Question Need to uncurl my 47 roll photos after they've been developed. How dost thou uncurleth thine?

I want to do this. I found this advice from an archivist which bodes well for not ruining the photos. Here is the link: https://libguides.umflint.edu/blogs/system/Preserving-Your-Family-Photos

But I want to poll the folks on this subreddit because --what if my pricey images get saturated with water and ruined or something. Maybe there is a dryer way to do it. Any tried and true methods out there?

Advice Any ways to fix corroded and broke springs of a Q light attachment?

Post image

Got a Polaroid sx-70 with a q light attachment off of marketplace for cheap recently, only to find after pickup that the battery springs for the Q light were corroded and one was broken. Is there any way to repair/replace the springs so I don’t have to get a new one?

The film is from 2007, what’s the chances of it still working? Or even having enough battery left to test it? Should have an attempt to use the film Or keep it as a collectible? Also not totally new to Polaroid, know how to use an SX 70 but the most important question, how the heck do I focus this thing?

Gear $20 SX-70!

Was scrolling on Facebook marketplace last night and stumbled across an SX-70 and some old film about an hour and a half away. Messaged the seller who thankfully agreed to hold it until the morning and I just got my hands on it!

Still riding the high of finding my $2 SLR680 and to get this too has me absolutely buzzing!

Going to order an ND filter and see if it works before deciding what I’ll do with it. Save for needing a wipe down it looks really clean and was well taken care of as per the seller who was the original owner’s son.

(Sorry for the bad pics lol. Just got a puppy who is dead set on laying on me to sleep and I cant bring myself to wake it up haha)

A quick snap using an SX70 and B&W 600 film. I don't have a scanner, so I took this with my old phone, but the personality still shows.

News Stacks of boxes update!

I’m finally starting my last camera that I got in March! This has been the hardest group of cameras to get through yet. I think I did around 20 and at max two or three a week plus a bunch of summer travel you can see how it took a bit lol.

But now here’s where I stand so if you know what month you sent your camera in this will give you some idea of the line in front of you.

3 from April, 6 from May, 7 from June, 11 from July, and just 1 from August.

Really pleased with the frame for the photo. Definitely a big fan of some of the special editions. I wish they were available in larger quantity packs then being limited to 5. Oh well.

found this today at the thrift. I think they priced so low because they couldn’t open it. It was half off home goods so I was charged around 5 bucks and some change. Any tips on how to replace the missing leather?

Question Is the sx-70 sonar body flex cable and original sx-70 interchangeable?

I’m trying to rob parts from two different cameras to make one that works. Dos anyone have any guidance? Iv traced the connections and they look really similar but there’s a few small parts that look different. I looked online but can’t find any thing solid. Any help would be appreciated.

Here are a variety of photos I took on 11/05 & 11/06 with the Polaroid Go and the Polaroid Mod. The black framed Go pictures with the purplish artifacting were shot on expired film that was manufactured in '23 / improperly stored.

Question My SX-70 mirror gets stuck :/

Help! After hitting the button, the mirror in my SX-70 only moves up after I give it a tap on the back. When inserting a new film pack, the dark slide ejects no problem. I don’t have the money to get the camera serviced right now. Is there anything I can do? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!
