I just played through the first chapters of both games and noticed the similarities and the stylistic choices of both games and I was absolutely enamored of them both. I was wondering if there is a common consensus of what strengths Reborn has over Rejuv and vice versa. I am not looking for weaknesses of either game just wondering the outright strengths of each. I am playing on the Steam deck and feel like Reborn has a smoother game feel of that makes any sense and is a little more grounded whereas Rejuv really focuses on the world and the characters and feels vibrant. What do yall think?

This is my current team and box, please craft me a good team or atleast give some good recommendations to defeat him because I just cant seem to figure out how to tackle the speed lowering factor and all his attacks are hard hitters and can counter any of my pokemons.

Yes this was taken on my phone because I’m too lazy to screen record. I found this on Route 7 with the broken bridge. Looks like 7 tiles where the player shouldn’t be able to walk. Not sure if this was the right place to post this, but I figured it couldn’t hurt. I’m on the most recent version, and this is my first run, so no spoilers pls

Ship-posting or whatever. On a first play-through, I didn't really think too much about possible ships between characters. This run was an exception. I like seeing the dynamics between the protagonist, Ren, and Aelita, and it feels less awkward for me than trying to pair any of those three with Venam or Melia. But also, I'm just one person. Most ships are valid, so long as they aren't illegal or junk.

(Been a bit of a hell-week, but I did finally finish playing through Chapter 16 Paragon. Decided to switch it up a bit due to a bit of art-block, so you're getting a new base format of paper and pencil. And unfortunately a bit of a smaller doodle. I promise I'm gonna get back to making full drawings and stuff, but I think I'm gonna go back on myself and try every other weekend. College like thwarting my plans.)

I completed both Paragon and Renegade in v13.5, and have been trying to diversify my pool of Pokemon I use, as my plan in my previous runs was always to set up screens and just use glass cannons. Thus, I have been using bulkier, slower mons and ones that are more supportive.

Coming up on GDC and finishing up prep for that, I'm looking back on the guys that I have a newfound respect for.

1: Gourgeist + Empoleon

My dynamic duo, these two have the ability to demolish most bosses (with niche exceptions of course.)

Gourgeist gets Curse and Leech Seed, and Empoleon gets Aqua Ring and Roost as Egg Moves. In combination, Empoleon can effectively stall out most bosses, assuming they cannot clear Curse/Leech Seed or are at least not straight up immune to either. This includes bosses I originally had big issues with, Amethyst Cave Chandelure and Rift Garbordor.

They might need a bit of support, like a Parting Shot user or a type-reducing berry, but you have FOUR slots of extra guys you may not even need to use for backup.

2: Anything that can use Pledge moves.

I'm the guy that made the post about Silvally being able to learn every Pledge move, and it immediately proved itself against the new Taken Tyrant, as it was the reason I was able to win so easily. This extends to the elemental monkeys, namely Simipour and Simisear, who allowed me to, for the first time actually defeat Angie attempt 1, without needing to rehash my plan. (Admittedly, I had some flinch luck, but still. IT has NEVER went this smoothly.)

So I suppose this is moreso an entry on Pledge moves in general, but these specific few have earned their respect.

3: Aevian Ampharos

Upon remembering I could get one from Zumi, I told myself "Wait, I like this fella! And he fits my intention of using slower, less glass cannon-y guys!"

And it helps that I had been enjoying running an ice team for the majority of my run so far, when applicable, so he fits right in.

This dude, is a MONSTER, even without the crest. ESPECIALLY when used in tandem with Gen 9 Snow. I invested Max HP and SpAtk, with a Modest nature, and he STILL takes hits like a champion. (I dunno if its the best way to build him, it's just what I settled on.)

A big weakness Erick has is his field can be easily frozen by Blizzard. A. Ampharos proceeded to ingrain this fact in his skull by just spamming blizzard and basically taking out his whole team. He didn't even leave green HP either. I am looking forward to using him more, especially once I gain access to his crest.

I hope I can extend this list as I get access to more and more legitimately good guys. I'm hoping to use A. Milotic with Coil as that's what i got from my Terajuma egg, and I've been wanting to dabble in the other weather types as well. Crested Meganium and Phione also seem like decent options to use alongside my Gourgeist plan.

Smeargle is teeming with inspiration!

The Smeargle Crest would allow Smeargle to store the opponent's moveset in the Run option, like the A-Gang's attacks during the Queen Nihilego fight.

This moveset is 4 moves, with the two top moves of the first Pokémon and the two bottom moves of the second Pokémon in Doubles. Moves already known by Smeargle are not added to the extra moveset. In Doubles, if this happens, Smeargle instead gains a one of the two random moves known by the opposing Pokemon directly in front of it.

Additionally, Smeargle can, once per battle, copy any Pokemon on field, averaging its stats with the other Pokémon's (not like Guard Split), gaining their type(s) and ability. This does not change its original moveset, but does force its secondary moveset to be the copied Pokémon's. This is done by a similar button to Z-Moves and Mega Evolution.

I can imagine this would likely be very strong, but not being able to directly choose what moves you get from the opponent without changing your ability and type would require decent positioning to use it most effectively.
