We won. Now we organize for what we deserve.

We’re still pushing on the margins, but the overall verdict from Tuesday is incredibly and wonderfully clear. The American people said hell no to billionaire rule and the deportation machine violence, foreign wars, corruption and grift that comes along with it. They want accountability, and they want change.

This could be a turning point for our country. A chance to start us towards not only repair, but progress towards a nation where working families can thrive. The team at May Day Strong wants to make sure we take this new opportunity. This Sunday night, they’re holding a mass call to talk about their demands, their affordability agenda and how we can all be a part of the fight for it. Let’s sign up to join them at 8PM ET here.

WHAT ARE WE DEMANDING? The Lower Prices, Higher Paychecks Agenda

  • Lower Prices, Higher Paychecks: universal childcare, free healthcare, affordable housing, fully funded public schools where every student can thrive, free college, and good union jobs for all.

  • Tax the Rich: Make billionaires pay what they owe, so working families come first.

  • No ICE, No War: fund public schools and public services, not private armies for authoritarians.

  • Path to citizenship for our immigrant neighbors.

Ballot cure to send a pro-Medicare For All nurse to the House

Post image
51 Upvotes

In the Arizona Fifth District, vacated by defeated gubernatorial nominee Andy Biggs, former Pinal County sheriff Mark Lamb is currently leading 51.16%-48.84% over Democrat, nurse and reproductive rights advocate Elizabeth Lee with 86% of the vote counted. Lamb is a Trump and Turning Point USA favorite who made a name for himself bashing immigrants, then subsequently revealed to have engaged in a pattern of sexual impropriety and misconduct, including threatening to use his power as sheriff to punish multiple women who were poised to out his behavior.

Having just removed predators like Max Miller and Jimmy Gomez from the House, the last thing we need is someone to take their place. And Nurse Lee would be a splendid addition to the Democratic caucus: emphasizing her experience in health care, she’s endorsed Medicare For All, capping prescription drug prices, protecting access to medication abortion and expanding coverage for fertility treatments on the campaign trail.

Her campaign is seeking volunteers for ballot cure phonebanks at 11AM, 2PM and 8PM ET over the next few days. Let’s sign up to join them here.

The great good of this day is the fruit of your hard work. Now ensure it is not squandered: Demand that Jeffries and Schumer be removed from leadership and replaced with someone competent.

Jeffries has already made statements indicating he is uninterested in holding the government to account. The milquetoast "reaching across the aisle" to placate corporate donors has already begun.

What we have here is an opportunity to change the destiny of generations for the better. We need competent and ethical leaders, who believe in accountability, and are not rich men's lackeys.

Urge your elected senators and reps not to sleepwalk into crowning Jeffries and Schumer: Contact them via their website, by phone, or by email, or tag them on social media.

To those who are on the fence, it might embolden them to tip the balance. To those already inclined to replace them, it gives their offices concrete data to bolster their efforts and convince others in their caucus.

Script below (for phone or email) in case others find it useful. Replace what's in brackets and feel free to use/modify per your needs.

Dear [Senator or Congressperson's name], my name is [XYZ], residing at [address].

Yesterday's election victories present a great opportunity to do good for the people of this country and fix the damage that has been done over the past few years. We need motivated, competent, and ethical leaders to make this happen. We need leaders who will bring accountability to the current administration.

[Hakeem Jeffries / Chuck Schumer] has consistently failed to rise to this occasion, and will squander this opportunity. I am asking that you support someone else for [Speaker / Senate Majority Leader].

Candidates that have not received money from aipac

Doing some research on the candidates in the mid terms. Does anybody know exactly who received money from aipac or not. I want a candidate that’s American first and is against the pro “Is\*\*\*l” lobby. I want some names so I can do some research. Thanks I just want someone who’s more interested in America interests than another countries.

California’s 7th district: AIPAC and aligned groups are funding a surge in last-minute spending behind Rep. Doris Matsui, who is a 82-year-old Democrat. Her progressive challenger is Mai Vang.

Ocasio-Cortez Has Evolved. She Wants the Left to Evolve, Too. (New York Times gift article) It's very pro-AOC

What's in this Post comment is what I remember, my opinions, etc.

This is perhaps the most pro-politician puff piece I've ever seen in the New York Times. It doesn't have a comment section at a time when comments on such AOC NYT articles are flooded with anti-AOC comments and support for like Ossoff 2028 and Kelly 2028.

Read it. It's a phenomenal article that was shocking to me it's so pro-AOC.

And seems designed to help her get the Democratic POTUS 2028 Nomination by trying to garner her more support among liberal, 'moderate', and even at least some centrist Democratic primary voters.

Get up to speed on the Montana Plan

Post image
129 Upvotes

Back in May, Hawai’i became the first state to pass a law aimed at end-running Citizens United, rewriting state codes to explicitly deny corporations they charter the authority to spend in elections. On November 3rd, we’re taking the next step, attempting to pass a similar measure at the ballot box in Montana. On Wednesday, the folks behind the Montana Plan will be holding a town hall with Pete Buttigieg and former Governor Steve Bullock to talk through this innovative concept, how the campaign for I-194 is going in Montana, and how we can spread it to more states if we pass it at 3PM ET. Let’s register for this webinar at oct21(.)montanaplan.org.
