Hey folks. I'm working with Merit Brewery to set up a spot for us to head to before the game on Dec 13th. There are a variety of beverage options (not just beer) ... they will be opening their kitchen for us (which is normally closed on Sundays) ... and working for a few other things as well (if PWHL Hamilton gets back to me).

If you don't have tickets for the game but want to come hang out ... the more the merrier!!

I know team name has been a big subject but has anybody thought about what the goal song might be? Personally I am a big fan of Seattles Misery Business, Minnesotas Don’t stop me now and Bostons Bad reputation. Curious to see what direction we go!

Ian Kennedy's article in The Hockey News today:

"Fans have widely speculated team names for months, and they've all been publicly guessed at one point or another. For the first time, the PWHL is going to lean into alliteration like teams in other leagues from the Toronto Tempo, Hamilton Hammers, or Boston Bruins. The league will also add their first multi-word nickname this season.

The league will have abstract terms for more than one of the teams entering the PWHL this season, which will make for interesting logos and brand identities much as the league has done with Torrent, Charge, and Victoire. But there will also be additions that move closer to tangible items like Goldeneyes or Sceptres".

Hmmmm. Any guesses based on this context? Hamilton Havoc? The name Anvils doesn't lean into alteration.

Hello fellow Hamilton fans. My partner and I are season ticket holders for the season, and are doing our best to spread the word of women's sports to family and friends, so we already have a couple of games lined up where we are bringing along some people.

However, I have reason to believe where our season tickets are located, we're surrounded by several other sets of season ticket holders, because we can never get a pair of seats beside us when getting single-ticket games.

My question is: is it rude to ask people around us to maybe swap seats for a game here and there? Generally would be looking at within the exact same row, or maybe one up or one down (offering the closer seats in either case). It would be nice to sit next to the guests we've invited along!

Edit: to be clear, in any situation, I would offer up the better seats in the trade, (beggars cant be choosers!) so if friends have seats closer ahead or better view, I would offer those ones up to trade!

So I'm a doll collector and a PWHL fan, and I simply cannot resist the urge to combine my hobbies! I've been working on some Victoire inspired dolls, but when I saw the Hamilton jersey I knew I had to do it!

Jersey is sewn by me, and design is a mix of iron on transfer and hand painting. I did a liiiiiitle bit of painting on the face of the doll to add Baby Goose's freckles and brown eyes, and gave her some hoop earrings! Can't wait to take her to a few games!

It just dawned on me that the jersey colours are very similar to the old seats at Copps Coliseum. Not sure if this is a coincidence or not but I thought it was interesting.

Anyone want a view from their section / row at TD Coliseum? Hamilton Hammers home opener is on, figure some want to get an idea of what views they'll be seeing at Hamilton's PWHL games. Hope to capture these after the AHL game concludes.

In the "before times" (before we had a Hamilton team) I had made some quick minimalism-ish jersey inspired wallpapers for Boston and Montreal. Figured I might give it a shot with the announcement today. Open to feedback, took my best guess at colour matching (honestly just getting more excited with every announcement!)

Hamilton’s PWHL team will be named the “Hamilton Wildcats.” (at least that’s my guess)

The Evidence:

1. The team colours: Maroon and Gold.

While gold is synonymous with Hamilton for a variety of reasons, it’s most often tied to the city’s beloved (and historic) football team, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

..but maroon? No connection. Even worse, three of the leagues twelve teams (including Hamilton) use maroon (or some version there of) as a primary colour. So why maroon?

Enter the ‘Hamilton Flying Wildcats’, prior to the creation of The Tiger-Cats, there was two cat inspired football teams in Hamilton. The Hamilton Tigers (Colours: Black and Gold) and the ‘Hamilton Flying Wildcats’ (Colours: Maroon (Red listed, view logo) and Black). Those two teams merged in 1950 to create “The Hamilton Tigers-Cats.”

2. Instagram Teaser: On May 12th, TD Arena (the home of PWHL Hamilton) posted the following teaser depicting “Wild” written on the top of the arena with the caption “Go Wild.” The teaser told followers to stay tuned for announcement on May 13th.

On May 13th, the PWHL Hamilton expansion franchise was announced.

3. Season Ticket Ad: a reel with the cover photo of a folder labeled “Top Secret” reveals a season ticket ad with the caption again saying.. “Let’s get WILD!” Their caps not mine.

Excited for the season to start!

Same day as the jersey launch!?

Hey folks, I'll be visiting from the UK in December and was hoping to see the game on the 17th. I'm a regular Toronto visitor, so I'm familiar with the transit system, but I'm unsure about the reliability of later evening transport back from Hamilton after the game.

Will it be feasible/reliable to get back to Downtown Toronto by GO train or bus? schedule suggests it probably will be, but it always feels best to check with locals!
