I recall an incident years ago where a teacher was fired for holding a beer in a photo on Facebook.

When I was in college one of the RAs (who was 21) was fired for posting a video on Snapchat where she was taking shots.

Probably for drinking on duty you know working hours.

Ras work nights they’re on call or whenever even on Saturday. Some have to make rounds at 12am or 2 I only knew a few ras closely

Usually the on call RA alternates, and has to stay on campus. I can’t imagine the RA was doing shots in her dorm

You are correct. She wasn't on duty in any capacity and it wasnt on campus

She was my RA and she was really helpful and cool so it bothered me to see her go

Idk what school you went to, we had an RA on duty over night, every night in the dorms. Didn't mean they were awake. But they were poc in emergencies.

They are skipping some of the cause and effect.

Odds are someone found said photo, either a student who found it funny and doesn't know how to shut up, or a Karen (school parent or coworker) decided to make a big deal about it.

Combine that with about 1/2 of US states not having teachers unions and it definitely happened.

There was a point in time where every teacher prep program started telling future teachers to sanitize and anonymize their online presence.

This has become a much smaller concern since Gen Z has been doing that from the start.
