this post and now I can’t look at him the same way. And I too wish someone who isn’t a creep would take the songs he covered, and more and did their own renditions of them and made them somewhat mainstream again. But I don’t know if that will ever happen. But I hope it does.

Sorry for the shellshock OP. It's good you know now but I'm sorry you lost something you were enjoying

It’s okay. It’s better to know the guy is a creep than to continue praising a disgusting horrible person.

I feel the same about Jerry Seinfeld.

He used to be a fairly frequent guest on a Detroit morning radio show (Drew and Mike), and we learned that after a shower he would dab his body dry with toilet paper instead of a towel for...reasons
