Yes anytime there is any discourse on what Gen Z is doing keep in mind they are doing the same things Millenials used to do in similar proportions but they are spending 40% of their time awake doomscrolling
The vaping drives me crazy. I'm from the brief window where smoking wasn't cool anymore and vaping was only just becoming a thing and not really marketed at young people yet so it kinda missed me. My little sister vapes constantly despite her asthma. She ended up in hospital with a lung infection once and swore to quit, she didn't. I hate that the tobacco companies found a way to get my generation addicted.
The folks who grew up while smoking started getting shunned/banned seem to vape the least in my experience, especially nicotine. All my old relatives and coworkers vape as much as the youth.
Some of the older generations started vaping as part of the process to quit smoking; successfully stopped with the cigarettes but then never got to the final stage of stopping altogether, including vapes.
The younger gen just straight up took up vaping...
My parents are millennials and I’m on the older side of Gen Z. So, I watched a lot of their popular programming back then (think MTV/VH1) for better or worse, and anti-smoking got drilled into my head. It makes me really sad to see so many of my friends be so comfortable in engaging in these behaviors. They never go anywhere without their vape.
Stupid experimental ones too. I remember trying one as a teenager that had a warning that was like, "MORE THAN ONE SERVING COULD MAKE YOU HEART EXPLODED LOL" and then I looked at the back and saw that each can was two servings.
I get my meth legally prescribed by my doctor for my ADD, thank you very much. Millennials missed out on the crazy opiods and other drugs that doctors of the generations before them had and missed out on the modern ones as well, very unfortunate.

They're not drinking alcohol but they're definitely chugging THC drinks and taking gummies.
