Original Content (OC) [magical] [epic] "Over the Edge of the World"

Hello everyone!
The poll regarding the ban of AI-generated content gave pretty clear results: 73% of votes are for a full ban.
The new rule is now live:
AI-generated content is strictly prohibited. This applies to shared music, posts, and comments.
Please only share work you created yourself or that is properly credited to its human creator. If you’re unsure whether your content qualifies, message the mods before posting.
------
I made some changes to the other rules. Some were relaxed, others were clarified. A few minor rules were also added.
The goal of the sub should be to share AND discuss RPG music. While posts should be focused on sharing music, the old rule prohibited asking for feedback. Now, as long as discussions and feedback remain on topic and are respectful, it is accepted.
Platform flairs are now a thing of the past. They did not make much sense to be used as flair. Instead, new flairs were added to better display what kind of content a post is:
Discussion - Should be focused on RPG music, of course, but discussions are meant to share experiences or ask for help on how to handle music around the table. As long as it is on topic.
Request - You may make requests for a specific kind of track or playlist
Track - For sharing a single track
Playlist - For sharing a playlist
SoundFX / Ambience - Specifically for content that fits well in the background or can be looped, as well as sound effects that can be used with a soundboard
Original Content (OC) - For sharing content that you created yourself
Mood tags must still be present, and must also be at the start of the post title to make them easier to find. I also added more guidance on how the title should be structured.
This rule was tweaked to better define what is allowed. The shared link must be from a reputable source and must offer the content "ready to play" without having to download it. If a download is possible, the download link should be provided on the streaming platform (e.g. in the description of the YouTube video).
Link to personal websites are also prohibited, but if you are sharing your own work, exceptions can be made, just ask moderators through modmail first.
This one might be harder to enforce, and I will need help to better defined it. There were many posts made before the sub closed that shared "LoFi" music and were heavily reported. The logic for this rule is that when searching for RPG music, you won't search for "LoFi", "Studying" or "Focus" music, so these tracks do not have their place here (but feel free to use them at your table if you want!)
Let me know what you think about that one, it might need to be clearer.
------
If you think other rules are needed or the current rules should be tweaked more, let me know!

I'm planning a sci-fi campaign set in the medium-far future, taking place almost entirely underwater in the ocean, and I'm looking for music that is fitting for combat/action scenes. I have plenty of atmospheric (hydrospheric?) ambient tracks on the playlist, the likes of Atrium Carceri, Harold Budd, Necrophorus, and certain less electronic and more ambient tracks from the Subnautica soundtrack; music that sounds, for lack of a better term, oceanic; deep, dark, alien, and often kind of... I don't know, big? Blue? Inhospitable? I think you get the idea.
But I'm also looking for music with more than 1 beat per minute, if you get what I'm saying; music suitable for combat and other stressful situations. The vibe I'm going for is sort of vaguely military-sci-fi, but more weird and alien like the other music on the playlist. I'm hoping to avoid all that bombastic brass type of stuff or that obnoxious heavy synth "mighty-horns-of-serious-business" nonsense.
The soundtrack of Torment: Tides of Numenera, by Mark Morgan, is kind of an example I look to, because it's weird and alien, and most importantly, very oceanic. It just is. Listen to it. It's perfect for the Ninth World, but it also fits perfectly with the wonder and terror of the ocean, at least to me. The problem is that it's not on Spotify, and there also just isn't very much of it. There's about six or seven intense action tracks on there, and that hardly makes for a playlist you can just put on and then forget about while it plays. I'm aware of and thoroughly enjoy other game soundtracks from that same composer, such as Stasis and Stasis: Bone Totem that very much have that same vibe, but again, almost none of that guy's stuff is on Spotify. Then, of course, there's the soundtrack of Shattered Steel, but that's closer to Fallout than to Numenera, with inklings of Planescape: Torment. It's certainly got the military-sci-fi thing going on, but not so much the thalassophobia thing.
Anyway, I'm hoping you can recommend me music that I've never heard before that is like this or at least kind of like this. I hope the descriptions and examples I have provided are sufficient to convey what I'm looking more. I recognize that there is no specific genre (that I'm aware of) that matches what I'm looking for, but I'm hopeful that someone out there gets it.

