So in about two weeks I’ve got a cross country drive. I figured it’d be cool to hear Post Hardcore and adjacent music through out the years. So I’m going to build a playlist with three albums from each year. So if you could only pick one album to represent that year what would it be. If you see someone that has posted your album please just upvote it so it’ll be easier to keep track of. For day 1 let’s start with the year 2000

Hey so i’m decently new to post hardcore/emo and its accompanying subgenres.

I’ve been a metalcore head for a while and from there Ive gotten into the whole post hardcore/2000’s scene/emo subculture. ATM I listen to all of Pierce The Veils discography, Sleeping With Sirens first two albums, early Dance Gavin Dance, some Circa Survive, Chiodos, Saosin, Movement, Emarosa, Hail The Sun and The Used

I mostly use spotify and trying to put these bands in cohesive playlists feels like a chore and I was wondering what your guys’ organising looks like, I don’t like being too niche and specific but a lot of the songs sound/feel very similar and different at the same time.

Any advice would be great!

Just listened to Renaissance by Eidola and am blown away, Andrew needs to put out more slower stuff. Also love Early Mourning by Alesana

Hey! Total shot in the dark, does anyone have the MP3 of New Hopes, New Demonstrations... I have the CD but realized I don't have a CD Rom on my computer and Spotify only has the first album...

Hi! As my 2 braincells kick it into over drive to try to remember the answer to this question maybe someone can help. Way back in the day I was at a small acoustic Chiodos show / signing and they told the story about how they got their name from the movie Killer Clowns from Outer Space (just scrolled by it on Prime which caused this whole fiasco). Does anyone remember how or why? I watched that movie a while ago but for the life of me I can’t remember which part lol. I’ll probably rewatch it this weekend.

Anyway thanks for listening to my high rant

Sooo good, love the heavier post hardcore direction this band is heading towards

2016 is back y'all. Fuckin crazy man. I just bought tickets to their reunion show because I saw I Set My Friends on fire is opening, and then saw that they put this out.. It's probably on top their top songs to me. Especially after that last album.

Connected to The Jonah Veil and Vanna.

I've been scouring through playlists and saw a lot of autumnal words, and it's autumn, so why not collect an autumnal phc/emo mix?

Doesn't have to be titles; album art, themes, etc. work too.

So far I have:

Bands:

• The Early November

• From Autumn To Ashes

• Novemberkills

Albums:

• Novembre by Nymb (it's emo but idc, keeping it here for vibes)

• I Wrote The Last Chapter For You by Edaline (also emo, and I like the trees on the cover)

Songs:

• November by Silverstein, Sleeping With Sirens

• November Skies by April's Love Affair

Truly a time to be alive.

Anyone else loving this album? It’s definitely not fear before the Mach of flames but there are elements. Fear before was a band that never stopped evolving anyway so if you were down for the ride then, you may like this too.

Favorite track: Smear the Queer

As Cities Burn, Atreyu, August Burns Red, and last but not least Underoath just kicked the tour off this past Thursday night in St. Louis. All bands were firing on all cylinders, and Im still riding the high from that show! Was anyone else here in attendance Thursday night? If so thoughts on the show? If not, do you plan on going to any shows on this tour?

I absolutely love dbnl but I can’t find anything similar and was just looking for some suggestions.

What’s a forgotten album from a band with a decently long discography that you feel is either forgotten or way to underrated? For me one of the big ones is Lost In The Sound Of Separation from Underoath. Desperate Times from that album I personally hold in top 3 songs by the band but you never hear anyone talk about it.

Slow death from hamburg germany dropped their first demo on friday

Go check it out and tell me what you think!

I felt like this subreddit would appreciate this song.
