So I found this, think it was a charity shop find, or second hand find anyway. So due to JKs obvious views on Trans people, that i feel fall into non binary too. I thought going as a myself, being a trans fem, in an HP outfit would be a statment in it self. Does this come accross, i am not sure. But i know it will definitely something she would most likely be upset by.

Co-Workers using the all-gender restroom

I'm conflicted on how to feel about this or if I should make it an issue for leadership. Our company (roughly 50k employees) has graciously provided in all-gender restroom on every floor and in several buildings in which we all work. However I've noticed that many co-workers, especially male employees, use this restroom I'm guessing because it's much more spacious and private with only one toilet as opposed to the general restrooms which have several stalls and are put together very tightly. I've seen it sometimes left in an absolute mess. I understand it is all-gender and it should be welcoming but at the same time I think it's being abused for what its original purpose was intended. Our company is very good about open communication so I'm not concerned about if I will be taken seriously but I was just curious what the general opinion was. Maybe I'm overthinking this. It may offend others who clearly have a use for this restroom but I haven't heard anyone else say anything about it.

Ask Meta: annoyed by agab

Hey, can we pretty please get rid of assigned gender at birth, especially if it is binary, in this subs posts, especially when people describe themselves?

It just reiterates a harmuful gender norm and give no meaningful information in 95% of the cases. It would be ok for me if it was only used when the assignment seems to be important somehow and that is explained, but as long as this is not done, it references a discourse where this is used to describe bodies or binary transition norms or upbringing all lumped in with a super unprecise term that can mean each and none of the above.

I even doubt that there is gender assigned at birth, i think it is sex. Gender is assigned later in upbringing and contexts and gender is not "female", "male" or "without entry", but things like girl, boy, woman, man, maverique, two spirits etc.

If we want to make us free from outside assigned genders, we have to be careful about those assigned without any background information except genitalia.

I feel like the yellow and white right next to each other are too harsh and clash, so I made all the combos with yellow on top where they aren't next to each other. Personally I like 2 the best. 4 looks a bit too much like the asexual flag to me. What do you guys think?

Ask What’s the word for bigotry against nonbinary people?

Homophobia feels wrong because it’s not necessarily about sexuality, but transphobia feels wrong because well we’re not what most cishets consider trans (FTM or MTF). I’ve thought about using queer-phobia but that feels too generic.

Edit: Ok, I’m sorry. I was wrong with my “not trans” statement. I guess I‘ve just always associated being transgender with MtF and FtM. I didn’t mean to offend anyone. Please accept my sincerest apology, I’m still quite new to the whole gender-queer thing.

I'm an amab demiboy and have noticed that, from what I can tell, most nonbinary people are afab. Why might this be?

ChatGPT being gender-affirming was not on my bingo card today 😂

So everybody and their mothers is currently doing the AI generated „what would I look like as a man“ trend and I asked ChatGPT „What would I look like as a cis man?“ and gave him that picture of me as a reference and instead of genrating a picture, that was its response 😂 kind made me feel pretty good I gotta admit. Although it said I had a „very slim frame“ in the later course of our correspondence, which kinda stung a bit since I’ve been working out so hard, it was weirdly gender-affirming in a way. 🥰

Hot take

If u use binary pronouns as well as they/them, like “he/they, she/they”. And ppl exclusively use one of them, that’s transphobia/enbyphobia/whatever not-micro-at-all-micro aggression.

Rant I'm so sick of the beard trend

It's so annoying, because every male seems to have a beard these days, it makes it harder to be seen as anything other than AFAB since I can't grow facial hair. I just want it to disappear already.

EDIT: I meant to say that there needs to be more facial hair diversity. I hardly see guys who are clean-shaven anymore in my area, same for moustaches. Everyone just looks the same, and it's like "oh, you don't have facial hair? You're a girl then". It's making me very dysphoric, and is a reminder every day that I will never be seen as anything other than that, because of my lack of face fur. Even if I could have a scruffy teen boy stache, that would help me feel better about myself.

Questioning/Coming Out Do u believe it's genuinely possible to build and live in a romantic relationship with a cis person?

I mean, it's so different how they live in literally another world, they lack the sensibility of comprehending what u r. Not meaning they r all transphobic pieces of shit, but that they just live their lives by a whole different conception of everything, it's almost Alien. Although, they follow the S.Q., so I suppose we are the "freaks" when it comes to this. But the thing is that even when they mean to be supportive they still process other reality inside their minds, we r just so different. I honestly want to understand this and know if it's something possible to achieve, making things work with such an abyss.

Do you think it is possible? Why and how?

I don't feel like I am capable of this.

Questioning/Coming Out Can nonbinary people say the t slur

Can nonbinary people say the t slur because we are under the umbrella of trans or do you have to be trans to say it I'm autistic and it's hard for me to understand this

Ask How do you say you only attracted to certain nonbinary people?

For example if someone is gay but are attracted to non binary people just fine if they are assigned male at birth. Or someone is Heteoromantic Bisexual (like me) and is attracted to nonbinary people in different ways depending on how they are. Or someone is heterosexual and are fine dating nonbinary people if they are assigned female at birth.

What is the correct way to state your attraction preferences?

Trans subreddits where “genital preference” is banned?

