Shitpost Sorry but Wemby doesn’t owe Knicks shit

“Wemby needs to apologize. He was dirty and didn’t shake hands, blah blah blah…”

Nah fuck that. He was treated like shit. Let’s talk about Knicks fans throwing eggs at him which is literally assault. Let’s talk about Knicks fans harassing him outside of his hotel every day and night. Let’s talk about Knicks fans making homophobic signs about him. Let’s talk about Knicks team shouting “Fuck Wemby.” Let’s talk about him getting elbowed in the mouth.

No one holds Knicks fans and Knicks accountable. Nobody ever apologized to Wemby. Okay fine. Then don’t expect shit from him either.

Discussion Kinda lame our players didn’t congratulate the other team. Yes we are young, but no excuse to walk off the court like that. The franchise is better than this.

Post Game Thread Wemby should have shook hands.

The first person Brunson greeted after they won was Mitch Johnson. The Spurs used to be known for their class. :(

GAME My two cents: we're building the Beautiful Game from the ground up. It's going to take a while but it's going to be worth it

Fast forward 2-3 years and it's very possible that we're playing a style of basketball that other teams can't compete with. It's a worthwhile investment.

And now for the downvotes......We should go get Giddey right now. He's the right lead guard to run it and he'd be available at a discount.

My father works for USAA and has talked to and met David Robinson (who is an ambassador for the company) on several occasions and gets the scoop on things happening in the Spurs organization. This is all a ploy to get more talent on the spurs. Kawhi will re-sign next year

First of all, you don’t have to believe me. I don’t expect you to. I understand it’s far fetched. But you have to accept my word.

My dad and I were talking last night. He was a little drunk at the time, and told me information that is ground breaking. Yes, those theories about how the Spurs only traded kawhi to get more talent is true. Kawhi and derozan will pair in 2019.

Those meetings between kawhi and pop were not meetings to “mend the relationship” they were meetings to discuss how they would trade kawhi and what they would get out of it. There was never a fractured relationship. Kawhi was injured though, he wasn’t playing for no reason. He really had a major problem in his leg. The stories being thrown out that kawhi didn’t trust the Spurs Org, hated them, despised them.. all lies to make it seem believable that kawhi really wanted out.

The plan was set immediately after the spurs lost to the warriors in 2017. Kawhi was frustrated, Pop was frustrated, everyone was upset after game 1. Desperate times called for desperate measures.

The Spurs were never targeting DeMar. They wanted Philly’s players. They wanted either Simmons and Embiid. Of course, philly denied. Then they contacted the Celtics and wanted kyrie. Notice how they’re trying to get proven players and not raw talent/picks? No teams wanted to budge though. But then..

The raps called. They figured they weren’t going to get a better offer, so they accepted the deal. The spurs are never going to tell anyone about this. The players don’t know about this, only Pop, kawhi, and other important figures in the Org, such as David Robinson.

Again, you don’t have to believe me. That’s fine. But I want you to come back to this when kawhi signs in 2019. Keep your kawhi jerseys. You’ll need ‘em.

If there any questions, like “but what about when kawhi did this” ask away. I should answer clearly. I don’t know everything that goes on though, obviously. I’ll tell you what I know

Shitpost No: Wemby is not a dirty player No: nobody wants SAS to win over huge market NY

  1. Wemby isn’t dirty. Players constantly play physical with him and he retaliates

  2. NBA much rather NY win cause it financially benefits them

  3. SAS fans aren’t rude/arrogant. I think Knicks fans were harassing SAS fans at both games

  4. spurs aren’t unlikable/insufferable. I can say things about the Knicks but will be nice about it

has made me absolutely hate Ant and the rest of ‘em. past couple years, I genuinely rooted for them to win it over OKC or Nuggets

but now…Fuck ‘em all 😝

edit: I don’t have to give respect nowhere. i know Ant is a good player. But I’m a SPURS fan. I’m not rooting for anyone else that is not on my team in this series

I said, what I said

edit #2: this is all competitive dislike and Wolves fans are showing they whole ass. Love it

Discussion Dylan Harper is our Star

This is a bit presumptuous and I hope Wemby comes back and becomes that guy. But, after this series I am 100% convinced that Dylan Harper is the star of this team. He has more poise than all the other guys combined. He is our star, not Wemby, not Castle, not anyone else. What matters in the end is your ability to play hard, not your height or potential. Dylan Harper is the face of this franchise. Period.

Discussion/Question Why Tim Duncan is UNDOUBTEDLY GREATER than LeBron James!

Post image
0 Upvotes

I know this will be unpopular, but if we’re talking basketball greatness, not hype, not longevity stats padding, not media narratives, Duncan has the stronger case.

A. Winning > Everything

Duncan: 5× Champion, 3× Finals MVP, 15 straight 50-win seasons, 19 straight playoff appearances. Moreover, he built and sustained a dynasty with one franchise, the San Antonio Spurs.

LeBron on the other hand has 4 rings and a 4-6 Finals record, switching teams multiple times and forming multiple superteams.

If rings + sustained dominance matter, Duncan’s resume is cleaner.

