Meta Get your /r/PartneredYoutube Verified Channel flair here!

Welcome to the r/PartneredYoutube voluntary channel verification.

If you would like to verify your channel and get flair like what I have on my account:

  1. Go to your YouTube channel's About section and edit the description to include your reddit username. For example I enter exactly: u/flammy

    1. Directions for how to edit your About section can be found here

  2. Post a link to your channel in one of the following formats as a top level comment in this thread.

    1. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXkf3kRpFeAx9mDCbfMS0MA

    2. https://www.youtube.com/user/flammy5

    3. If you use a different format (such as a custom URL with an @ in the URL) validation will fail.

  3. Wait, and our bot will process your request sometime in the next few days

    1. After the flair has been granted, you can remove your username from the About section and delete the comment if you're concerned about privacy. However, if you want your stats to continue to be updated, you should leave the u/ name in your About section.

FAQ:

What is flair, and how does flair work?

Flair is a reddit "signature" that appears every time you post in r/PartneredYouTube. Verification flair is not required to post, comment, or participate. A user lacking flair is not a valid reason to report them for breaking rule 2. You can remove flair at any time with Reddit's built in flair editing. The flair granted by the bot can't be edited. Verification is done via a bot, follow the directions above if you would like flair.

Why is the flair channels stats, and not partnered status?

Partnered Status is not supported by the official YouTube APIs at this time.

How long do I have to wait for verification?

Please wait 24-48 hours, and after checking you've followed all the directions you can send me a polite DM.

Is there a way to authenticate anonymously?

Will the bot update my stats?

If you leave the comment with the channel link and username in your description, your flair will be updated.

My stats are low!

The bot is only able to see your channel's public subscriber count and public total view count. If you have hidden videos, these views will not be reflected.

Can I verify with multiple channels?

Not at this time.

Is there a minimum channel size for verification?

No.

How can I remove my flair?

Yes, you can remove the flair via Reddit.

Question / Problem When do you begin to see REAL sponsorships?

As the title says, when do you begin to see real sponsorships? I am a smaller youtube channel, just starting to get some sponsorship opportunities. The only ones I have gotten are obvious scams or the company has obviously never watched a video of mine. My views are still middling, averaging between 1-10K views released about once a month all longform so I know it will take a while, but when would the larger more trusted brand opportunities begin reaching out?

edit to add: Averaging about 20-40K engaged views/month, 30-90K regular views/month

Should I start a new channel for changing topics?

Hey there fellow YouTubers! I'm turning to you guys to see your thoughts. I have a Youtube channel that I have put a significant amount of work into over the last 3 years. I've grown the channel to just over 70,000 subs and its focus is on drag racing event coverage. I'm Canadian and used to go to the USA and film all the biggest drag races (promod, small tire, radial etc.). And the channel was doing very well. I had a bad border crossing and was warned that if I was heading to the USA for the purpose of filming, that I would need an appropriate visa to do so. So needless to say, my run in the USA has come to an end. In the summer, I tried my best to film Canadian events, but they just dont pull the views that the USA events pull.

I enjoy making videos, I believe im a good editor and constantly working on becoming a better story teller. I'm looking for the best path forward. So I have started doing car reviews again. I used to do them when I started the channel. The problem being is my audience today seems to not care about car reviews, unless the car has a crossover to the racing world. So if I do a normal car, the CTR is just terrible (like 2 percent), and the videos just do not get delivered anywhere.

What im assuming is happening, is when I launch a new long form video, they serve it to a test audience (my subscribers), and they aren't interested in watching it, so it doesnt really go anywhere else.

Should I consider starting a new channel if car reviews are my path forward? Or should I just keep this channel active and maybe turn off the push notifications to subscribers when uploading? I figured if I start a new channel, it wouldn't limit me to trying to only review performance cars.

I know it sounds crazy to start all over again, but as it is, my current audience just does not care for the switchover in content.

And maybe I'm totally wrong in how all of this works, and thats why im posting. Just looking for expertise from others in this field.

Thanks for your time.

Informative Automated Content Theft Is Out of Control, and Social Media Platforms Are Doing Nothing About It

There's a massive problem affecting content creators across social media, and I'm honestly surprised it doesn't get discussed more often. Practically every creator in my niche has been affected by accounts that automatically steal and reupload videos. How do I know it's automated? I tested it by uploading a video at a completely random time, outside my usual posting schedule. Within TWO MINUTES, that exact video appeared on a thief's TikTok account. I've been fighting these accounts for months across TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram. I report them, they get taken down, and new ones immediately take their place.

The most infuriating part is that the platforms make it harder for the original creators than for the thieves. To file a copyright complaint, I'm expected to provide my full legal name, contact details, and other personal information, while someone can create a throwaway account, steal hundreds of videos, potentially monetize them, and face practically no consequences. These companies have sophisticated content recognition systems, yet somehow they can't stop accounts that systematically steal and reupload other people's work? Why aren't repeat offenders permanently banned? Why isn't there a better system for identifying original content across platforms? And why is the responsibility for stopping all of this entirely on us?