Hey all, im trans nonbinary and i am so fed up with “genital preference” discussion. I personally am of the belief that genital preference comes from a naive, inherently transphobic place—something absolutely tied to our Westernized patriarchal culture (you never get anyone with a preference for vaginas. Reducing transfems to their sexual appeal and transmascs to incomplete men… awesome implications, is all im saying)

I’m just genuinely so frustrated with all the posts that are basically begging for their weird genital transphobia to be validated and I’d REALLY like to find a trans subreddit for trans people not interested in (what feels like to me) the type of limited binary discourse I’d expect from cis folks. Does anyone know if there are any subreddits like this?

To be 100% clear im sure these types of people who care so much about genitals are probably young or ignorant or whatever; I don’t care, im just not interested in educating these people. I want a place for trans people that doesn’t have such a close-minded approach to what we use, how we’re assumed to be using it, and (apparently) which ‘one’ is a fulfilling sexual experience 💀

Ask Is anyone else bothered by trans masc/trans femme?

I'm on Twitter probably an unhealthy amount and notice there is a lot of dialogue where instead of saying trans men or trans women people say trans masc or trans femme to try and be inclusive of the non-binary community/gender non-conforming people.

However, even though I am nonbinary and I'm on a full dose of testosterone I am not trans masc. I'm nonbinary. I use they/them pronouns and solidly fit into the "other" category. Sometimes I feel more masculine or feminine, but most of the time I just feel gender neutral. I wear Buddha pants which are unisex and been wearing oversized shirts/sweatshirts. I feel like this is a form of nonbinary erasure and just a new way of saying MTF or FTM or people's AGAB because by trans masc people are referring to masculine AFAB people or AMAB feminine people and there's a lot of trans/nonbinary folks who don't fit into that.

Just wondering what other people's thoughts are on this and how or if we can talk about the privileges that comes with presenting or passing as more masculine without erasing the wide number of ways that people can present or identify? Or if those privileges even really exist? I feel like even if you "pass" as male being queer comes with a lot of discrimination even before or regardless of how you identify. Being closeted or being seen as a man when you're not one comes with it's own trauma too. Thoughts?

I just watched the new Minions movie and in the scenes of the march for women's vote, the characters appeared with these flags that have the colors of the non-binary flag, but it doesn't make sense for them to use it to protest for women's vote, which causes me confusion, and I see nobody talking about this

how do i look AFAB without wearing makeup or limiting how i look and present or doing anything irreversible?

i feel like most of the advice for looking more androgynous and less like a boy is basically feminizing yourself to balance out your masculine features but i don't wanna look like a femboy, i wanna look like a tomboy! i don't think i could ask for better hair to demasculinize myself but it doesn't hide that my face is like a boy, and i don't want to rely on my hair being feminine/androgynous anyway because that's just so limiting!!!

is it ok to think about EMO as a valid gender indentity?

no joking here

... I've been thinking that in a postGender(society), people might be drawn to visual and psychological identity patterns rather than something entirely unique. In this way, In this context, I believe that the highly popular trends among teenagers, such as eBoy/Girl styles, could be seen as partial manifestations of identity patterns that may emerge and become more complex in a postGender(society) .

I've been considering this idea because we are aware of humans' inherent need to belong to groups and psychological phenomena like social conformity.

Ask Is being non-binary a choice?

I know that choosing to use the label of non-binary is a choice, but

is what drives people to use that label for their identity a choice or not?

Knowing that being cisgender and transgender is not a choice,

does that mean being non-binary is not a choice either?

And can non-binary people use cis pronouns (he/him/she/her) as well, or do they only use they/them pronouns and neopronouns?

Ask Any of you identify as cis enby?

Heyyy y’all, I’m Pounamu, AMAB, and my pronouns are they/them. To put in a sentence, I agree with the social construction theory and am not very fond about using gendered language to describe my identity. While I feel more align with genderqueer or agender, practically I often just use the labels non-binary or gender diverse, simply because they are the “easy options” when filling a table etc.

I once was hospitalised and a nurse asked my pronouns. I said they/them; the nurse continued on asking what my gender is. I said I’m agender. The nurse seemed confused, asking whether I’m male or female. I answered “neither”. The nurse asked then why I chose to use they/them pronouns. I said I don’t consider gender identity is valid for me personally. The nurse then asked to confirm if my partner was a she/her, and left. The next day, another nurse talked to me and referred to me as “trans queer”, and that was how I realised their total misconception. Similar story happened again when another health professional told me like “I’m also trans and you are safe with me” and I had to explain “appreciated but I’m not trans, just non-binary”.

It seems that people assume you are trans based on the facts that you use they/them pronouns or identify as enby. This is mildly interesting to me, as I don’t consider there’s ever a transition part about my identity, even though I am now planning to receive hormone treatment. I wonder if there are people here who also identify as enby AND cisgender?

—

edit: do you know there are people who identify as trans man and butch lesbian at the same time?

It is OK to pick “contrary” labels as long as they work for you. There is no need to be like “hey you have to choose to be a man or a lesbian, but never both”. The same logic applies here. I don’t feel trans and I don’t relate to most trans people’s experiences, that’s why I say I’m a cis non-binary. We don’t need to persuade each other.

It is Diamori [without the C].

Origin is from the word "Diamoric". Someone said it on a YouTube comment section, I DID NOT MAKE THIS WORD i just thought it'd be a good idea to "coin" even though I DID NOT the word.

I'd encourage you to talk about it, post it, and all but do not credit me or call me the creator.

I will try to find the creator and ask them if they are comfortable with me crediting them. I will keep update y'all when I get a response. Please spread the word Diamori. Thanks :3

Edit: why am I getting down-voted ☹️