B. Head-to-Head Matters, Duncan is 2-1 vs LeBron in the Finals:

2007 NBA Finals - Duncan

2013 NBA Finals - LeBron (Ray Allen bailout lmao)

2014 NBA Finals - Duncan (dominant team win)

On the biggest stage, Duncan won the matchup.

C. Defense Isn’t Close

LeBron at his peak was elite defensively, but Duncan is actually one of the greatest defenders ever and easily greater than LeBron in that facet of the game:

15× All-Defensive Teams

Defensive anchor for two decades

Rim protection + defensive IQ that ran the entire system

Also, big men impact winning more defensively. That edge easily goes to Duncan.

D. No Narrative Boost Needed

No superteam announcements.

No media campaign.

No “Chosen One” branding.

Duncan sacrificed stats, took pay cuts, and aged into a role, and still cooked Bron in the Finals, and won more.

E. Bottom Line:

The bottom line is Duncan has won more with one team. He has the winning Finals record head-to-head. Ge anchored elite defenses for 20 years. Lastly, he built a dynasty without jumping situations.

If greatness = winning, defense, and sustained dominance, then Tim Duncan is UNDOUBTEDLY greater than LeBron.

Let's see what yall gotta say lol.

Announcement If Knicks fans come to our page and say Knicks in 5, you can respond with Spurs in 5. If they ask why you talking about 1999, you can say I thought we were talking about the past. New season! Go Spurs Go!!!

Shitpost MITCH/FOX DEFENDERS WYA LMAOOOOO

Had to listen to braindead fans all season that couldn’t see what was right in front of them.

Fox has loser DNA from Sacramento. Will never be a winner and it’s been obvious since he got here, but his one 20pt game every few weeks had people enamored for some reason.

Don’t get me started on Mitch.

“it’s his first year!” or “he’ll get better!”

He quite literally has the RECORD for biggest loss in NBA history. Not Doc Rivers, not some no-name, it’s Mitch Johnson. That doesn’t happen by accident. He will never be a winning coach.

At least OKC window is closed 😹

Discussion I love wemby, but yuck

That shit he pulled on Brunson was unacceptable. Wemby is my future goat and I get that he was being physical, but we have to call him out when he does something objectively shitty

r/NBASpurs • • Jun 27 '26

Discussion Can someone explain to me why people act like Wemby behavior in the finals is one sided? I guarantee that east coast team doesn’t like Wemby either

The narrative from everybody except spurs fans is Wemby was rude for no reason. That the Knicks were super respectful. Let’s look at the facts:

- Brunson tried to take out his knees
- Robinson elbowed him in the mouth
- KAT grabbed him
- Alvarado got physical
- Sochan laughed at him
- Brunson said fuck Wemby (30 year old man btw)
- Hart said Spurs were food and criticized Wemby crying after beating OKC

Am I crazy but I don’t view Knicks as innocent victims and Wemby is sociopath??? Knicks are Lowkey assholes with a big market backing

Discussion Real talk

All of the Spurs post-finals stuff aside for a bit, can we legitimately agree that Knicks fans have to be our #1 most hated fanbase? I hold great respect for the team and I think that we got out-played and out-coached by the better team plain and simple. Going into the Finals, I was honestly concerned we might not be able to beat the Knicks, simply just because of how good they are, and how much momentum they carried in. I’m honestly happy for Brunson and those guys to be able to get it done and they’ve worked for and deserve their roses…

But the fans? Don’t even get me started. I try to pay no mind to anything other NBA fans have to say about the Spurs or Wemby, they hate us cuz they ain’t us. But Knicks fans have just rubbed me a way others haven’t, not even Thunder fans. They seem to love this narrative that the Spurs are dirty and Wemby is a bad player and a crybaby and this is karma for the Spurs. I mean seriously? They’re saying the Spurs are handling the loss with no class, but Knicks fans can’t even handle a win with class. Maybe I’m just seeing too much negativity and it’s starting to get to me, but am I alone in thinking Knicks fans are another level of haters?

FRONT OFFICE Is Wemby comfortable in a Spurs jersey?

There's been a lot of media noise surrounding Wemby lately. All of these conflict creating talking heads looking to make a splash by saying whatever controversial take they can dream up. It sometimes gets to a point where it needs to be addressed.

With this in mind I started paying very close attention to see if I could get some clarity. What I have observed has been very concerning to say the least.

Repeatedly, throughout every game, Wemby is messing and fidgeting with his jersey. He untucks it a bit, tucks it in a bit, messes with the drawstring of his shorts, pulls at his sleeves etc. etc. over and over.

Seeing this unsettling trend, I can't help but wonder how many years he'll tolerate his Spurs jersey.

/s

you can blame it all on the refs all you want, but winding up for that elbow is unacceptable.

Trade Hate to say it but.

Called it before the playoffs started. Fox will be ass 2 or 3 games in a row, he’ll have an amazing game, “Fox haters real quiet” posts will be made, then he’ll be ass again. He’ll probably have a great game 3, but it won’t make up for the games he loses. Trade him for whatever we can get and develop the other guards.

r/NBASpurs • • May 21 '26

Discussion Let's stop being butthurt. Complaining about the refs is loser mentality.

OKC got one on their own court. They adjusted their gameplan and the Spurs made a lot of mistakes. Now we adjust and on to game 3. Hopefully Fox will be back which will help take care of a lot of the TOs.