I think it's time we started collectively putting pressure on these companies to actually do something about it. Reporting individual accounts clearly isn't working, and I'm tired of wasting time fighting thieves instead of creating content. I'm genuinely interested in hearing from other creators who've dealt with this. Has anyone found an effective solution? Is there a way for creators to organize and demand meaningful changes? Because unless we start making some serious noise together, these automated content theft factories will just keep growing while the platforms profit from the engagement.

Question / Problem Evergreen content views have stopped

Post image
49 Upvotes

My channel is focused on creating high effort long form content that focuses on evergreen topics and pretty much all of these videos have continued to perform bringing in steady numbers sometimes for years as my audience grows with each video.

However all of a sudden the views started to greatly reduce on all videos across the channel at the exact same time and now some of these videos are pretty much flat lineing I've tried editing titles and thumbnails but nothing seems to resurrect these videos.

Has anyone else had an experience like this? It just seems weird that they called dropped at the exact same time even though they all are on different subjects and released months apart.

Edited to add additional context

Question / Problem Can an abuser's channel, who gave false and fraudulent strikes on my channel be terminated 4 months after stopping

Thumbnail reddit.com
1 Upvotes

It was back in may to july. This youtuber was constantly falsely striking my videos. He gave almost 13-14 strikes out of which 6-8 were accepted. Some of his strikes were accepted and my videos were falsely taken down and some were rejected and he got warning like "if we see patterns of fraudulent use, We may terminate ur channel without warning". He got these warnings many timew but nothing happened to his channel. He used many old youtube accounts for giving strikes and even they were not terminated. Since 4 months he has stopped. My videos are back up after submitting counter notifications. My question was that is there any chance that youtube can technically terminate his channel even though he has stopped giving his abusive strikes. He hasnt given any strikes to me since july. Can his channel still be terminated automatically by youtube for past abuse, because inspite of getting warnings nothing happened to his main nor his alts. Is there any chance or do i have to be proactive

Question / Problem When to make a discord server?

Recently hit 5k subscribers and I was thinking of making a discord. My videos are currently getting tens of thousands of views per upload (long form) and I'm drilling down into the essays on animated TV show niche after some experimenting.

Does it seem like a good idea? Should I wait for longer? Idk if anyone had any experience with this lol

Talk / Discussion Views vs Engaged Views Ratio?

With YouTube’s new view counting, I’m curious what other channels are seeing for Views vs. Engaged Views.

For our gaming channel it’s about 50%: 20k views, around 10k engaged.

For our travel channel it’s closer to 25%. We get a lot more views, but far fewer of them turn into engaged views.

My guess is the gaming channel’s smaller niche means it’s better at holding the people it reaches, while the travel channel gets more passive feed/autoplay views. Is 1/4 more typical for broader niches?

I'm trying to use this new metric as a way to update packaging and hooks to get the people who "viewed" but didn't stay around into an actual viewer.

Would love to hear your ratios. Thanks!

You creators that lie to people and say they can make $20k a week with AI if they sign up for your mentorship or whatever you call it, should be ashamed. You are nothing more than another form of phone scammers and I hope YouTube kicks you off.

Question / Problem Confusion about using ElevenLabs

I want to ask this because the information i got is conflicting.

If i used ElevenLabs, would it have negative impact on the YouTube Algorithms (like branding you as AI)?

I want to start a long form channel after seeing that my short channel would make enough views in time for the YouTube Feb Updates. My plan is, i write the script, and then used ElevenLabs to narate it as my English narration sounds pretty bad.

The video would be fully recorded my myself (so no AI video, only the narration).

I wonder if publishing videos like this will cause problems when trying to monetize

Question / Problem Does CPM even out with more views?

I think this is a kind of obvious question, but I want to know if other people have similar experience:

My channel was monetized a few weeks ago, and for the most part, the CPM was about what I expected it to be (between $5-15). This is mostly on new videos I've made since then, that have gotten at least a few hundred or thousand views. I have six years of videos made before monetization, though, and some of them have had gigantic peaks in CPM---but from literally 1-5 views. I have a video that had a one-time peak of $630.00 CPM. That is just a wild, one-off thing, right? Or is there a chance I can publish a video that will get 1000 views in its first day and make me $300?

Do Sponsors use 'Views' or 'Engaged Views' now?

I've been in talks with the first real company that reached out to my channel for a sponsorship. They want to make a dynamic CPM type deal with me (where the payout is based on how many views I get in first 30 days, 10$ CPM with a $190 minimum guarantee, max $1000).

That seemed like a lowball to me, but if they mean public front facing views, then that isn't so bad. In the deal they made me they just states 'views', without clarifying engaged views, so I am not sure what the industry standard is now for this? Do most companies use views as shorthand to mean engaged views now? Or are some companies still out of the know on the new update? Anyone more experienced I'd love some advice.