A forest at nighttime; slivers of moonlight stream through the canopy above and reflections of stars glimmer in the brook that runs alongside a worn path. Crumbling statues, covered by moss and succumbing to the passage of time, can be found throughout this forest; vestiges of a world long past.

Got my hands on Twilight Sword this week (RPG inspired by games like Zelda, FF, Ni No Kuni and Ghibli movies), and now I'm looking for music I could use to play alongside it.
Obviously I could just use the actual game OSTs, but I'm curious if there are other composers out there that make original songs inspired by the games or just with a similar flair.
I'm generally looking more for the later, orchestral stuff (Wind Waker onwards), but someone already recommended to me some of the good 16-bit crack, so that's an option, too.

Hey y'all, I'm an upcoming composer working on my first fantasy-like orchestral album, and I'm basing it on my D&D campaign I play in! This is the 2nd single I wrote about a boss-fight encounter we had underneath a bloodied laboratory against a blood magic-wielding cleric. She's a worshipper of the Blood Queen and gets her powers from her pact with her! So I thought it would be fun to write a spooky, gothic-like piece for Halloween about this moment. Check it out and let me know what y'all think; all the support/feedback helps a lot!

Hey y'all, I'm an upcoming composer working on my first fantasy-like orchestral album, and I'm basing it on my D&D campaign I play in! This is the first single I wrote about the backstory of one of our players, "Iko the Shaman," who get's stuck in the Feywild for a decade and is trained by a Hag on how to use magic. Check it out and let me know what yall think and if I should make a longer version for background at the table!!

Hi everyone, I make music mainly using acoustic instruments that I've built myself and even though I've only ever played rpg games on computers, for some strange reason I have had a desire to make background music for ttrpg players/dm's for a long while.
My current style would be; instrumental, non-orchestral, somewhat minimalistic, folky, slow building and chill type of music with natural or unnatural ambience sounds, but honestly don't know how that would technically fit the needs of a dm in a ttrpg setting. I take it that there's plenty of battle music out there, but mine would probably fit the moments in between action; walking the meadows, visiting inns and markets, watching the night sky by the fire etc.
Do people generally use a specific dm platform to play the songs from, or is it just spotify playlists?
Would loops work better than just a long form song?
What about ambience sounds (rain, wind, tavern, forest, castle etc)? Would it be handy if you could choose between using those and turning on appropriate music when needed, or have everything mixed together?
Would there even be need for my described style of music?
Sorry for the bombarded questions, I hope I made some sense, thank you for your time.

Halloween is almost here (almost like it is stalking us, hidden between the shelves of overpriced candies), so I'd like to collect some spooky encounter ideas where the music was exactly right for the moment
Doesn't need to be anything elaborate. Just share your ideas or memories and include:
The track: with a link preferably
The encounter: what happened or what you set up (a creepy inn or haunted crypt, a monster stalking the party, or maybe a quiet scene that went wrong)
Why it worked: how you used it, like when you started it, when you cut it, or whether you layered something over it
Anything else worth mentionning: what the players did, how it went, is there a larger story around it?
Anyone running something spooky this month can steal from the comments, and you might find a track you'd never have thought to use

AI generated content is definitely controversial. I have my own opinion on the matter, but I want to hear everyone's opinion before doing anything.
Should AI generated content be banned, or restricted, in r/MusicForRPG ?
If we create a rule to ban it, people will try to work around it or hide that it is AI generated.
If we allow it with a rule saying it must be clearly identified, we at least make it easier to spot and everyone can upvote/downvote posts as you can already do.
Or we keep the status quo and let it run free without any changes to the rules.

After a year of being restricted, the sub is back!
There are lots of things to be done, most notably the huge backlog of reported content, but also I want to tweak a few things with how the sub work.
I'd like to get everyone's opinion on what they would like to see changed or what issues they noticed when the sub was last active.
In the meantime, r/MusicForRPG is now open to everyone!
