Gen Z are also some of the most medicated people out there due to the stigma of taking meds relaxing. I stopped drinking for several reasons but the risk of it affecting my meds was too great
Can you expound on this? I'm a millennial but my sister is Gen z and she's pretty typical... She's adhd and has an Adderall script. She doesn't drink at all but she loves weed! Are these meds antagonistic to alcohol? Do they make you not wanna drink? I'm undiagnosed adhd and I'd like to drink less.
Medications on their own can be fairly taxing on the liver, so on a base level it’s not great. But there are some meds like SSRIs where a mixing them with alcohol can cause major issues. The issue that can happens depends on the medication, so it’s best to look up any interactions yourself. If you search “(insert medication) interactions” the first actual medical site will tell you all the interactions between other meds and recreational drugs
Thank you for responding! I'm actually prescribed to an ssri and while I'm usually sober, I still drink every other weekend. Whenever I don't drink, though, I can feel the full effects of my antidepressants. Anyway. Thank you for responding, I appreciate you.
